Review Dodie's - Dallas

Mrs. Erika L. Jones
I walked in and had on sweats and a cap... I said it was my 1st time there and didn't receive anything about what might be great on the menu... The only waitress looked at me as if I was foreign. She made no conversation with me, but did with other guests. The food was amazing!! But I am a first timer and enjoy the full dining experience no matter what I had on and I felt rushed by the bartender. The service sucked and they didn't even ask me to return or have a nice day for that matter. I went Sunday afternoon.

This place is sooo cute and i love the rooftop patio with the music overlooking Greenville. I got the boudin balls, oyster Rockefeller, and the Monica pasta with the spirila noodles (shrimp). The balls are 1 star, we didn’t eat 1. Tasted a pice and left them. The oysters were just ok. The cheese looked like it was there but it wasn’t cheesing and the sauce (i think garlic butter) wasn’t saucing at all. My daye said they tasted undercooked and refused to eat them. The pasta tho!!!!! Came out piping hot but when it cooled down it was seasoned to perfection, you could see the cheese pull when picking it up, it was delicious!!! I would go back just to try different menu options but the atmosphere alone was enough. Parking is to the right of the building on the side street.

Dodie’s is pretty tasty! & service was stellar I was in awe when Melissa our server handled all our orders meticulously and even had the exact to go orders on hand for every DoorDasher that came through the door ! Blackened redfish , the Boudin balls, & grilled seafood tamales were so good!

One of my favorites places to go, to vibe have good drinks and food. You can sit wherever, servers were quick to acknowledge us, management came around to make sure we were good. Definitely see myself becoming a regular. Recommend the Cajun coke slaw.

Great ambiance with outdoor seating. Waitstaff is amazing and very attentive. The food was delicious. Gumbo had lots of flavor, but my favorite was the blackened seafood nachos.

The food was great tasting and the service is prompt. I used to go there in the past and the bourbon glazed salmon is one dish that never dissappoints. Also the cajun wings taste amazing. Their drinks are ok, not great but decent and fairly priced. Be aware of the change in menu, the old menu is still available on google, to get to the current one, have to get on their website. A lot of the old dishes like fried calamari or the seared ahi tuna are not included anymore.

The food is crazy, local ranch meat. Servers are great and attentive. Dodies is a great spot to come watch sports during the season and to bring in friends/family/coworkers for lunch or dinner

Food reminds me of back home. Best Cajun food in Dallas. Great music. Great atmosphere. Easily the best bar in Dallas. 10/10 recommend.

Great Cajun place with bar, delicious food, polite and attentive staff, and with rooftop seating available. Something about eating dinner high up, quite enjoyable. I strongly recommend the Pasta Monica. Menu says its spicy but it's actually a bit mild, which was perfect because it lets the savory flavors shine. Will be back for that pasta!

We were supposed to meet up with friends for dinner, but they went to the Dodies in Rockwall. I'm glad our GPS lead us to this one. The atmosphere was somewhat lively and the bar had a great vibe going on. They had plenty of big screens to watch the game. Our server was great, she offered a few suggestions and explained the menu items well. We ordered the shrimp and crawfish nachos, red beans and sausage with rice and the salmon with potatoes and sausage. Every bite was delicious and on point. I have to say it did not disappoint at all and look forward to going back and bringing our friends next time.

This is a true treasure of Dallas! I ❤ the food here! 💯 delicious authentic food with the best hospitality. I come here frequently for lunch/dinner randomly. Today I had a craving for their fried combo plate. Midway pics so you can see how flaky and perfectly cooked the fish is, I highly recommend this place and im always leaving feeling happy and satisfied!

This is a gem on Greenville Ave.! Justin the manager and Katie the server were both a delight. AND THE FOOD!! The salad with the house parmesan dressing was quick, crisp and full of flavor. The catfish, shrimp and pickles were all fried crispy and delicious with the Perfect amount of cajun seasonings. The Pasta Monica was incredible with perfectly grilled chicken in a creamy, slightly spicy sauce. Even the hushpuppies were phenomenal! And don't EVEN get me started on the Texas Beignets!! With all of that cinnamon sugar perfection coating a light fried piece of heaven and REAL honey to dip it in. I mean really, if you have Nothing else to eat, have this!! And to find that the ingredients are mostly locally sourced made me happy to devour all my tummy could hold! A must visit spot!

I went to a Cajun restaurant and ordered a burger and fries. The burger was fantastic and they use good bacon on it. No complaints.

The service was beyond amazing. The staff helped accommodate the menu for my little picky eaters as well as being pescatarian. Touring the state we were unfamiliar with some items on the menu but gladly gave it all a try the food was delicious the service was fast, friendly, informative highly recommend. A fun welcoming vibe

The blackened fish risotto was delicious!! There was a ton of shrimp and sausage. My boyfriend had the oyster Rockefeller. He said they were a little over cooked but good. The alligator was good but a little salty. The drinks were excellent. I'll definitely visit again.

This place is kind of a dive but the food is fantastic. Make sure you eat at this place. When we were there there was a hockey game on and the place was packed. We had a large party of 9 and they checked on us numerous times and were quick to respond to our requests. The service was absolutely GREAT. I highly recommend this place.

Cajun Country Sports bar serving basic New Orleans fare in fun, TV filled bar/restaurant.

SIGHT: Great outdoor patio, open bar and restaurant. Booths, high tables, and several large TV's make this a great place to catch a game. LSU game day watch spot.

SOUND: Busy for a Thursday evening! Bar and outdoor patio were crowded at 8 pm.

TOUGH: Clean enough.. for a bar

SMELL: N/A

TASTE:

1 lb of hot boiled shrimp- peel n eat and delicious. Shrimp were a bit small but not overboiled. Not overly buttery and the spice mix had great flavor and a kick of heat. the boiled potatoes soaked up the juices well. Side of steamed vegetables were average and covered in butter.

House salad w/ ranch dressing- basic but still tasty.
Comes with the fried plate for $1.00 more.
House slaw- large chunks of crunchy red cabbage in a vinegar garlic dressing. A little sloppily served but still tasty.

Fried Plate- fried oysters and chicken tenders on a bed of tasty French fries. Hand breaded juicy oysters were plump and large. Hand breaded crisp chicken tenders were fresh and not frozen. Ample tartar sauce, cocktail sauce and ranch dressing provided. I would come back for this.
Almost Veggies
While sitting on the patio this past Sunday, a man did the unthinkable by repeatedly referring to our server as none other than– sugar . Who does this in 2014? We were prepared to witness a customer-server spanking before drink delivery. Saying sugar instead of your server’s name is not OK with your server. This guy is clearly guilty of committing a manly voice violation. It was really weird when the same server called me honey while ordering sautéed shrimp instead of fried. She continued with a couple of other sentences before amazingly naming me— sugar . What is up with that? There’s no way she can get away with being offended by the offender if she’s using synonyms of equal shadiness only seconds before dropping the sugar bomb. We all had to not feel sorry for her anymore the second she became one of them. All I’m saying is our table unnecessarily destroyed a few molecules worrying about her feelings. That’s all. Nowadays I say, “Is the shrimp fried in the same grease chicken and ot
