I ordered 12 piece family chicken meal spicy but they only gave me 8 spicy and 4 mild since they were about to close. They did ask me if that was ok and I did agree and didn’t want to inconvenience the people that work there. I guess that’s ok but I certainly did not get 100% of what I really want.
Contrary to what many other reviewers mentioned, the lobby was open when I picked up my online order at 6 PM. The process was quick and painless, and I was in and out within 2 minutes. The food was the usual Popeye's quality that was expected.
The Popeye's Chicken sign out front should be replaced, though. It's so faded, people driving by might think they've shut down permanently.
Okay... so, I'd just about given up on Popeye's until I'd walked into this location. For years, from the Mississippi coast to the Dallas metroplex, Popeye's had truly lost my respect. Over the years, the franchise had gone from my preferred dining choice to a definite last option... only choosing to eat there if the store was really close and I was strapped for time. The chain's service and food quality had completely fallen off over the years in my opinion. BUT... a ray of hope shined through on that notion when I'd taken a chance and walked into the store in Plano (Preston Rd @hwy 161). The service was fast and friendly, the food was piping HOT & delicious, and the store was SUPER CLEAN! Kudos to the management and team at this location for giving me my best experience at a Popeye's store in YEARS 😁
As soon as I step foot into this location, I was greeted with a smile and a “be with you in one moment, after the individual finished helping the drive thru, he thanked me for my patience and immediately asked how can I help you? I had a coupon for “Dine for two” 5 piece chicken or tenders with 2 sides for 9.99.He summarized the transaction for accuracy then efficiently and politely processed my order. When I received my food, it’s melted and looked as delicious as the Popeyes commercial. I applaud Popeyes store location 5961 and the general manager Bruce for his professionalism. Keep up the good work!

My daughter & I have never been to Popeyes & was only going there to buy a gift card. While we were there I asked how their chicken sandwich rated within the chicken sandwich competition? The manager smiled & said Popeyes is the best. I was surprised he was so confident so we order one just to try for ourselves. Please note I don’t get easily impressed, especially over fast food. The sandwich was actually big in size. Everything from the buns to the pickles were fresh & so good. Even the batter surprised me bc it had really good flavor.. not salty like most batter. The size of the chicken filled the whole bun & there were plenty of pickles it seemed like there was a pickle in every bite. I was shocked how good it was! But not all locations are the same. My daughter liked it so much she went to another location & it was a complete disappointment. The sandwich was soggy & old. We went back to this location right before they were closing & was wondering if it would still be just as good especially since it was 20 mins from closing. I was thinking we might get old sandwiches but to our surprise.. it was just as fresh, hot & delicious!! This is our favorite location now! The staff is very nice & the food is pretty amazing for fast food. We actually got to meet the manager as well who was super helpful & very nice. If you are near Preston RD & I90 I recommend swinging by. You won’t be disappointed.
I'm from Houston and was in Dallas for 2 months for work. I ate here once a week. The food was ALWAYS delicious hot and fresh! This is real Popeyes chicken and the owner and staff gave great service. It never disappointed. 5 STARS!!!!!
Best fried chicken sandwich anywhere - even beats out CFA. The red beans and rice, biscuits, Mac and cheese are the best. I go here WAY too often! Lol I’ll go tomorrow just because writing this review has me craving it again!

There are two locations near me. This location never disappoints me. I decided to stop by for the Big Box Special for a quick lunch. The young lady at the drive thru. Was so friendly and made my day. My food was fresh, hot and delicious. When I arrived home to enjoy. This location always has very friendly service. Makes me feel they do appreciate me being a customer. When I am in craving for Delicious Fried Chicken and sides. This location is the one to come too. Happy Customer!!
