Cozy place. Chill atmosphere. Fresh guacamole was good. Had the lengua and al pastor tacos. Good! Salsa is nice and spicy. Michelada was excellent. Mezcal flights were small but pack a punch. We enjoyed the jicama and clamato that comes with flights to cleanse the palette between shots. Came on a Thursday evening no live music :-(
My husband and I look forward to going here anytime we have a show at Fair Park to attend (it's right across from the fairgrounds). On our recent visit, we sat at the bar and had awesome service and drinks! Bartender Pablo and GM Jay were very knowledgeable and friendly. The chips with salsa and guac was the perfect afternoon snack. The chips are nice and thick and well salted! I've had tacos and such on previous visits and it's all good- but maybe a little more casual than you would expect for such and impressive bar. Drinks sampled included the featured cocktail (Tamarindo Montenegro), Cereza Mula, Nuez Cafe (their take on an espresso martini) and Noche de Desierto. All were delish but my personal favorite was the featured drink! We will surely be back!
This place was recommended by a friend and it lived up to the hype! For drinks, We got the mangonadas and it was delicious! This is probably the best Mezcal based cocktail I have had in Dallas! It was very refreshing! We also tried the Taco plate with the Al-pastor and Carnitas Tacos! Their serving size is four tacos and they are served with amazing salsas on the side! I specially liked the Al-pastor it was very well seasoned! We also got Guac and Chicharonnes and it was very filling! The service was amazing and very efficient! The music and atmosphere makes you feel like your in Mexico! Overall this is a great place to catch up and grab drinks with great food! Definitely worth trying!!
The food was good, drinks were strong and atmosphere was nice. It was definitely a nice spot to come down and have a good meal in a lively place. Be wary though, this place fills up very quick and there is not much seating.
My go to destination for Mezcal when I visit Dallas! Staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable and selection is unmatched! Highly recommend for those who like to broaden their spirit horizon!
Where do I begin my love story with Las Alma’s Rotas….
A few years ago my friend and I stumbled upon this place because we love margs. As we sat down at the bar I realized we were in a bar with an outrageous mezcal program.
After one delicious margarita I asked a bartender for a pechuga flight, something I knew little about and wanted to know more. Right away he was excited to help me and we worked within my price range to put something adventurous together.
Fast forward 2 years and all the while I began following Las Almas on social media and I began to understand how much work they put into this program. The travel, the education, the communication… I grew an immense amount of respect.
So when my husband had to travel to Dallas for work I tagged along to come to this bar.
For three days in a row, that’s exactly what i did. For those three visits I was greeted by not only the most knowledgeable staff, but also the friendliest. They know the products, they want to teach the patrons who want to know but can make great cocktails for those who don’t.
The amount of work and dedication that goes into what this bar is doing is incredible and if you love agave spirits you need to go. Make the trip to Dallas, or if you’re a local, go learn!
It’s been a week and I am already missing this place so much.
Been wanting to go here since I first moved here a little over a year ago and finally made it over! It did not disappoint. I had heard of the large tequila and mezcal selection and it was quite impressive. I got a margarita and they asked if I wanted something specific in it so I ordered it with a certain mezcal that was recommended by someone in my group. The mezcal was excellent and the margarita was excellent.
The tacos were also really good. The tortillas are fantastic, sourced form Molino who is awesome and they do heirloom corn tortillas with tradiontional methods. An order of 4 is $14 and you can pick two styles. Me and a friend ordered different ones so we each got to try 4 different tacos (carnitas, lengua, Al pastor and carne asada). The carnitas was by far my favorite. The green salsa was also excellent. The lengua and pastor were good, not the best I’ve ever had but good, would get again. The carne asada was ok, the meat was tender but lacked the seasoning and flavor I expect from carne asada. But all in all, enjoyed the tacos!
And better yet, the restaurant is all dolled up for the holiday season and just gives it that something extra special!
Hands down, Las Almas Rotas is the best place to go as you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu both drink and food-wise. If you like to support local small business go visit, especially during State Fair time. The fair takes over their parking so go spend time at the fair, when you’re exhausted near the end of the day, you walk across the street and take a nice break with a good drink and some good food. Then you can go hit round 2 of the fair!
I really love this place. It's never to crazy busy but that's the charm of it. You can take a date or a group of friends! The Margaritas are deadly amazing, no more than 3. The food is excellent and you can't go wrong on anything you order!
Me and my partner go here at least once a week, and it never disappoints. The food is fabulous, lots of vegan options, and you can tell it is made with Love. High quality all around !!
