Love this place! Came for Sunday brunch and didn’t have to wait at all (bonus) for some delicious food! Great prices too. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and I had the tostadas. Don’t pass on the mason jar mimosas - half a bottle of champagne, splash of OJ for $5! Super cute ambiance and right in Bishops Arts district. New favorite spot.

My uncle recommended this awesome location. Its near the dart trolley stop, so you can avoid the hassle of parking. Once you walk in the the servers are nice. We went on a Sunday, so we ordered from the brunch menu which was very reasonable. I had the Texas Starters. Yummy!!! I think I was more in love with the trash fries!!! Yes, a cook got the fries so right! I loved the mimosas. Also, don't forget to make a wish on the wishing tree. I loved everything about the restaurant and plan to go back.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! A favorite of our friends for brunch. It's never a wait to be seated since it's a bit separate to the rest of Bishop. On a friend's birthday we came in with a party of 12 and only waited about 5 minutes. Great service every time.
If you enjoy mimosas I definitely recommend getting one here since each one is 1/2 a bottle of champagne and a splash of O.J. at 5 bucks a pop!
I love that they have Frito Pie here and so delicious! It's a childhood favorite and every time I have it I'm taken back to the good ol' days. Mom's Meatloaf Sandwhich is also a great choice. This place has actually won an award for best use of spam so if you've never had it this is the place to try it!
There's a lot of construction for new apartments next door so I know this place is going to be a major popular restaurant in future. Come in for a bite before the crowd. :)

Anyway, the food was good though!! And service was good too. The ambiance inside was also nice.

Wow. That's the first thing that came to mind when we tried The Local Oak. The food is great, service was fast and friendly. It is a little pricey but for a few dollars more than other chain restaurants you can get high quality food. I recommend the brisket biscuits. There is no child's menu so keep that in mind when bringing small children. My daughter enjoyed the green eggs (scrambled with spinach) and spam. The seasonal fruit is served in a Cinnamon bu hello style tortilla bowl and leaves you wanting more! There was no wait when we came at 11:00 on a Sunday.

Loved the food. Servicewas good and friendly. Be prepared - it's loud. Not just because of the live music. It's a loud place where lots of friends meet. The Texas BLT was great!

It pains me not to give five stars, we love this place and have been coming since they opened. The food and drinks were as good as always, but we waited for our drinks and to place our meal order for about 30 minutes, although it wasn't busy. Don't let that keep you from visiting, this was our first experience with slow service. The menu is small and what they do, they do well, never had a bad meal here!

the restaurant is a stone throw from a DART rail stop. Parking is a bit tight in the area so plan ahead on busy times. They have multiple TVs , and moderate seating for groups. I had the smoked green hatch enchiladas with an egg on top. They are delicious and medium spice so be ready. Service was friendly and quick.
