Review Franki's Pizza & Pasta - Dallas

The pizzas are tasty and the service from the staff is super friendly. They also have a super sized pizza which we got and is good for at least 4 adults. We are used to NY style pizza and while this was not the same it was pretty close in dough taste and thickness. Parking is also plentiful as it is on a strip. Do stop by if you are looking for a quick bite.

Really cute Italian restaurant, located in a strip center, interior well decorated like a little Italian Bistro. Service was excellent at this family owned business. Extensive menu of Italian specialties and everything our group of 6 had from Pizza, to Appetizers to Pasta Dishes were very good and well prepared. Also, it's BYOB so you can bring your own.

This place is really swell, clean atmosphere, attentive service. The food didn’t disappoint. We started with a cesar salad was fresh & crunchy. Calamari was fried to perfection. I had veal parmesan, my sister had the chicken Parmesan both very fantastic and filling dishes. Garlic & rolls wasn’t the best, got cold quickly, not enough garlic on the slice of bread. The pizza was the grand finale! All the toppings complimented the overall experience. The owner franki’s came through & made sure that my family and I were well taken care of.

After a trip to Italy, we sought out authentic Italian pizza in town. This place is probably as close it can get in Dallas.

First you have to start with the fact this is a family owned place so the recipes are unique, the ambiance brings in the warmth of Italy with luxury drapes and oil paintings all around. The lunch special was under $10 and offered a dinner portion, side salad and drink! The service was so pleasant that she really stood out with a positive attitude and energy! She was accommodating in the extra questions she asked and the service was perfect- fast to receive a drink, my side salad and the complimentary bread followed. I ordered the Chicken Picata, they gave a plentiful portion of toppings (this dish comes with 5 veggies), the pasta was cooked well and the chicken was tender. The sauce was just enough to cover the dish and let me dip my dread in (which I love to do)!

The perfect neighborhood Italian place. We've been coming here for several years -- usually twice a month. Often brought friends. Never had a bad meal. The pizza ingredients piled high. Spaghetti sauce tangy rather than sweet, which is what I like. Crab claw a delicious side dish. Every neighborhood should have a Franki's.

First time to Franki's. Server communication skills were weak. Pizza was fresh (made to order), crust good, cheese chewy, sauce bland. Not a bad experience but probably won't come back for pizza. It was dark and seemed cluttered inside. over-all, just didn't impress me.

Hair in my food. Crab legs that were unsafe to eat. Manager that argued. He offered to bring more food. I declined due to the poor quality and risk of reprisal. Never again.

Worst customer service ever. Went with a group of girls to eat lunch after work and my friends meet in her meat raviolis was spoiled to the point where it almost made you vomit. She brought this to the attention of the owners brother in law who instantly got defensive and told her he can't believe what she says because her face look mad when she got there and she's a liar. After he told us that we were liars then the waitress came over and argued with us for 20 minutes. We tried to keep telling them we were not trying to get free food she was just wanting them to know that the raviolis were spoiled then we just spent the next 20 minutes getting screamed at. I have never been so embarrassed in my life. You should never have to defend yourself at a restaurant.

Stay away. I have never had such a bad experience at a restaurant before and will never go back! Was not allowed to make a comment about the food was told it was because they can't believe us based on my friends face. That she looked mad when we came in. Then spent the next 20 min defending ourselves to the staff.

Best place ever. Although I'm sorry for the lady's commit below, and am not aware of her particular situation. I find it hard to believe things played out as stated below. I love this place. have been coming here for almost 2 years. They have always been great since day one, both with customer service and product. I lived in NY for 7 years and this place taste just like their food. IT'S AMAZING. I work in the area and eat here at least once a week if not more!

Horrible customer service. I have never been talked to the way I was by the owner of this place. I was dumbfounded and speechless the way he berated me in front of other customers who were sitting there eating. All for ordering 2 specials that he thought were going to the same residence. I took my niece up to get hers and I went to get mine - omg - you would have thought I committed an atrocious crime.
He belittled me and went on about losing money, etc..($50 dollars is what he said).
I stood there speechless in disbelief, paid and left.
I did not say anything seeing how my niece was getting upset as we had just buried her grandmother earlier that day and I could see she was now getting more upset by the way the owner treated us - like common criminals.
NEVER GOING BACK! I am taking my business elsewhere and letting everyone I know who goes there how I was treated. If the owner had any business acumen he would know that word of mouth is a powerful thing and stop treating customers like trash.

New to the area and being from NY I found this place to be fantastic. The people, the food and the owner whom welcomes you into his home have taken the market. A must do for dinner.

You Have To Love Franki's. Had lunch yesterday, wonderful as always. Franki's never fails to impress me. I have tried almost everything on the menu, and enjoyed all. Love the cozy atmosphere, and great service. Looking forward to our next visit.

Frankie's Pizza has depth.. My wife and I go to Frankie's at least twice a month and love the pizza, especially the crust. Frankie's is a "neighborhood' Italian place where they do an excellent job of making their regular customers feel like family, and I love the diverse family-oriented patrons you will see there. The dining room is cozy, which lends itself to comfortable discussions with your Neighbor in the restaurant or the neighborhood. If you are from the Northeast or love comfortable neighborhood Italian restaurants operated by people who genuinely love their neighborhood regulars, this is the place

Just Great. The food is terrific.People great. I like the pizza a lot.
For Italian food you can't do better.
Price is so cheap that I feel guilty.
No I don't work there or even know anyone who does.

Disappointed in spite of low expecations. About every 3 or 4 months I try Franki's again. I live in the neigborhood so I see all the cars in the parking lot day after day. I keep thinking I must be ordering the wrong thing. I want to like this place! But each and every time I try it, I'm a little more disappointed than I was before. I've had the pizza, chicken piccata, spaghetti w/ meatballs and chicken parmesan and was underwhelmed with all of them. Bland, bland, bland and tough! This time I decided to try eggplant parmesan. How bad could it be? Worse than I imagined. The sauce was tasty and my first bite was pretty good. I got excited! The eggplant tasted fresh and tender. Unfortunately the rest of the dish was practically inedible. The eggplant was not ripe. Hard, tough....just not ripe. If I was dining in I would have sent it back, but it was a takeout order so I threw it in the trash.
Fool me 5 times, shame on me.

Nothing special here. Lobster ravioli has big nasty chunks of imitation crab, ck piccata has no flavor, no sauce, bread has no seasoning, will not eat again

I heart this place sooo much! It's sooooo good and worth the $$! Thank you Franki's!!!

Great pie. Two things make a great NY pie, crust and sauce. Franki's sauce is out of this world and the crust is soooo close to making it the perfect pie. Not sure if i could call it the best NY style pizza in DFW, but its the best so far!

Mixed review. Went to Franki's pizza at southeast corner of Marsh & Forest in Dallas last night. Expectations were high from USpoon reviews.

Couldn't decide between pizza or pasta, so asked the waitress for her recommendation. In the end, pizza won out and I went for the Capri (artichokes, sundried tomatoes, mushrooms, etc), along with a side salad and the premeal bread.

House dressing for the side salad was a tomato vinaigrette, which was flavorful. The bread's texture was soft inside.

The Capri pizza, something didn't click. It definitely had the ingredients advertised, yet for some reason the distinct flavors of artichoke, mushroom, spinach, sundried tomato blended too much with the crust/sauce--instead of remaining separate, and distinguishing themselves as the showcase toppings of the dish. That seemed odd, as both artichoke and sundried tomato are distinct flavors which aren't subtle at all.

Somehow, the combo of ingredients got lost in the pizza. As I was eating, I thought of Palio's Pizza, which has an identical Capri pizza yet the bolder flavors remain out-front instead of becoming blended/hidden.

My dinner compadre had the fettucine alfredo, and I must say Franki's has a unique and very delicious alfredo sauce. It was magnificent. They put something sweet (but not too sweet) into the alfredo, making it unlike standard alfredo sauces and delectable.

After dinner, the patron at the next table and I were both waiting for our respective checks. He asked how dinner was, and I mentioned the 'hiding/blending' of the pizza flavors. He commented he'd been going there for some time, and pizza with just one or two toppings was very good, but a blend of more ingredients than that wasn't their best pizza.

Point taken. I do want to go back to Franki's and try their pizza with less ingredients, and also try their lobster ravioli which the waitress recommended as one of their top three pasta dishes. Though there were a couple of small quirks, this was far from a disappointing meal overall. The house dressing and fettucine alfredo were solid.

Service was decent to good. Waitress knew the menu, enjoyed working there. She did disappear for just a little bit 2/3 of the way through the meal, but it was nothing of major consequence.

Will definitely come to Franki's again. Need another go at it to solidify the verdict further. :-) If the other pastas are anything like the alfredo then we have something really good here. Pizza...we'll see. The 4-ingredient variety did not impress, but I'll take the long-timer's advice next time and go for 1 or 2 toppings and see how it is.

Small but fantastic Restaraunt. We order take it at least 3-4 x month and always great. Try the chicken Capri if you want a light flavorful entree. Really great! Byob.

The best pizza in the Carrollton/ Farmers Branch area. Period. The service is so good that I felt guilty how well I was treated. I can't recommend this place enough. The owners are very hardworking people who migrated to the US a few years ago and they believe in customer service and quality food.

Good but not amazing food. But I love how the owner comes out to chat with you

It has the best Pizza in town and is run by real Italians. Franki, the owner, told me his brother used to own a shop in NYC, so it is true New York Style Pizza. In additiona to pizza, they also offer other delicious Italian Favorites such as Cannelloni, L
