Review Morton's The Steakhouse - Dallas

Thank you FIONA, for the absolutely great service and hospitality. Everyone made my visit so very special. Thank you MIA for being such a great hostess tonight. I’m sure when you are a Server you do a great job at that too. Delicious lobster ravioli, lobster macaroni and cheese, lobster bisque soup all cooked to perfection. I enjoyed the flavorful sticky toffee bread for dessert. Great atmosphere!

Mortons exceeded our expectations - amazing food, service, and atmosphere. We went there to celebrate our anniversary. When we made reservations, we let them know it was our anniversary. We walked in they hostess and were super friendly. We told them our name and they took a picture of us by the Christmas tree, put it in a little frame for us and it said best wishes with the date. They gave us menues that said happy anniversary. It was not very crowded, a lot of open seats. They came and gave us water right away. Our waitress Kim came and took our order. She told us about the specials, answered all of our questions, and gave us recommendations. After we ordered, Kim asked us what order we wanted the food to come out. She brought us our drinks and gave our son a cup with a protective top. The lobster bisque $16 came out first. It was nice and creamy with a lot of flavor. It was decorated with chunks of fresh lobster. It was very good and comforting. Next, we shared some of their special anniversary A5 wagyu $129 shipped in from Japan. OMG the the best thing ever, I wanted to like my plate. They brought us a jumbo crab cake $24 that was delicious. It came with a Dijon mustard sauce. Next, they brought us our 36 Oz tomahawk ribeye $129 that the three of us shared. They sliced the meat for us, so it was easy to serve among ourselves. The meat was cooked perfectly, tender, had a lot of flavor, and almost melted in your mouth. Kim also brought me a bunch of garlic butter that I could eat with the steak. We had lobster Mac and cheese $27. It was good and had a lot of flavor, but it was a little spicy hot for my taste. We also got frecnh fries $11. They were shoestring, hot crunchy and good. Because it was our anniversary, they gave us a choice of deserts. My wife got key lime pie with vinallie ice cream. My wife said the pie was exceptional, and the ice cream tasted homemade like grandma used to make, yummy. The manager checked in on us twice to see how we were doing. Valiet parking free just privide a tip. The meal came out to $437, which included a couple of cocktails. We used $200 in Landry gift cards that we got from Costco (spend 80 get 100). The night was perfect. The night was perfect. Thank you Kim & Mortons we will definitely be back!

My family took my husband for his birthday and the 1st thing that stood out to me was the customer service Justin our waiter was so dear, he was awesome! Keep up the good work. The atmosphere was pleasant. I had the scallops they were fair.

I wish I could give 10 stars! Every thing was done so special for us. They even printed special menus for us. Morton's really goes the extra mile to make sure your special occasion is truly amazing. The tomahawk ribeye was so juicy and tender. If you get a chance treat yourself to the Japanese A5. This was the best I've had in Dallas. After going to key west we were missing the key lime pie. So this was a great reminder for us. Thank you for such a special night. 🎄🦖🥩🌟

We chose to dine at Morton's to celebrate a 10-year work anniversary and it was an excellent experience. Our server Justin took amazing care of us making sure everything was to our liking and the manager Jarrett was very professional and made the evening even that more special with personalized menus. I would highly recommend Morton's to anyone looking for delicious food and an experience that I'll remember for years to come. We will definitely be back.

Love the dining space. Pretty ambient place but felt little bit crowded due to less gap between tables and also I hope they change the decor inside the restroom. They seem less taken care of. Other than that excellent food and desert along with the staff.

I had the greatest experience at Morton's Steakhouse for my birthday! The food was delicious, the service was A1, and the atmosphere was very classy. Me and my party was well taken care of. I will most definitely be back again.

Not what it used to be but still very good food. We got right in and had the Labor Day Prix Fixe. All of our food was delicious. I had the filet which was so tender I could almost cut it with only my fork, my husband had the lobster ravioli which was amazing as well with hints of lemon. I had creme Brule for dessert which was the best I've had.

Parking at 6pm was great. The ambiance is very romantic, with the warm dim lighting. Our waitress was great, informative of the menu and waited on multiple tables on her own, but still managed to tend to us timely. The food met our expectations, which was great. We had no complaints at all whatsoever. I noticed the parking was worse as we were leaving, so when we do return, it will be around the same time. I didn't notice if valet were an option.

Henry took great care of us tonight! We celebrated our anniversary and everything was great! We had the New York Strip, Lobster Ravioli, mashed potatoes, spinach. The food was great! For desert we had a chocolate lava cake with ice cream. They even took our picture and printed out with a cute card. We will definitely be back!

The food was excellent. Know that the sides are huge and enough for two or three people. The asparagus was larger than I have seen elsewhere. The only disappointment was the service could have been better. The service wasn't horrible but we found ourselves trying to find someone to refill drinks. Also ask if there are specials. After going we found out that they had a special with three courses that we might have chosen.

Celebrated our 16th Wedding Anniversary. Such an extraordinary experience! From the time we arrived until we left was absolutely amazing. The food was delectable, service was professional/pleasing, ambiance romantic/enjoyable. Morton's staff make you feel welcome and comfortable. We were treated like Royalty😊 We will definitely dine here again and recommend this restaurant. Even Management ensured we were satisfied💞

When I was a kid I would always ask my parents if we could go "eat rich", so it became a huge familiy joke, it is still to this day. Well, as it is every time we go to eat at Morton's, we "Ate Rich". And I'm not talking about that in regards to the price. Every time it is perfect! The value of the meal is always spot on. The wait staff is always on point with excellent service and the food was outstanding. The steak was seared to perfection and cooked perfectly to order. The side dishes were deliciously prepared and couldn't have been any better, period. There is no doubt that it was something positive to end what started out as a rough day for me. It doesn't matter if you are going to eat for a special occasion or if you are just going out to eat to treat yourself, Morton's The Steakhouse is one that needs to be at the top of your list to chose from!!

Red snapper with lump crab was the best I have had in years. Very good shrimp, lobster bisque and scallops. Great service. Well worth the trip down town. I must try the steak, I was the only one eating seafood at my table and did not even get to try any of the 4 steaks served to the others with me but all of them tried my seafood.

My Mother's Day dinner was so delicious im stil talking about the best Porterhouse steak ever. I must say the server was on point also.

We LOVE Morton's! As always, the steaks were cooked to perfection. Our server, Ryan, was superb! Very informative and friendly without being intrusive. He was very knowledgeable about the menu, which was refreshing after our last server. I highly recommend the twice baked au gratin potatoes. They are delish!

As always, an excellent dinner with top service. We loved the picture for the special occasion and the molten chocolate cake did not disappoint yet again.

Thanks to incredibly horrible customer service at Perry's, we ate our last-night-in-Dallas Friday night meal here. My husband and I have eaten at the Nashville location, but it was our niece's first time to Morton's. Our server, Ryan, was incredibly detail-oriented. He suggested an amazing drink, something with pineapple. My niece and I had filets -- mine was the special, Wagyu -- and my husband had the lamb. We shared the creamed corn and macaroni & cheese. My husband accidentally spilled a drink, and Ryan brought him another. We finished with molten lava cake, a Grand Marnier soufflé, and a Godiva after-dinner drink. The soufflé was a bit off to me, so I ordered a molten lava cake, as well. (How can you go wrong with molten lava cake?! YUM!) We thank everyone at Perry's who was so hateful to us; thank you for allowing Morton's to send us off from Texas so pleasantly!

3 couples (family) went for Fathers Day Lobster Dinner. Lobster was awesome. Everything else was over-the-top pricey. Sides all extra. Our server was distracted and inattentive. I expected more. Would go again but with a bigger budget.

My wife and I stay in Uptown Dallas frequently and until tonight we have never tried Morton’s on McKinney. It is in a convenient location to the hotel we frequent and after an awesome day watching the Rangers beat the Angels we thought we would give it a try.

I’m not going to go into a lot of detail about the dining or reception areas. They are fine and typical of many of the steakhouses in Dallas. The dining area is nowhere near as nice as Nick and Sam’s for example… more on par with Ruth’s Chris.

Before I get started you should know that I consider myself a fair and balanced food critic. I love hole in the walls and fine dining. Price is not my main criteria.

For an appetizer we ordered the Shrimp Alexander. It was good. My wife as usual ordered the lobster and I ordered the bone in ribeye…. Prime the server said.

I’m not sure what Morton’s definition of prime is. Maybe they order their steaks from Amazon Prime. Maybe they feel like the pay Prime for their beef. All I can tell you is if my steak was graded select it would have been just marginal. If it had been graded choice it would have been disappointing. The fact that Morton’s states that they served me aged prime beef is at best dishonest and more likely fraudulent.

If Morton’s is going to stay in business in Uptown Dallas (and they won’t) then they absolutely must purchase their beef from another vendor or they must far and above upgrade the quality of their steak knives… I recommend something with much deeper serrated edge than the knife they had available tonight. A larger handle would also make holding the knife easier considering the amount of strokes and pressure it will take to make a cut. It should not require no less than five (yes I swear five) firm strokes with a serrated edge steak knife to cut a steak cooked medium.

The sides were just not good. We ordered the Bacon/ onion mac and cheese and the horseradish mash potatoes. Portions were huge but not needed. We both ate one spoon of the mac and cheese and about the same of the potatoes. They were just so marginal that they honestly were just simply not worth ingesting the calories.

I ate about 1/3 of the steak and called it a night. We easily left 3/4 of the sides untouched. The entrees and sides were so marginal to bad that we didn’t give them a shot at dessert. The lobster was ok…. But then again how do you screw up a broiled lobster tail.

We waited 20 or so minutes for our server to bring our ticket, paid and left. I didn’t make a fuss or ask for a manager as honestly what could he do… free dessert… no thanks.

Instead of money a better “tip” would be: To the Chef: find another line of work. For the Staff: look for another place to work. For you the reader: dine elsewhere. If you’re in Uptown Dallas you have choices. Nick and Sam’s, The Palm, even Ruth’s Chris is much, much better.

If your car is broke down on McKinney in Uptown and your waiting on the tow truck and you’re starving… there’s a Smashburger just down the way and it’s much, much better and a couple hundred bucks cheaper than Morton’s The Steakhouse on McKinney in Dallas.

In conclusion it is without a shadow of a doubt the worst $260.00 meal I’ve ever had. It would have been the worst $150.00 dollar meal too if that gives any perspective.

If I had wasted a special occasion on this joint I would have been very upset. If I can keep one person from wasting their time (not to mention the money) here; especially considering your other options, then I will have made my point.

My wife made me add; if you end up at Morton’s against your will… get the Cadillac Margarita as it was quite good.

Delectable meal - appetizers to desserts. Exceptional service. Even the valet service is noteworthy. Complementary photographs for patrons celebrating a special occasion or upon request. They write the book on how to run a remarkable restaurant. While it is a steakhouse, they have some other incredible entrées like crab cakes (actually loaded with crab and not a bunch of fillers), several chicken and shrimp dishes, as well as a few fish offerings.

Wonderful evening. Our 9th wedding anniversary dinner at Morton's was wonderful. The food, the service and the dessert were well worth the price. I look forward to our next stop at this fine steakhouse.

Morton's happy hour lives up to the hype! The Tuna Tacos are $7 of bliss! Pair with a side, here meaning bucket, of deep fried guilt, otherwise known as truffle fries. Dont worry, the doctor (no lie) I ate dinner with, said they are just as good chopped up and used in an omelet the folioing day.
Practical applications: you must sit at the bar to qualify for the "bar bites"- most days this is easily accomplished. Parking is free in the most literal sense- meaning there are actual non-valet spots in an actual parking lot.

Mouthwatering Filet. I consider myself a picky steak eater. The cut was great, not fatty, seasoned to perfection, mouthwatering. Perfect! The atmosphere is romantic, and cozy. Service was great.
Megan
Yeah, it's expensive, but oh my, is their filet worth every single penny. This is a favorite for special occasions. Their attention to detail is second to none, and the food is outstanding in every way.

Perfect in every way. Dinning at Morton's was a wonderful experience, the staff was attentive greeted us and introduced themselves by name which was different and made us feel very comfortable. We were seated in a nice corner booth just as request. The restaurant is beautiful they kept the dark wood and feel of the old place just modern and clean. Fresh flowers, wine bottles, pristine white table cloths and upper end sports memorabilia was nice the ambiance was great. Our server was Rodney a very pleasant gentleman who was wonderful in his presentation of the menu. From the drink menu (great Beer selection) thru entrees, side dishes to the desserts. He answered all our questions my dinner guest a Foodie so she had a few good thing he knew his stuff. My appetizer choice the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake with a Mustard-Mayonnaise Sauce it was perfect with large pieces of crab, firm held together well the color and texture were perfect, a lot to be said for using clarified butter when cooking. Cindy's choice Lobster Bisque a thick, well seasoned creamy soup with a nice color which unfortunately I did not get to sample. For the entrée's we chose Filet Mignon, Colossal Shrimp Alexander both were perfect. Vegetables included
Sautéed Brussels Sprouts with Bacon and Shallots and Sautéed Button Mushrooms to top it off a
Grand Marnier Soufflé that was fluffy warm and perfect.

Honestly.... I just don't think it was worth the $$$$. And we didn't even get that crazy. I can drive down to Plano to The Keg, which is way closer for me, get crazy there and enjoy food that's just as good, at half the price. That being said, we were VERY well taken care of, as you would expect at a place like this. Don't get me wrong, the food was excellent. I just can't justify the cost, which is why I have to dislike.

Recipe for a special night!. I had the most fabulous time, service and meal at this place. From the moment we walked in to when we left hours later everything in their power was done to make this a perfect evening-for no other occasion but the fact we were there! Watching the other tables it is obvious this is their philosophy. My steak was cooked the way I wanted (even though I wanted it done-done) with nary a blink. The sides were all fresh and gorgeous. Was it cheap? Nope, not even medium priced! Save your money and go and be treated, you deserve it!

My FAVORITE for special occasions!. I've been frequenting Morton's for years, been to several different locations in several states and it never disappoints. Be prepared to open your wallet but in my mind, you get what you pay for. I love the Filet Oscar and the chocolate cake at the end is a must. Also the Steak and Seafood for Two is a complete steal, check it out!

No the best. Went on my birthday to try other steakhouse restaurant, but definitely a wast of money! The steak quality not the best, even thou there service was great.
Jennifer Gibbs
Best ever. Best steak ever, best veggies ever, best service ever...

Perfection in Dining. I can't say enough about Morton's. They exceeded any expectation that I could have. I have been here several times but I also had my rehersal dinner here in May 2009. They were on top of every detail and everything went perfect. Plus the food is outstanding. This is one of my favorite places in Dallas.

The anniversary place for us. A classic place for a special occasion. We like their a la carte presentation....and the steaks, marvelous. Always a winner.

Great. What can I say the steak was out of this world.

One of my favorites... Morton's has some of the best steaks I have ever had. It is somewhat pricey, but the overall value is still great due to the overwhelmingly high quality. If you dine there you MUST have the soufflé. It is quite possibly the best soufflé on the planet!!
