My son and law found Lindy's when looking for something near our new address. We found the staff friendly and helpful. They have down home cooked food. So if you're looking for something fancy that's not the place to go. If you're looking for a friendly home cooked meal I highly recommend them.
The other thing that I found pleasantly surprising is how much food you get for your money. Both times I went I had to get a take home box. We have decided that Lindy's will be our main restaurant.
Almost forgot, they have the best coffee. My son in law ordered coffee but I didn't he kept going on about how good the coffee was. So I decided to try it. Wow he was right.
Good home cooking. The lunch specials are always a treat. Food is good and on certain days they serve "fried-green tomatoes" . Catfish special is pretty good too.
Always fast and good service no matter how many cars are there. Great country breakfast. Good lunch specials. Always clean and neat.
Decent choice of dinners, shrimp and chikn fried steaks are good. Prices are fair. Nothing fancy.
Not a bad little location just east of I-635 of Dallas
Not bad, not good. Meh.. The menu is like a Denny's and IHOP. They serve breakfast anytime along with a little of this and a little of that. I stopped there while going through Dallas and I've only eaten there one time. I ordered breakfast, two pancakes, two eggs, and two pieces of bacon. A friend ordered "chicken-fried chicken" with mashed potatoes and corn.
My breakfast: The eggs were eggs, nothing special, except that I got what appears to be six scrammbled eggs as opposed to just two. The bacon was thick, crispy, and tasty, and I got three pieces instead of the two I expected. The pancakes were large, tasted good and were thick, but they didn't seem all the way cooked as they became gooy after adding syrup.
Chicken Dinner: The chicken was crispy, but lacked flavor. It tasted more like flour than anything. I'm used to Lowery's Season Salt on my fried chicken and this chicken was bland. It looked really good though ;-) The mashed potatoes were good. The corn tasted like cafeteria corn, strange.
If you are hungry and near Lindy's you won't be horrified, but the food is just average. The service was decent, although the waitress didn't come back to the table after taking our order until our food was ready so we didn't get a chance for coffee and tea refills until she showed up again. The place wasn't busy. It was cold in the place.
We have always wanted to try this restaurant because the parking lot would be full on our way to east Texas. So glad that we did it today on our way home from a softball tournament. The food was all freshly home made. The staff and service was great and friendly. Don’t just drive by, stop and eat you will be glad that you did.
Cozy diner right off the highway. Had to wait a few minutes for seating since customers were paying but there was plenty of tables. Had the $9.99 lunch special: 1 choice of meat and 3 veggies. The meatloaf was slightly overcooked but the sides and rolls were delicious. Excellent service and polite staff! Can't wait to go again!
Lindy’s is that place! The pit stop you saw on tv sitcoms, the trucker hang out that your dad passed by on the family trips (he was looking for Sambos), the All American Diner serving All American foods from cheeseburger to chicken fried chicken.
The menfolk in my family used to meet here annually and plan family get togethers, keep each other updated on health issues and sometimes even settle family disputes. Lindy’s became a familiar staple and long time meeting place.
Lindy’s has some of the busiest and sweetest waitresses you will ever find, in any restaurant.
The kitchen is capable and efficient, busting out the short order tabs pronto. You may see the church crowd here, you may see a couple of truckers here, traveling salesmen for sure and the occasional young love dining here. Young couples always stand out to my sight cause the guy often counts the money in his pocket twice before he orders.
But prices here are reasonable and worthwhile, I don’t want to give you any other impression. Give Lindy’s a try, you won’t regret it.
This place reminds me of an Old School diner with great service and the food, is perfect.
I asked for well done hash browns, and I got exactly that plus I ate them all. The bacon and Sausage Patties were also perfectly cooked.
I will definitely stop by again next trip.
Think Cracker Barrell but better and cheaper! There are a lot of hotels near this place. If you are in one TRY THIS PLACE. I mean it's not gourmet but if you want good home cooking FAST with friendly service, try it. I had the special Chicken & Dumplings... they weren't my mommas but they were someone's mommas recipe. I didn't post my picture of my split pea soup because it didn't look appealing but that was the BEST SPLIT PEA SOUP IVE EVER HAD. it was also my only time I've ever had it but it was so good... even though it didn't look like it would be
The food and service is always great. Happy to see they finally did some upgrades, it looks nice!
09/16/2023 - It's been a while since we've been back here. I'm happy to see nothing's changed. Great food, good portions, good prices, and great service!
11/18/2023 - Great food, portions, and great service. Hubby and I shared a Country Boy favorite - 2 pork chop and everything was delish! 😋
Five Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the quick and friendly service. During my visit on a weekday for breakfast, this restaurant was fairly busy which told me that it must be good. Yes indeed, the food was delicious. Highly recommend this place!
Truckers: if you drop your trailer you can park in the dirt lot behind the restaurant if it isn't full. Second best pancakes of my life. Bacon is thick. Had breakfast and everything was cooked to perfection. Hot coffee, attentive service. Clean restaurant. The prices are amazingly low in these trying times. Will be saving this location for the next time we pass thru Dallas!!! Thank you.
We drove by this place for years while traveling. We decided that we would stop on the way back home. Mrs. Lola made us feel like we were at home with family. She's a very nice person and has a beautiful spirit. As a veteran, I love this restaurant.
Very friendly staff. Coffee was yummy best I have had in awhile. My pancakes smelled delicious and tasted great. I would definitely go back again. I had a friend came to visit she loved there coffee and food.
