This is our favorite sushi place in Dallas, definitely in top 5 to try. They've expanded the building to get more people in, but... Sometimes they don't have enough staff but the staff is still very kind and fast as humanly possible lol great place to eat 💯
First timer! It was pretty good. Loved all the appetizers! The ramen was pretty bland not as much flavor as I wanted and I got spicy but overall it is solid! GET THE PLUM WINE 10/10
This restaurant has amazing, well priced sushi and ramen. They were really busy, but our server Melanie was so helpful and attentive. I loved the spicy Tonkotsu ramen and Gyoza dumplings. They have a large and small size ramen if you want to try other dishes and get the small bowl. For sushi we got the salmon dynamite rolls, the rainbow rolls, the teardrop rolls and the double pleasure rolls which were all excellent. The quail egg shots are also worth a try. We had 3 alcoholic drinks and the bill total was $121.00. An amazing deal for all the food we got, atmosphere is nice, highly recommend dining here.
Highly recommended getting the spicy yama and spicy tonkatsu ramen here !! The sushi is also great, and all of the staff on deck are very friendly and attentive : ) It always seems to be closed from the outside but that’s bc of their curtains- don’t let that stop you from going to this place!
Very authentic Japanese food. It’s always a full house/no empty tables, so you know it’s definitely good! The service is normally really quick (in and out 30-45mins). The food itself is really good and I definitely recommend you step outta your shell a little bit and try new things here because it definitely opened my eyes to new foods ! Overall great!
The parking lot is kinda a nightmare because it’s very small and there’s tons of people who attend the billiard hall next door- so just note parking can be hard sometimes.
Sometimes I wake up craving sushi at midnight, and I am happy I found this restaurant. Made it for happy hour and tried a few pieces of sushi ($1.50 each) and some rolls and everything was delicious. It is on the smaller side inside, maybe 40 seats if that including the bar, but I love quaint restaurants. Service was great even though they were packed, and the food came in a decent amount of time too. The pozu had a little more bite to it then I am used too and the ell sauce wasn't as sweet (50 c each) but I really didn't need any extra sauce. The fish was fresh and the rice was delicious. Spent about $45 before tip on 3 rolls and a plate of sushi. I don't want to recommend too much, since I don't want it to get super packed and popular, but I will definitely be back soon.
Great Quality of Sushi and Sashimi. Nice service. Usually busy at happy hours but it is worth waiting! Can't wait to taste some more menu for next time
Happy hour Nigiri! What a pleasant surprise. We are new to the area and wanted sushi. I was driving around, and we did a quick search and agreed to try Yama Sushi. We didn't know about their Happy Hour!
When we arrived, the exterior wasn't appealing at all. Signage could use some updating. The exterior needs a lot of love.
We arrived a few minutes before 6 pm and sat in the car. We were viewing other options then noticed a few people making their way into Yama. We said, "Let's go!"
We are happy we did, the service staff were cheerful and friendly! After sitting down, we noticed the Happy Hour menu. There were four of us and we ordered a Mackerel Bento Box for my mother-in-law. My wife ordered nigiri and a specialty roll. My son and I ordered nigiri and a couple of specialty rolls. Everything was great! We'll definitely have to go back!
Apparently Yama is a find! They were busy with both diners and deliveries.
That can only be good!
I found this place about six months ago and have been a weekly regular ever since.
Tuesday & Thursday $1 / $1.50 specials are a really good deal.
This place is small but the staff is amazing even during the busiest times.
Highly recomended. I dont remember the last time I ate a really good sushi. i'm gonna be honest, when I got here I was scared of her appearance. but I felt safe because it didn't smell bad. then the attention was perfect and the food was amazing. we get seated fast and the order came faster. All fish were very fresh! We ordered tuna and yellowtail sashimi. salmon niguiri. 5 tresure sashimi roll (my choice #1) and salmon dynamite (to many mayo for me, POV i dont eat mayo). ramen miso. gyozas dumpling.
Defenitly I will go again. we went monday at 10pm. Oh!! Finally very good prices
