Review San Jang Korean Restaurant - Dallas

✨Average Food & Service✨ ✨Experience/Service - This was our first time trying this hot pot restaurant and when we walked in we weren’t sure here to go because there was no one to greet us. We saw a sign that said come to the second floor for hot pot, so we did. When we got up there, there was a worker with a pigeon in his hands walking in the restaurant (very strange - and unsanitary!). A waitress came over and took our order and let us know we could order 3 meats at a time. She was friendly and very attentive. When we got back to our tables, they had added our broth to soup bowls, but didn’t give any instructions on how to turn it down if we needed too. We both burned our mouths because the broth was too hot! We had waiters and waitresses check on us frequently, so I did appreciate that! ✨Buffett - They have a really large selection of vegetables and seafood at the buffett! My husband got a clam and said it tasted pretty fishy, but I got several shrimp and they tasted fine! They also have a great selection of sauces. They also have self-serve ice cream. ✨Food - they have a pretty good selection of meats and they seemed like they were good quality. I got the “original house soup” and my husband got the “Chinese Hot Pot HuoGuo” (mala spice). He said his was pretty watered down but had good flavor! Mine didn’t have a lot of flavor so I ended up adding chili oil. ✨Cost - We went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. They charge dinner price $28.99 on Saturday, Sunday, and holidays no matter the time. 15% gratuity is included in every check, no matter the party size. ✨Overall, we had a pretty average Hot Pot experience, and because it was so pricy, we probably won’t be back.

Cooking your own food at the table is always fun with the family! The atmosphere was excellent and the customer service was impeccable. The food was fresh, tasty and vivid. Definitely recommend for a change of pace. The pricing is high but certainly worth it.

This place was amazing!!!! Its all you can eat, very flavorful. You make your own hotpot soup with sauces and other ingredients. The fish cakes are wonderful, house soup is great for adding flavors in and making it your own. Pork belly was fantastic. Their sweet chili sauce was out of this world. 😋 Highly recommend. They don't have storage for leftovers, but also only charge per Head. We ordered 2 rounds of meat

We went around 4pm and it was a very nice atmosphere. The meat the brought out had a great color and tasted better. I liked that They cared about hygiene and etc. Will have to wear mask and gloves when picking food. The house spicy special sauce was great! The ice cream was nice a rich with not watered down taste. I really liked the Chinese base. And nice cold rice wine to go with the hotpot on that cold day. Worth the price but be sure not to waste food because you will be charged!but all in all Perfect!

Love coming to Shabro! All the food is always fresh and very delicious. I always get chicken as my meat, but my husband loves the steak. Also the noodles are always fresh as well. They have 2 different broth chicken or original. The downfall, the waitress sometimes takes a little long, but it’s always prompting. Also, since you have to go up the stairs and I believe they don’t have an elevator, might be hard if you ever visit and need assistance to go up the stairs. Other than that! Love the broth!

What a fun experience! It's so nice each person can choose their own broth flavor. The meat selection and quality was really good. The veggie, seafood, dumpling bar was huge! Such a great selection. Also lots of sauces to enhance your meal. We didn't get a chance to try the scoop yourself icecream, but we definitely will next time. Overall, great experience, and wonderful staff.

What a hidden gem located upstairs in the old theater. There are individual nooks or tables in the open. Huuuuge buffet with spinach, corn on the cob, sprouts, carrots, broccoli, all types of noodles from glass, ramen, udon, etc, tofu, crab, clams, mussels, crawfish, squid, several items I'm not sure what they were but tasted good, and then a whole other buffet line for dipping sauces: sweet and spicy chili, peanut, soy, ponzu ( my favorite) . One could make a meal out of just the buffet without the meat! There is chocolate and vanilla ice cream if for some wild reason dinner wasn't enough. Staff came around just the right amount for privacy but also to fill up water. Delightfully healthy experience and we're sure to return.

TLWR: This is probably my favorite hot pot place in Dallas that I have tried so far. Food: 5/5 Shabro had the largest selection of food that I have seen for a hot pot location. I tried a majority of the options and was surprised at how fresh everything was. When you sit down, you are asked to select a soup base and your first three group of meats. I had the house soup base and my girlfriend had the Chinese soup base. I recommend the Chinese one as it was well spiced and seasoned. Additionally, we ended up not ordering any additional meats as we enjoyed the buffet of vegetables and seafood available to us. Service: 4/5: There wasn't much that the service could do but they did not do a good job of keeping our water topped off. However, they were very prompt when I pressed the button at the side of the table to ask for service. Overall. I had no complaints. Overall: This has become my favorite hot pot place in Dallas. I plan on visiting often as the weather becomes cooler.

We love this place. We wonder why the one in Frisco closed so we made the trip out here. While it is rather expensive it doesn't nickel and dime you with stuff like 1.50 for a sauce bar like other hot pot places. The grab your own bar contains plenty in itself and that's where they get you. You fill up leaving little room for the delicious thinly sliced meats. Also the reason why we like it over other places is that each person gets their own hot pot.

We arrived at midnight after a concert. The owner was there alone and still got us seated and ready to eat! They were busy, but the food was still perfect! A great place for late night food runs. The outside is definitely sketchy, but once you’re inside it’s a very homey Korean dining experience.
