Review Vindu Indian Cuisine - Dallas

One of the best restaurant in Dallas and I bet on this. Amazing food quality. We visited here for the first time after all the reviews we saw on Google and to be very honest we were here for 3 days in Dallas and I visited 3 times in a row because of the food quality and service . I was looking for authentic South Indian food and I bet on this they serve you exactly as per your expectations. Dosa, Medu vada, idli, punugulu, chicken tikka masala, paneer butter masala and chicken 65 are worth trying . Thanks to Prem who helped us a lot in making the right choices . Cook is really great and whatever you are being served is authentic in its own way. I’m gonna visit this place again for sure may be next month. Thank you again .. :) 🌸

Being a Bengali, a foodie, and a top 10% food reviewer on Google Maps, I can attest this is one of the best Indian restaurant I came across in all of Texas! We ordered a lamb biryani, chola bhatora. And diet coke. The server/owner (might be) is very polite and a gentleman. When we were asking him questions about the menu, we mentioned this is our first visit, so he went out of his way and gave us a full plate of Chicken 65 (like a chicken masala) which was super delicious and tangy (it had curry leaves and lime mixed in with all the Indian spice goodness). Our lamb biryani was full of flavour with no hint of excess oil. The biryani came with two sides of Raita and Curry gravy (yum!). It is enough for two people or enough for 1 for a foodie like me! The chola bhatora was recommended by the server and we were not disappointed. It is truly enough for 2 people easily! No Indian meal ever ends without chai! It was thick and flavorful although I would keep the prices a bit lower. Overall our experience here was exceptional and we will visit again for sure.

Been seeing and passing this place for years- decided to stop here for date lunch, and I'm glad I did. Several lunch specials, for under $15! The spices and extras were also amazing, and I'm looking forward to exploring more of the regular menu options!

Found this Indian restaurant for dinner on our weekend trip to Dallas to attend a wedding. Nice ambience, not too far from the major roads, delicious food at affordable rates, fast service and lots of items to choose from the menu. Loved it!

LOVE THIS PLACE! Amazing dishes: our favorites are the goat biryani, chicken makhani, and chicken tikka masala. Most tender goat I've ever had. We always order takeout, and they are super fast, always give us extras (desserts, side dishes, naans, etc), and the quantities are very plentiful. Amazing flavors and they're not stingy with meat either. We just discovered Vindu this month, and have already ordered from them 3 times! Definitely give it a try, you won't regret it!

Update: Recently went back to try out new dishes. The soft bread(naan) was really smooth and well done. We had the Malai kofta, Chicken chilli and Paneer butter masala. The quantity and the taste were really great. The customer service of the staff was great, something we didn't find in other desi restaurants. Old:Gobi manchurian (gravy) was really delicious, crispy just like we get in India. Mysore masala dosa was yummy as well.
OMG That’s Me (OMG's DFW Food)
We’ve been looking for an Indian restaurant to frequent ever since our fav moved on, and we’ve found it at Vindu! We ordered delivery and everything arrived hot and fresh, with amazing aromas coming from the bag. It did not disappoint. We ordered a lot of standards to try out: Veg samosas, chicken 65, tikki masala, chicken biriyani, and naan. Not only were they outstanding, but we got a couple of small portion cups of sauces we’d not tried before that were sooo goood!!!! We will definitely be back!

INCREDIBLE FOOD. Words do not describe how happy I am to have found such delicious food so close to my home. Best palak paneer I have had aside from home made. I would try anything here just need to venture out a little!

Overall incredible experience! The server was attentive and kind. Every dish was above expectation. If you’re vegetarian try the Gobi Manchurian and Chana Masala Curry, I highly enjoyed the flavor and spice!

The place has an odd smell to it, but clean. The masala dosa was really good. I wish the biryani had more authentic taste, it looked like chicken (not fresh, probably 1-2 days old) was just added to cooked rice. The owner was really good. I will definitely give it another try.

Came yesterday for Mother’s Day, the service was impeccable! Best tasting Indian food in all of DFW, with amazing proportions.

Food and service were great! Chicken Tikka Masala is the basic choice but the gravy was perfectly spicy and Chili Paneer appetizer had a nice flavor

Worst Indian restaurant in Dallas. I have a restaurant.com coupon and i visited the place along with my friend and my 1.5 year old son. When we enter the place and before placing the order, we have asked about the coupon which we have, they refused to take that coupon and rudely denied us. I am not sure if they are not accepting the coupon, why restaurent.com issued any coupon for this place. I have raised a query in restaurant.com, but seems like they are not interested in this query. Very pathetic experience.

This was my third visit and, as usual, Vindu did not disappoint. I have only ever been here for lunch which boasts a well-stocked buffet. When I arrived I noticed that I was only one of two non-South Asians in the busy dining room - in my experience a good sign in Indian restaurants. The mixed vegetable pakora, chicken tikka masala, and veg masala stood out today. The naan was a bit dry, having sat on the buffet too long but the gulab jamoon more than made up the deficiency. Give Vindu a try.

It's a nice place
You don't get the authentic taste of of indian food
But it's pocket friendly for daily diners
Buffet is decent every noon
Overall 4 stars.

This is my go to restaurant for Indian food. Everything is authentic and the taste is great. The naan rocks. I love the chili chicken and the chicken 65. The vegetable curries are the best around and there is quite a variety. The atmosphere is really cool too and the usually have TV's on showing the Indian version of MTV or sports matches
Eating Out
This is a decent place for Indian food. During the lunch hour they have an open buffet. It seems very popular. Service is non-existent. I was seated and then told to "dig in" whenever I felt like it while he pointed at the buffet. Ice tea or other drink option were not offered, nor did I get a chance to interact to ask. At least three or four people work the floor, but they do not talk or interact. At check out time, I had to flag one down to ask if I pay at the table or up front. It's up front as you leave.

The food was decent. I really enjoyed the grilled cabbage and mango pudding. They had wonderful flavors that came together nicely. Everything else was middle of the road. The Naan was dry. The chicken in the dishes consisted of chicken parts rather than chicken breasts. The service and average food will keep me from returning.

It's the best South Indian restaurant in Richardson/Dallas area. Their Dosas and Chutneys are to die for. I loved Everything I have ordered there. A must-try if you are in Dallas looking for Indian food.

To preface: My wife and I are world travelers, we will drive hours (at most 6 hours) for a single restaurant. We sample the best the world has to offer and enjoy regional dishes.

This restaurant is NOT authentic nor amazing, in fact it's barely edible. My wife and I went there looking for 5-star Indian food and we came back with severe cases of indigestion and regret.

We started off the meal with two pieces of papadum with tamarind and mint sauces, both sauces were fantastic and the papadum was great. I found out that they were store bought, still delightful.

Two vegetable samosas arrive soon after, which were recommended by our host. They were amazing, very chewy outside and the veggies inside were a brilliant medly of vegetables and potato. Our meals came about 10 minutes later.

We ordered two of their specialty rices (lemon rice and pulihara). These rices both had nuts all the way through them, a spoonful of rice gave about 6 nuts; the nuts were burnt and bitter to the taste. The rices themselves were cakey and overly pungent with their flavors; the lemon rice tasted like it was boiled in lemon juice. After tasting these rices I immediately ordered white basmati rice.

The dishes tasted tart and not at all as ordered. The vindaloo was not spicy but more vinegary and harsh, a proper vindaloo should be spicy and lightly sweet and not at all bitter. The meat was mainly dark meat with the tendon still attached on some pieces, some very slimy.

The chicken tikka masala should be a sweet dish, there was nothing sweet about what I tasted. The chicken tasted burnt and the sauce was globular; you could not pour the masala sauce after a few minutes of sitting out, you had to spoon it out.

In the end our host was very apologetic about the experience and admitted that the reason most people eat here is because they do not know better Indian food. I agree wholeheartedly.

If you love Indian food, please stay away.

Favorite indian place in north Dallas. Food: very traditional indian food, true to it's roots and delicious. The portions are very generous - the first time we went two if us ordered all carte(meal only) and two ordered the dinner(meal + sides). We ended up with waay more food, but I never complain about having leftovers for tomorrow. The waitstaff is very helpful and does a great job recommending dishes. We've gone with people new to indian food.
Prices: Average for indian good I'm this area, very good for the quality.
Venue: The restaurant itself is nicely decorated, not a bad place for a date. It's on the darker side with red upholstery and dark wood so it has more of a dinner/evening feel to it.
Staff: The staff are very friendly and helpful. Some of the staff have varying degrees of language barrier so ordering over the phone for take-away has been a problem a couple times but they have always corrected any problems with the order and go above and beyond to make sure you're happy.

Overall we've had great experiences and will keep going back.

Food is actually good...very good vindaloo and paneer makhani..service is a whole another story. Very dissapointing service, slow, forgetful waiters. The manager just stood there watching and refusing to help. If you want more business, treat you clients with care.

I find the restaurant is below average in all the aspects. Oilly food, poor taste, rude servers, dirty washrooms, high price. It was a bad experience. I bet there are much better indian restaurants you could go.

Most consistent and reliable restaurant with reasonable price. Service is really very great

Not one to write reviews... This was "trying a new place" for me and it was amazing. The spices and the flavor hit you right away. You can't stop eating even when you're stuffed. It's absolutely delicious. I can't wait to come back to try something else.

Great Indian food

Vindu is EXCELLENT. I stopped by Vindu this evening on my way home for some take out. The quality of the food was excellent. Chicken Korma proved to have tender, moist pieces of breast meat. The Samosas were yummy and flavorful and not at all greasy. The Naan is some of the best I have had in Dallas. They were also generous in providing chutneys and condiments. I will definitely be frequenting Vindu!

Everything was delicious, and while I could have sampled more of Vindu’s savory dishes, I resolved not to let my stomach get the upper hand this time. Instead, I went straight to the dessert line.
