Given some dietary constraints, I opted for a select few items across the balanced menu.
All that the mulligatawny soup needed was some lemon grass to pass off as a fusion Thai soup. I prefer mine with a stronger dash of thyme and some lentils. The raita was good change for my palate because I normally stay fixated on yoghurt only.
The kheema had well (and uniformly) grounded lamb but the over zealous portion of peas knocked down my estimation. I liked the fact it appeared moist and well hydrated. The size of the peas for this particular dish was well planned.
The Kathi Roll (chicken tikka) was the right portion but I am averse to readymade paratha. Given all the available equipment in the kitchen to prepare dough it is a cardinal sin to fry frozen paratha for serving. I don't encounter proper Mexican restaurants simply heating readymade tortillas. Naan was fine for the current clientele but I prefer mine to be fluffier and a little more on the side of quantity. Similarly, no nitpick issue with the roti.
It will be the other types of fusion for the next experiment at this enjoyable establishment.

Husband and I are staying in Dallas for the week and finally got to try Spice In The City. The staff was very friendly and familiar with the menu and able to answer all of our questions. The food was amazing we actually sampled most of the menu. The owner is a sweetheart he came and introduced himself and made sure we were happy. I highly recommend this spot if you are looking for flavor and comfort.

First time at this restaurant and the experience and the food was just absolutely amazing. Love the fusion Indian concept which mixed tex-mex with Indian cuisine it was absolutely delicious and such a great twist. I would definitely recommend this place. I think the samosas or the nacho samosas are a must. I also got the shrimp tikkadila and it was literally mind blowing good. Plus the atmosphere is just perfect and it has its own unique character. I will be back, love finding this treasure of a location!
Also they provide some custom meal prep which I'm seriously considering. I'll update this review if I give it a try.

This is a wonderful place. It says that it's a catering place but they have opened a dining area but the grand opening is still a month away. It's a really difficult place to find, we had to circle the block a couple of times to find it. The food is worth it! For a chef who is also a dietician I would have thought that the food would less oily. But it tastes fantastic, so who cares!

I am happy to have found Spice in the City here in Dallas. I eat here regularly whenever I am craving some tasty spicy rice Chicken Biryani with yogurt sauce. Today I tried the Shrimp Tikka with Jalapeño grits, a decidedly unique and delicious twist on a dish that has become a southern classic.

As someone who wasn't a fan of Indian food, I am in love. This place is seriously delicious. The chicken tikka is absolutely delicious and so is the rice. We also had the fritters and the wings and those were also delightful. Lastly the star of the show was the beef enchilada. I don't know where this dish was all my life but it is phenomenal. It was creamy yet had some spice to it. Based on the food alone I will be back and I totally recommend it.

Overall I would totally recommend this place. Its in kind of an odd spot inside an apartment building but other than that it is seriously the most delicious food I've had probably EVER.

Good Indian food. Thought the naan would be bigger -very tiny pieces. Drinks were ok, but served with a lot of ice so they watered down quickly. Decor was great.

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner there with my daughters and friend that isn't adventurous at all with food. We met the owner/chef Navin and he was very helpful and friendly. The food was all delicious. The concept of the fusion is truly unique and so delicious. The vibe is hip but casual and comfortable. Great enjoyable experience. If you like to try new things or already like Indian definitely give this place a try.

How this place got 4.9 stars is absolutely beyond me. You pay in a hole in the wall, and u go upstairs. The waitress up there is the co- owner, so don't leave tips downstairs and upstairs. We left a tip downstairs only. If u want an early heart attack, order whatever Tikka with cheese is there. The cheap bowl comes with, what looked like microwaved cheese enough to block your arteries. The cauliflower steak was awful. My husband didn't liked his tikka so I ordered another cauliflower steak without tasting mine first. Big mistake. Then we took it to go, and gave it away to a homeless person on the street. Oh, did I mention.. it's full of them over there, so don't put on your nice attire. Please make yourself a favor and go to Kalashandjis if you like Indian. U will love it there, and their beautiful garden. It's in a temple with a gift shop. Or go to Malai kitchen in uptown and have a great lunch or dinner. It's not an Indian but they have pretty decent food for great prices. I will not recommend this place to anyone, that is health conscious.

This restaurant/catering business has some of the most incredible food. Tex Mex Indian style as they describe themselves. They also offer amazing catering and have the best customer service to meet your needs and budget. They catered our party and we had a cheese board, BBQ chicken skewers, fruit platter, charcuterie tray and more. I highly recommend you give them a try!

At first I was confused because I had no clue what I wanted. The girl at the counter told me to try the first item on the menu, the organic chicken Tikka Masala. She said I would love it. She was absolutely correct!! I absolutely loved it!! Some of the best flavor and spice I have ever eaten. I got the Indian style rice with it and BAM, the perfect combination! I will definitely be returning many more times!!

Love Spice in the City! We have been catering from them for years and the food is always flavorful and cooked to perfection. There's lots of healthy, organic, grass-fed options. Love the Indian-fusion dishes. The tandoori chicken wings are so tasty! I love them because they can really cater to your needs as far as any flavor profiles or dietary restrictions. But don't be fooled - healthy does not mean skimping on flavor. Love the food and the customer service. Navin, the owner, really cares about making his customers happy. Keep up the good work!

Wow! A taste explosion and healthy too! The passion for the concept showed in everyone from the hostess to the waitress to the chef to the bartender. Giselle made awesome food and drink suggestions. The bartender smokes his own salt to rim the drink glasses and the server/sous chef (?) presented the pain puri appetizer and taught us to eat it with enthusiasm! It is a MUST try. The prices were beyond reasonable and the vegan selection was larger than most. Great outside eating atmosphere too. And very happy to see all gender inclusive/stigma free bathroom.

Wowza! You do not disappoint! Very impressed with flavors, ideal portion sizes...and better yet, I do not feel guilty after my meal.

Such a smooth and wonderful catering experience! They worked with me to put together a cohesive, easy to eat, mass-appealing, but still uniquely delicious menu for a neighborhood event without pressure on my budget. Brilliant touches like deviled eggs in little cups to minimize mess were just the icing on the cake.

The food at Spice in the City fills me with joy!
Its tastes home made- because it is, the folks at SitC do everything from scratch and it makes such a difference.
It's not strictly Indian flavors, but a medley of Indian, Malaysian, and even a little Latin flavor profiles. Its a mix I find completely wonderful.
Normally I opt for take out but I finally went to their restaurant and its beautiful- eat outside on their patio if you can- its just lovely.
Do yourself a favor- and go have dinner there!

Omg this place is amazing! Indian fusion...Indo-American and Indo-Mexican. Although I stuck close to traditional Indian, it was slightly fused: Tikka Saag (tikka masala & spinach saag), mini potato samosas & garlic naan. Everything including the atmosphere and decor was excellent.

The ambiance, including the outside dining area, is nice. This was my first experience with India fusion food, and it was very good. The wings, the dumplings, the tikki masala, so tasty. The 3 owners were all there, and they each visited the table to ask about the food and the experience. Top notch, and can't wait to go back.

It was delicious, clean, and the service was prompt and friendly. No wait for a table. A bit pricey, but common for the neighborhood.
Sat out on the patio, which was great. Chicken masala is the essential Indian dish (at least it was popular when I visited India), so that's what I went with in addition to the sampler. It was good, but it could have been more spicy. I'm told the chef can increase the heat upoj request, which is what I'll do next time.
