Review Tj's Seafood Market - Dallas

It’s a really nice place to grab a lunch or set there reading a book and catch with friends or family. It’s located in highland park, it’s peaceful and quiet. The server I had was excellent and had a good Knowledge on the menu and the pairing of wine available. I had their lovely ice team with sea food shrimp taco which was surprisingly good. I would go back to try more of their sea food options! Be aware this a very high end neighbourhood and ppl can be a bit snobbish and not always well behaved especially the elderly.

Came here for dinner with a friend and we definitely made a good decision. The customer service was great and food was delicious. I ordered mussels to start and while it had good flavoring there were a couple of pieces that were gritty. For my main, I ordered the blackened salmon with fries and green beans. The salmon was cooked perfectly, fries crispy, and savory green beans! (My friend ordered the calamari and sea bass enchiladas.) For dessert, we shared the key lime pie. Overall, it was a good experience and I will come back to try some of their other options.

I Google searched "best fresh seafood near me" and this place did not disappoint! The oysters were my favorite part. It was all delicious though and service was top notch as well.

One of the best fish tacos I've ever had. The flavor pairing of the slaw and a coconut batter fried shrimp or fish results in outstanding sweet, savory, and citrous notes. I've revisited many times just for their fish tacos. 10/10

Looking for the best seafood in Dallas? TJ’s unquestionable freshness and delightful service make it a top contender for an incredible, healthy meal. Our meal was cooked to absolute perfection, even including all of the sides that accompanied. The Ora King salmon melted in my mouth with an incredible buttery texture. The entire experience was made complete by a super friendly and accommodating wait staff. 🙂

I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. It's seafood, the way it was intended to be served. Fresh, simply seasoned so as to complement the amazing flavor of their seafood. The sides never overpower the main course; it's the focal point of these plates full of satisfaction. Portion sizes are perfect. You may end up taking home lunch for tomorrow. AND save room for the dessert. Great selection of wines that are par for the seafood experience. Once you step in, the clean and quaint feel of the restaurant takes you away from the Dallas scene. You feel like you could be in a quaint, hidden bistro on a fisherman's wharf in Portland, or a small, family-owned restaurant on a weekend getaway to the coast. The small staff is friendly. Take a minute and get to know the butcher. They LOVE talking about their fresh offerings and take pride in the work they do. DO yourself a favor, VISIT TODAY!!!

Always amazing service and I’ve been going here for years. This time, I tried a new fish I had not heard of, the Nantucket Island Golden Tile. Wow was it amazing and did taste a lot like lobster just as they mentioned. Textured and sweet. Highly recommend.

Today I came here for the first time because we missed the breakfast rush. My boyfriend and I were waiting outside. The location is so beautiful we were sitting outside well before they opened. We were greeted and we came inside to check out the atmosphere. Everything thing was social distanced which is so great! We had the pleasure of having Scott greet and sit us. He was amazing! Who would have known we were coming to lunch and a comedy! We had great laughs, I felt like I was out to lunch with an old pal! We ordered Hawaiian Tuna and the Grilled shrimp tacos. Everything was delicious, very well flavored and reasonably priced. We enjoyed this restaurant 10/10 would recommend.

Great food! The fish tacos are just art in your mouth, so good i wanted to call and thank them. Definitely going back for more fish tacos. Also had a lobster roll it was stuffed full and very rich with flavor the lobster was very fresh tasting not for someone watching calories lol. They have homemade chips that are crazy good. Expect to pay around 40. For a meal for two depending on what you order. Make sure to ask price on lobster roll if your on a budget or call ahead. They have fresh fish by the pound and lots of spice mixes that looked interesting. They share recipes and cooking tips available on display for you to take home. Very clean store. Ok parking.

I discovered this place by getting lost in the area. I pulled into the little shopping center to get my google maps up. I decided to just checkout what was in this center. Walked into this cute quaint little seafood shop / grill and was amazed at all the seafood they offer to go similar to a butcher shop but seafood. Variety of fresh fish, shell fish, sauces and so much more! I decided to stay & have some lunch. So glad I did!! My server made a few recommendations that I took her up on. The seafood gumbo....OMG...best gumbo I’ve ever had with that dark roux that you don’t see to often. It was amazing. I ordered the sea bass grilled w lemon butter sauce & coconut rice w broccolini....wowza first class meal. Absolutely delicious! Polished this off a a nice glass of Sauvignon Blanc. She then offered the key lime cheesecake, but I’m not a fan of key lime...she decided to give me a tasting! And wow I loved it. It was creamy and just a hint a key lime flavor which was sooo good. Thank you for a great lunch! I will be back with friends in tow.

Dallas is not land locked...the ocean tide comes to this seafood market and restaurant  daily.  If you are a lover of fish, this is a place worth knowing, as they have an excellent selection.   Dine-in or get your favorites to go.    A small venue, but comfortable, fresh grilled fish options abound.  Bay of Fundy Salmon, Maryland Style Lump Crab Cakes, Hawaiian Ahi Tuna or a simple Salmon Burger.  Check the chalkboard, as there are always seasonal specials!    Glenn Almack

It took an hour for an order of not-too-fresh mussels to arrive. If they're out of something, better to say so than pick up the last bag at a grocery store.

Nothing ordinary here. Peruvian ceviche, crab cakes and one if the best fish tacos ever! And a real Caeser salad to boot. Great service! We'll be back!

Top Quality A++ Seafood. Dallas just keeps getting better in the Seafood realm, with Driftwood, Spoon, and TJs all bringing in the freshest catch available and serving it in simple and unique ways.<br/>This market doubles as a restaurant where you order at the counter, picking what you want out of the ice right in front of you. There is also a menu of specials and selected items that vary depending on what's in season. Everything is fresh and A+ quality. Remember that seafood this fresh comes at a premium, so don't come here expecting an 8 dollar, 2 hour dinner. You can also pick out a bottle of wine (or Sake, like I did) from the shelf and have it served along with your meal. The oysters (4 kinds at the time) were super, the seafood hot pot was delicious, and I picked out 2 dry diver scallops and had the chef slice them raw on a plate. He wisely suggested they be dressed in wasabi vinaigrette, which brought it all together. Highly recommended.

The lobster roll at TJ’s Seafood Market is laughing at almost every other lobster roll in Dallas. No one around here is saying every other lobster roll in Dallas is a disgrace to lobster rolls everywhere. I’m just saying this particular lobster roll is massively magical. Something about the way the bread, lemon-thyme butter, and lobster morph into glory upon impact is obscene in the very best way. Poor people, rejoice! Even though this lobster roll is $25, TJ’s is kind enough to offer a petite version for $16. I ate at four restaurants after school on Monday, which is not normal or healthy. TJ’s was the second stop. Please believe executive chef Hoffner is not messing around with this one and a half pound Connecticut-style lobster roll. Other recent rolls around Dallas definitely worth a mention are East Hampton Sandwich Company and 20 Feet Seafood Joint . Next up, Neighborhood Services on Lovers Lane and a mini chef chat with Nick Badovinus.
