I had a great experience here and highly recommend! I've been trying a new place for crawfish most every weekend and big shucks has knocked tejun out of my #1 spot so far. Everything I tried was delicious and flavorful. I sat at the bar and really enjoyed watching the kitchen staff do their magic.
One of the best shrimp tacos in DFW. Must try of you love sea food.
Tried crispy calamari, raw oysters, fried shrimp and shrimp tacos.
Shrimp tacos were awesomastic, and enjoyed oysters and fried shrimp. Crispy calamari was below average. Still given 5 star considering the value for the price we pay
Good food but they need to do something about kids running around the patio. They almost hit an elderly person who was trying to get to her table with her food. Management should make announcements frequently, but parents are the ones responsible.

This is a local staple. Very fresh seafood fried deliciously. Always needs a little salt and hot sauce in my opinion, but still so fresh and not oily. They were playing football so it was a bit rowdy, but will definitely go back.

Overall big shucks is a great easy seafood restaurant with a fun take on the make your own cocktail sauce.
Drinks are cheap, seafood is priced great
Food is served fresh and hot. They give you plenty of everything had the catfish basket with shrimp excellent. My grandson had the seafood boil he could not finish all of it. Great place for a birthday party plenty of room
Oysters on the half shell were very fresh, albeit a bit spendy currently but that could be demand and season. Another hole in the wall place. Was told line is usually out the door. You order, pay then seat yourself. Was quoted Saturday afternoon and not that busy. Great oyster poboy, if smaller than expected. Bread was fantastic and the fried oysters were cooked perfectly. The fries needed another minute in the fryer. Pretty good! Crawfish are one of our favorite foods and the spice was good but I prefer the dry seasoning more than hot sauce. Gumbo was great, everything was cooked well! Oysters were fantastically fresh.
Been coming here for about 18 years. Regular family/ friend spot. They brought back crab balls (cakes).
Big Shucks is the mother of Aw Shucks. Always crowded, but the line goes fast. My favorite is the coconut shrimp with steak fries with a shrimp cocktail side to share.

Oh my, what's bad about this place. Absolutely nothing! What's good is everything on the menu. To the crab, shrimp, chicken tenders, hot wings, fish, and a must try is the blackened catfish and rice. Good strawberry margaritas and michalada's, too. Kid friendly, sports tv's, huge patio area but
Loved everything. Only thing I would change is the speaker volume that lets people know their orders are ready. It was crazy loud, and names were being announced every minute or so.

I've gone to Aushucks/Big Shucks since the 90s. I've always gotten the gumbo, which they used to fill up with plenty of shrimp, but since the pandemic shrimp in the gumbo is very limited. I wished they would go back to the original. Other than that the food is always great!
