Delicious option for Texas Bbq. Very casual, order at the counter kind of place. Had the ribs and brisket with coleslaw, creamed spinach and banana pudding. Staff was so fun and hospitable. They have frozen lemonade and frozen ice tea, ask for a combo to have an Arnold Palmer kind of slushie!
I came here a lot as a kid after soccer and softball games and still come with my family every few months when we're in the mood for some BBQ. It's VERY casual and never too crowded so we can always get in and out quickly if need be. My personal favorites are the ribs, fried okra and loaded baked potato. The staff is friendly and helpful and the food is consistently good.
Excellent. As mentioned, it doesn't look like much on the outside, but the food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. We had ribs, pork sandwich, fries, spinach, corn, sweet tea, etc and it was all great.
Awesome. Had rib plate with onion rings. Meat fell off the bones full of meat not fat. When I got to town didn't know where to go for good BBQ no one really recommended any place, said where not to go. I stumbled on this one and glad I did. No frills restaurant. You order cafeteria style but the have beer. Great food friendly service.
Finally!! A real BBQ joint. Pulled pork BBQ sandwich and a sweet tea. I love Texas
Their sauce is a little intense, but in a good ole southern way. The meat itself, I wanna slap my momma its so good. This place made my day!
It's good.... This is a solid bbq joint. Good beef sandwiches, good sauce, good sides, excellent sweet tea.
But, bakers ribs is 4 blocks south....... but there is more parking here.
Better Dallas spot. So for BBQ in Dallas....it is good. I would say it is in the top 10 of the Area for sure. It is decorated with college football stuff so I love it.
Service, could use some work.
Food: Ribs, some of the better I've had so order those. The brisket needed some juice and some TLC but wasn't bad. Stay away from the Patato Salad as it was horrible! Seriously how do you mess that up.
The sauce was thin and a little sweet and the right fit for this place.
While not the best in Texas it is up there with some of the places in Dallas.
Ribs are legit.
What I order. Sweet tea
ribs
sliced beef
corn on the cob
pea salad
delicious!
and the chicken's pretty good too!
An hour before closing time, I was prepared for the possibility of sub-par meat. I ordered a brisket sandwich and two pork ribs to go. The brisket was nearly flawless with a strong smokiness throughout and perfect tenderness. The deep smokeline was encase
Great staff. Accommodated our senior singles group so well. On first Saturday of month, a banjo band plays. Great group. I had stuffed bake potato and peach cobbler. A friend had the ribs. All excellent. Love this place!!
Everything about this place is great!! Had the brisket and pork ribs which were both some of the tastiest 🤤 I've had in a while. The place feels very homey and it probably has to do with the trophies that were donated by a long time customer because his wife made him deconstruct his man cave 😬😕😞 and the pretty stained glass windows. Sides were all so tasty sounding it was hard to choose but I settled on the cream corn and baked potato casserole both again🔥🔥🔥. Have had other more expensive "big name" BBQ places that didn't come close to this flavor. Definitely a hidden gem. The staff was all so friendly and welcoming I'll definitely be making this my regular Dallas area BBQ joint whenever I come to town.
My sister had a baked potato with pull brisket sandwich not the best It was ok . But I won't be back . Quiet an clean location ok service . The staff jokes a little to much . My sister said pull pork an they jobe about it as if she said pulpo 🤔 not funny.
Everything here is good. Im not crazy about the potato salad, but to each their own. The staff is great and they seem to really care fore each other. Oh and the chili is the best
Back Country BBQ delivered the goods... via GrubHub. The food was delivered on time, and was still warm. The food container was nice.
I had a pulled pork sandwich with 2 sides. The pulled pork was more like chopped pork, but it was delicious and smoky. The hot sauce delivered a good degree of heat. And, the sauce was in a small container on the side... just the way I like it. The BBQ beans were delightfully piquant, smoky, and had a little heat of their own. The baked potato casserole was a very filling side. It had a spice I could not identify... kind of warm and earthy... very tasty, and complimentary to the BBQ. (Was it just toasted potato?) My only regret is that I didn't order peach cobbler.
Food - Perfection. People who work there - Wonderful and very friendly (Some of the people who used to work for the former owner are still there). The new owner is friendly and laid back and sure knows how to run a "barbeque joint." This place is unbelievable. The food and service have gotten even better than before. The chopped beef sandwich and the Texas/chocolate sheet cake are really fresh and great!! The atmosphere is truly Texan and laid back. It was good to walk in and see that nothing has changed, except for new tables and chairs. It looks just like it used to - the way we remembered - with all the decorations and funny signs! It's the BEST place to get honest-to-goodness , old-fashioned, great-tasting, high quality, and authentic Texas barbeque in Dallas for a very decent, fair and reasonable price. So glad to have a good ol' basic, no frills (not upscale fake "Dallas-style") genuine place to get real (not pretty) mouth-waterin' food. I can't say enough good things about Back Country BBQ; well I could, but it would take forever. I could write a book on how really wonderful and fabulous this place really is :) We stopped going there seven years ago because the area started going downhill and we didn't feel safe. The area seems to have improved, so we just started going back there yesterday, 11/4/2023, and we are SO glad we did. We have forgotten how really good this place is. It's so nice to go through a cafeteria line again and carry food on a tray to the table and sit down, relax and stay awhile and eat a meal without being interrupted by wait staff. A great BIG Thank You to all the loyal employees who get up every day and go to work there each and every day to cook up such good food and run a first class, top-notch barbecue place. Keep up the good work!!! They are wondering where all of their "old customers" are, so a note to everyone who used to go there years ago, do yourself a favor and go back - you're missing out. Words alone cannot express how good Back Country BBQ is, so if you got this far, great, but don't just take my hundreds of words for it, give it a second chance and support good people who are making an honest living.
The place has character. It's not my favorite decorum. I get it, it's barbecue, I don't need all the dead animal heads. On a food note, I came in around 8pm. They welcomed me in as they were locking their doors. It was my first time so I got a two meat plate: ribs & jalapeño cheddar sausage with 2 sides: baked potato casserole and Mac & cheese.
I'll let you be the judge of the taste. I enjoyed my meal. I spent $25/w tip.
There was nobody here at the time we went. For my birthday dinner. The guys were nice. But my loaded baked potato with chopped brisket was a disappointment. For what I paid, I should have gotten more brisket on it. It had very little. It was just a giant potato with a lot of cheese.
I’m really picky when it codes to bbq & this is My new favorite joint! Food is always tasty and fresh. My favorite is the brisket baked potato, it’s huge! Thanks to “Frank” for the recommendation! You must try it all!
The food was pretty good! Although I've had better just could use a little more flavor. But Juan's was great and they have great customer service.
