Review Aloha Hawaiian Barbecue - Dallas

A small restaurant with great dishes. Their Hawaiian BBQ Short Ribs is my favorite. You can also add a fried egg to your meal (you should be so hungry in that case šŸ˜‰). Lastly, I think you can feel a Hawaiian sprit in both the food and in the the restaurant atmosphere.

first time trying it and it was good food. Had the spicy chicken, that although, could have been spicier, we very good

Food is amazing and fresh. Lupia was crisped to perfection. The chicken was moist, not dry. Beef and short ribs just as good.

Nice selection of food with great prices. The portions are amazing. The aloha sauce is my favorite, I didn't care much for the spicy and sour. There are several Hawaiian juices that are amazing and different. It was quiet when I came, and there is ample seating. The table and the napkins dispenser we were at looked like they needed to be wiped down, maybe a little dusting would be beneficial. The chicken combo is so delicious and enough food for a lunch and a snack later. Bought two lunch combos and two juices and spent about $28, will definitely return.

Just happened upon this place while planning to check out a movie with the younger sibling. He picked it out and I'm so glad he did. It's unassuming and very casual, but it's so worth the trip. I loved the beef combo and the barbecue chicken as well. The rice was cooked perfectly the first time, but for some reason my second visit it was slightly less exceptional, but still good. The macaroni salad always makes me sad I don't get more than one scoop. Next time I might see if I can substitute a scoop of rice for an extra mac salad scoop. Give it a shot! I'll definitely be back again and again.

I live down the street and come here regularly. Absolutely fantastic food. The chicken katsu is my go-to. Large portions, great flavor, decent pricing, and fast service.

This place is good but sometimes it's dirty. Also they take forever to make your order. It's always new people so I can't really say anything about the staff but they seem friendly. Short ribs, sliced beef, and spicy pork chop is what we get in the family meal almost every time. The price isn't too bad either. With all that being said go as a group and make sure to try the aloha sauce over the white rice they give you

This place is INCREDIBLE! I can't believe the size of the portions either! For $10 I had lunch AND dinner. Great atmosphere and the workers are all really cool. I had the Katsu. Simply amazing. The breading was light and crispy and the chicken was cooked to perfection. My co-workers and I will definitely be back. Thanks! šŸ¤™šŸ¤™šŸ¤™šŸ¤™

This local gem offers an authentic taste of the Hawaiian Islands with its great food, reasonable prices, and warm hospitality. The owner's genuine aloha spirit sets the tone as soon as you enter. I will definitely be back to try more of their dishes. The Hawaiian drinks are a tasty unique touch. It's the perfect place to go for a taste of Hawaii. Mahalo nui loa!

I was born and raised in Hawaii and have been living away from there for about 8 years. I think I am pretty critical of places serving Hawaii Plate Lunch (NOT the same as authentic Hawaiian Food) as I believe most people from Hawaii would be. Even in Hawaii I'm picky about where I want to get a plate lunch from. I got to try Aloha Hawaiian BBQ. Before going I looked over the menu and was intrigued as they have a nice selection of plates that you would see in Hawaii as opposed to some of these "Hawaiian" chains that you see popping up everywhere Bro! Got to try the spicy grilled chicken, kalbi, fried fish, kalua pig, and lumpia. Everything was so tasty, the kalua was on point, as good as you can get at Highway Inn, Young's, or Yama's. The spicy pork, reminded me of Gina's BBQ chicken. I don't drink juice, but they have a good selection of Aloha Maid drinks. I definitely recommend this to anyone missing Hawaii Plate lunch, or anyone who is interested in trying what a real Hawaii Plate Lunch is about.

Aloha Hawaiian Barbecue in Dallas is my spot for some seriously good Hawaiian BBQ chicken and beef. And let me tell you, their macaroni salad is top-notch. If you're in the mood for these Hawaiian classics, this place nails it every time. Highly recommended!

Massive portions of food. Delicious as always. Been coming here for years while in town for business and theyā€™re always friendly. Itā€™s like being in Hawaii

Love this place! Wife and I have been coming here since before the whole Hawaiian bbq craze. Nothing beats the macaroni salad and the loco moco! The kuala pork! šŸ§‘ā€šŸ³šŸ¤Œ. All in all great food!

This place is pretty good! The food is made promptly and they give you a lot for just $9. I got the Hawaiian Barbecue Chicken, which came with a ton of rice and macaroni salad. I didnā€™t care for the macaroni salad (cause I donā€™t like mayo), but the rice was cooked perfectly. The chicken was amazing! Didnā€™t need any extra sauce, it was already nicely seasoned, juicy, moist, and tender. They also have some homemade sauces, too, which I thought was cool. I will definitely be back to try some other menu items. Check it out for yourself!

The spam musubi, the chicken katsu and short ribs were good. They had good flavor and tasted like back home. However, the kalua pig, teri beef, and the mac salad were dreadful. The pig was fatty and needed flavor. The teri beef had no flavor and was a little tough and dry like liver dry. The mac salad was just macaroni and missing the other components that make a good mac salad. Most of all it did not taste like Best Foods or Hellman's Mayo which is what is used back home. Bonus points for having ice cold Hawaiian Sun Strawberry Guava in stock. We will give them another chance down the road because today may have been an off day.

I went here a few weeks ago while visiting a family member at UT Southwestern. This place is the real deal! They have a Hawaiian radio station playing, serve Hawaiian drinks that you can only get in Hawaii or on amazon. The plates are very big and full of flavor. My favorite plate to get is a combo plate, but if youā€™d like a tad bit smaller, they have mini meals. The mini meals are still pretty big in true Hawaiian plate lunch fashion. Their sauces were very tasty. We also had an order of banana lumpia we enjoyed it tremendously. Canā€™t wait to go back again!

If you know local food in Hawaii, you need to come here. I ordered the Chicken Katsu plate, not sure if I would get something close to what I might taste from L&L. I found that this place is legit. They serve the same plate lunches you get back home. It's a bit of Hawaii in Texas. If you are in Dallas and want food you would eat in Hawaii, or if you are just curious about what foods are popular in the islands, this is where you need to eat. Check it out.

When I requested for Aloha Shoyu the sent me a water downed type of Katsu sauce. And when I complained I was informed that what they sent me was Aloha Shoyu. The Terri beef was dry and no flavor. Mac salad wasn't good either.

Went to UH! best Hawaiian Barbecue place in Texas ..will definitely be back!! #grinds

Kalua pig didnā€™t taste good , they used a sauce. It was sweet . Need to learn how to make it if they going call it hawaiian. BBQ beef was bad and the Mac salad plain .

Disappointed a little, good price on the Aloha Maid juices but didnā€™t care for the Katsu.

It was good, miss my Hawaiian food. Was disappointed didn't have Lau Lau.

OMG!!! This is my first time ordering and will not be my last. I had an issue with my first uber eats order (they had the wrong number on file), so I called the restaurant and they worked things out for me with no issues. Now, that I have my food I can say they have a new customer for life! I ordered the BBQ Beef and BBQ Chicken and they are both sooooo better than I would have expected. I will be ordering again very soon. Thanks guys!

Huge portions of wonderful food! Customer service was also really great!

I love when I can go there and it's really a blessing to have this restaurant in Dallas not so far away from where I live and reasonably affordable too. Lots of yummy food and friendly service too. My Husband love when we can make it over there. Not always in the area. Wish they had more business in there. Used to be when I went in there before the place was nearly full of people. God bless you all. We'll be back for sure.

Delicious! The only thing is that it is hard to get to as it seems like Lemmon/Inwood is always congested.

The guys always do it right here. I love the loco Moco and spam musubi.

Absolutely loved the experience, and the food. Nothing but love. God bless!
