We were very pleased. Friendly staff and comfortable seating. The meat had a mildly smokey flavor with two sauces to compliment the meal - a regular sauce a bit on the sweet side and a hot habanero sauce. Would return without question.
Easy to find with Google maps. Parking is limited especially during lunch and dinners hours. Love their "Fixin'" station and hot bbq sauce counter. I had their large platter with pulled chicken, turkey, and sliced brisket.
First time trying it and I will say that I have had better. Staff was friendly and very clean inside the restaurant and restroom. I loved their sweet tea.
The pork ribs are awesome. Not a dry rub on them, but more of a sweet tangy sauce. The smoke flavor was perfect and not overwhelming. The sliced beef will melt in your mouth. The Staff was great. We will make a return visit on this place for sure. Also very affordable and more than we could eat.
Great place for BBQ, no wonder it's a Dallas Landmark. Awesome brisket and Peach Cobbler
Ordered a family meal to go. Staff was courteous and food was good. We had brisket, ribs, turkey, and sausage. They were all tasteful and moist, perhaps a tad less delicious than the meat from Ten 50 BBQ. The rolls were not as good as the ones from Texas Roadhouse. Overall pretty good value for some bbq nearby.
I was very happy to find this little BBQ spot by mistake. Everything was delicious, though the meat definitely needs sauce because it's a little dry otherwise. The rolls were amazing and the dessert made the meal. Will return!
You can select a combo up to 3 meats and two sides. Brisket, chicken and sausage with Okra we're delicious also served with fresh baked rolls. The beans fell short they were under seasoned and watered down. Peach cobbler was a great finish to the meal.
This is my first time at Sonny Bryan's and it was a Thursday. It was not busy until we left; a baseball team showed up. Service was good. The onion rings, and potato salad was good. The regular green beans where very over cooked and mushy. Must of sat all day. Had the Texas Hill Country brisket and that was very good as was the Sausage and Turkey. I waited a sort time for a roll but it was fantastic. The sides in the kitchen and not on a buffet line which I prefer.
Fast service. Good food. Friendly staff. I usually only get brisket, chicken or occasionally turkey at BBQ places, as I don't eat pork. As far as chain options are concerned, SB is a good bet. The standard brisket sliced is very lean, but moist, though lacking flavor. The hillside or hilltop brisket has a smokier flavor, and is cooked with a dry rub. It's a little more fatty, but doesn't need anything else. Regular sauce is tart and flavorful, and the habenero infused sauce has a nice kick. Overall not as good as the mom and pop shops, but I also don't think what you get at a place like Pecan Lodge is worth the wait or bigger price point compared to Sonny Bryan's. One thing to keep in mind though is that they close at 9pm every night. Not a late night cravings option.
