Review St Martin's Wine Bistro - Dallas

I insanely love this place it is so beautiful inside. The food is always delectable. The champagne brie soup is my favorite thing to get. I could literally just go in for the soup itself. They have so many things on their menu that are just beyond delicious. The wait staff is amazing. I love to go in and hear the Piano being played. I love the whole experience.

I went this place to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and that was the best decision I have ever made! Waiter and staffs were phenomenal. This was my first French restaurant and dishes ever, but my waiter was very kind explaining the menu. The restaurant itself is lovely and cozy. You can listen to the live piano after 1830 I guess, but for me, I would recommend to be on opening time cuz it's quiet and not crowded. Entree (duck and bourguignon) were good enough, the brie soup was amazing(I would revisit here for this soup!!!!) and my creme brûlée and chocolate soufflé were perfect! So far, this place is the best restaurant in Dallas for me. Best Service, best food, best vibe and mood

Amazing atmosphere, with live piano music playing. The food was above expectations and the waiter knew everything detail of the menu. Manager and staff made sure that my first experience was more than spectacular. Highly recommend.

This was the first time we have visited St. Martins. The service was flawless, people filled our water before it was half empty, the waitress was very attentive without being overbearing, and our table was ready upon arrival. They also had live piano music which created a lovely atmosphere. The special of seafood newburg was the most delicious thing I have tasted. If you're in Dallas come to this restaurant which has been open for 44 years!

I don't come to Dallas often but I heard of this place a few years ago when it showed up on US News Top 10 Most Romantic Restaurants in America, really excited that Texas made the list! I bookmarked it then and finally had the opportunity to come by. It so happened that the neighborhood was having a block party and the St. Patrick's parade was happening so all of the streets leading to the restaurant were closed off. I called to let them know we'd be passed our 15 minute grace period for the reservation and they were very understanding. We showed up after parking quite a distance away, they kept our reservation and even surprised us by escorting us to the much desired alcove table at the back, said it was for the difficulties we had in making it! Their wine menu is extensive and there are bottles priced at both ends of the spectrum so take a look! We went for the Acacia Pinot noir, ordered the seafood crepe for starters, really delicious! Couldn't experience St. Martin's without their signature champagne Brie soup! On the food can't say much that hasn't been said already but if you're a dessert person please try the Almond ball! Perfect to finish the night.

Our absolutely favorite restaurant! Has been our go to special place for over 34 years and we're sad to see it closing but looking forward to the seeing new location. St Martin has just the right ambiance, spectacular service, and we've never had a bad meal.

St.Martin’s wine bristro is a nice restaurant to eat at. It’s very cozy, warm and very inviting. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and courteous. I enjoyed my date night with my wife and the food was very good and fullfilling. I encourage everyone to come eat here you will not leave there disappointed.

Took my girlfriend here for a date night and it was our first time here. Wow this was a fantastic meal and my girlfriend said this was the best meal she had ever had in her life, no joke! I ordered the Duck and she had the Beef Bolognese, it was all fantastic!!! We will definitely be back here. We also met a couple who had celebrated their anniversary here for 38 years. They also never let your water cup go dry, the service here is exceptional!!

Very nice evening with my wife. Ambience was very romantic. A gentleman plays nostalgic piano and is quite the character. Wait staff attentive but not in you face. Food was very good. Highly recommended

Enjoyed the food. Well prepared. I enjoyed the desert soufflé though my wife did not care for it. Be sure to make reservations. I did notice that while reservations were for online the restaurant in a large back dining area did not seem full. The more popular closer to the piano area was full on a Saturday evening and pretty loud (normal busy dinner loud). If you want a quieter dining experience ask to be seated in the back dining room area

I got a reservation for a small birthday dinner with my partner and friends, and we had an amazing time. We arrived early and sat at the bar, and the bartender served us the best tasting martinis, cosmos, and old fashioned drinks. He explained to us why St. Martins drinks taste better than other restaurants and it's because of the authentic ingredients they use. We got a nice lesson in what truly makes for a great cocktail from our bartender who is probably more of a mixologist. After we we had a couple of drinks, we were seated and ordered the Escargots, Champagne Brie Soup, and Caesar Salad as appetizers and they were fantastic. For our entrees, we ordered the Lemon Sole, Seared Diver Scallops with Spinach and Grand Marnier sauce, Lobster Thermidor with Shrimp, Crab, and Scallop in a Bechamel sauce, and finally the Grilled Rack of Lamb. Our bartender/server picked a wonderful French Pinot Noir to pair with our meal and also mixed a couple of bourbon drinks we had not tried before. Everything was served at the perfect temperature and cooked to perfection. Our friends could not believe the food tasted so good. They were right! It was one of the best meals I have had at St. Martins ever. After our meal, my partner was served a birthday dessert plate which included a Godiva White Chocolate Cheesecake, Chocolate Terrine, Raspberry Glaze and a lit candle to celebrate. Our friends were blown away by the dessert and after everything they said it was one of the best dining experiences they ever had. I agree, it was for us as well!

The food was excellent and the service impeccable! I’ve never eaten there before so when they mentioned the Brie & Champagne soup had been on the menu for 40 years... I had to have it! I was NOT disappointed! It was amazing! And the bread was to die for!! So was the rest of my meal... Parmesan crusted Sea Bass! 😍 Foodie Heaven!!

What a wonderful gem. True old world class that never disappoints. The food is spectacular and is only eclipsed by the service. Best kept secret? Happy hour. Small plates at the bar with an impressive wine list by the glass. Miranda is especially delightful. On my regular list!

A wonderful place to have an intimate dinner with your significant other. The dining was excellent and the ambience was over the top. Piano player in the front room wooing and playing subtle dinner selections. It was a five star experience and we will definitely return. Thank you for having us.

Came here on a date night and we were very pleased with everything from the start. The reservation request that we had made was adhered to, the wine selection is wonderful and the waiter helped us make a great choice. Both of the soup options were wonderful, and then of course the meals and desserts were fantastic.Add in the ambiance and the live piano music and this place is a wonderful gem that I think we will definitely being going back to in the future.

Great place for date night. The ambiance is romantic. The live piano player is such a nice touch. The wine list is reasonably priced, and the food is delicious. You must try the champagne Brie soup!

Romantic, classy setting; exceptional food! The lobster bisque was "to die for," the seared scallops were exquisite, and the chateaubriand was excellent. Quite the extensive wine menu as well. Impeccable service!

Went for our anniversary dinner and it couldn't have been better. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere intimate, great piano music and, most of all, dinner was excellent.

My family has been coming here for years because of the amazing kitchen staff, pianist, and knowledgeable wait staff. We love the environment and menu items. I will always have wonderful memories of this restaurant.

My wife & I found this place about 5 or 6 years ago when Restaurant week was on & haven't stop going back since. If you want great food & great service, then this is your place.

The best value restaurant in the Dallas area. Piano music, food and service is awesome. Our favorite.

Decided to try out this Dallas staple for our anniversary. The champagne brie and escargot are must haves. This restaurant is romantic, quaint, and quiet. Great wine list and decent service. The soufflé was amazing. I would recommend this restaurant and plan to return.

The "most romantic restaurant in Dallas" certainly lived up to its billing. Low light, ambience, superb/knowledgeable wait staff, fabulous and tasty food, beautifully presented. A live pianist who played beautifully through our experience. A "not to miss" experience.

Loved it! Went for boyfriend's birthday. He got a glass of pinot noir and I a cappuccino, smoked salmon appetizer, lobster bisque, grilled lamb and diver scallops. The smoked salmon appetizer was amazing, it was a build it yourself ensemble of ingredients. We spent a little more than $100 and were stuffed by the end of it.
Very romantic, although a little hard to read the menu. The pianist is great. He was there even on a Monday!

I've been twice with a few years in between. Usually there's some gap in consistency, but not here. The food was stellar the first time, stellar this time. The service is what you'd expect for a place like this, superb. The people know how to pamper. It is a bit expensive, but it's wonderful French cuisine and service and to be expected. I gave an extra .5 because for my madre's 60th birthday my brother surprised her from New Zealand and they totally accommodated us. Big group, big surprise, big smiles all around. Thanks guys.

Awesome Valentine's Dinner. Visited the Bistro on Valentine's Day, so the menu was limited. Loved it. Had the chateaubriand and she had the Steak Diane. Both were excellent. The house champagne soup is pretty awesome, highly recommend it.m the chocolate cake was also excellent..

Two years ago my Sweet mother recommended this place for a delightful dining experience! We come back as often as possible. This month they have a 37th anniversary special going on and they have an appetizer, entree, and desert with whine bottle for $37 per person!!!! Anyway, their food always blows me away!!!!! The atmosphere is very romantic. Why are you still reading this??? GO THERE!!!

Sunday brunch is outstanding. It's a three course menu and all three made me want to come back for brunch every day! The restaurant is romantic and there was a very talente live pianist there. The service was excellent, attentive and appropriate for the restaurant. Some people were dressed in Sunday best and others merely jeans and a t-shirt.

Vive La France!. Traditional and very good French fare at this quaint little bistro. The champagne soup is good but in my opinion doesn't live up to its reputation. Ah, but the foie gras is like a little slice of heaven! It is silky smooth and buttery, with a wonderfully almost sweet (not gamy at all) flavor with the slightest hint of liver. Perfectly seared and with a delicious port reduction. This is the real deal folks, Goose foie, not the inferior duck foie gras that everyone else tries to pass off. It makes a big difference. Goose is so much smoother and subtle in flavor, duck tends to be harsher and has a bitter end note. I'm sure there are plenty of other good dishes to be had, but for me the excellent foie gras alone, makes the trip worthwhile....and I live in El Paso!

Great Service / Great Food. I have been eating at St. Martins for the past 6 years and it rarely disappoints. The Mgr John is always pleasant to speak with and the ambience is like nothing else in the area, quiet piano playing, dark, low lights. The Mussels are the best around..Highly recommended : )

Realtor. I start visiting this fabulous restaurant a year a go and since then i love it.The Mediterranean mussels are the best in town, with Cilantro sea bass in blue agave sauce as an entree is the perfect dinner for me.
the place is very romantic with a live piano, and the service is always impeccable and the most friendly.
I definitively recommended to anyone.

Absolute favorite!!!. Visiting Dallas in 1998 and discovered this true gem! When I moved here the following year, this became my most favorite place. I have always been treated like royalty. The entire staff is outstanding . Several atmosphere options (very romantic and private to brighter group dining or piano bar)
The food... Every person in this world should experience Champagne Brie soup..no other restaurant can prepare this as St. Martin's does... The Tournedos, Steak au Poive, Thermidor are my favorites. I've had most everything on the menu over the years. It's always been divine... Never skip dessert!
I Love this place!!!

I got the trout with shrimp, and it was the biggest trout I have ever ordered at a restaurant. It was delicious

Great Food. A group of 8-10 of us ate here in October before the OU-TX football game. Everyone got something different and no one was disappointed. The champagne soup was very good and rich. The crab cakes were wonderful as was the Escargot. All the entrees were fabulous. We loved it!
