Review Tj's Seafood Market And Grill - Dallas

Very good food. The shrimp cocktail and lobster dip were excellent, and the crab cakes were full of actual crab with a minimum amount of fillers. The oysters Rockefeller was not worth $24 for 5 oysters. It was good but not $5/oyster good. Dessert was a bananas foster cake that was a tad underwhelming as the cake was a little too chewy.

Came back again a few weeks after my first visit and really enjoyed it! The shrimp tacos are phenomenal. I enjoyed the Caesar salad with smoked salmon (salmon def the star of the dish) but my friend got the house salad and asked for both of the dressings (wasabi and champagne) and wow…amazing, i want to go back just for that! My first time here and can’t wait to go back! Really enjoyed my visit. They’ve been around for 34 years now and Jon the owner, told us all about what they’re doing to really revamp TJ’s and you can see it, feel it and taste it! They have a little market in the front for you to grab and go. They have fish/seafood deliveries daily! So the selection (and where it’s coming from) constantly changes. Everything was so fresh (never frozen) and perfectly cooked. You could taste how fresh everything was. The lobster in the lobster roll was just wow…no hiding cheap or frozen lobster there - lightly dressed in butter and it was all about the lobster (and a great bun from a local bakery). Got to try a little bit of everything (it was an invited dinner but you could tell from everything I heard and saw, that the quality is good consistently, not just this one time) and I am grateful for it! A few dishes I would’ve never thought to order on my own but thoroughly enjoyed and want to go back for again especially the sea bass enchiladas … wow, amazing. They have a handful of dishes that they’ve had around forever because their locals / consistent clientele come back again and again for certain things but they also refresh parts of the menu from time to time (which they just did) and I think they do a great job of keeping what’s popular while also bringing in some fresh new things. The smoked salmon Caesar salad was unbelievably good. If I lived around the corner I’d literally be there once a week just for that, right up my alley. I really enjoyed everything. The tacos were great, you can get them a few different ways (on corn, flour or lettuce wrap; fried or grilled). The dips (cold spread trio) were really delicious. Excellent shrimp cocktail and the coconut shrimp was good but I could’ve used more coconut (and bigger shreds of it…tasted more like fried shrimp than coconut shrimp). The bacon aioli sauce for the hush puppies was awesome. The salmon over creamed corn and broccolini was really nice. The whole menu sounds amazing, and great to have an excellent option for seafood in an area that’s predominantly bbq and meat focused. Desserts were also really nice, made in house there. The key lime cheesecake was my favorite. The chocolate pie was great. The bananas foster was their own spin with angel food cake I think? A nice lighter option for dessert. But the cheesecake won out for sure. Highly recommend!

The food was fantastic, good enough that I would want to go back and try every menu item. Who would have thought Dallas would have so many excellent Gulf coast style seafood restaurants. Environment is a little noisy when busy and waitress took a while to get to us though service was excellent once she got around to us. Highly recommend.

Tj's has been serving Dallas the freshest seafood for 34 years. We enjoyed our dinner immensely. Great service and menu selections. Thank Ceci for the amazing service!!!

This place is really good, can’t wait to try other menu items. By far best dish is the fish and chips. I tried the hot lava shrimp stater it was very delicious. Spicy noodles very filling. I came back and I got the lobster roll, it’s not the best thing on the menu. Mashed potatoes were OK but they were warm not fresh in my opinion. The lemons they give you with the roll is great. Will be back Little pricey but food is worth most of the time. Molten lava cake was too sweet ice cream was good. Ice cold water refilled when needed by attentive servers.

The food is delicious and comes out quickly. It does smell very strongly of fish, but that's expected of a fish market. The hot lava shrimp is amazing.

Very nice elegant restaurant. Small from the outside, a little bigger then u think once u walk in. Everything we ate was delicious. We had a birthday celebration for my step son. Everyone had a good time and enjoyed the food. With all the food and drinks the price was will worth it

Our go to seafood spot in Dallas. Highlights are the fried calamari, seafood chowder, shrimp tacos wrapped in bibb lettuce, and the trout or halibut. Great service and a variety of drinks are a nice bonus.

Can't make it to Maryland or Cape Cod? Want something other than New Orleans seafood? (Which I like...) Then TJ's is the place. They have fresh seafood dishes. Tamara was a great server and the Cesar salad dressing is the best anywhere. I had the chilean seabass enchiladas, definitely not east coast, but I had Trout before OMG delicious....so tempted to order again. But I was trying to explore the menu and be a little bit more adverturous. ***TIP** Oftentimes, when I go to a new restaurant, I ask the server what their favorite dish is. They usually have the "inside scoop" of what to order and....(most importantly) what not to order. My leap of faith was rewarded with an avalanche of rich decadent flavor. The combination of cheese tortilla fish and slightly spicy salsa was a religious experience...shivers down my spine. I followed up the meal of a scrumptous Key Lime pie for dessert. Get there before 5 to avoid the crowds. Make reservations if you want to saunter in a little later or you will have a fairly decent wait. The wait would be worth it because the food is that good. But if you can avoid it...then do!

We came for dinner and had the 1/2 dozen oysters, jalapeño corn hushpuppies, Caesar salad, and lobster roll. Everything was 10/10 delicious. Each order was better than the next! I have never been a huge lobster fan but the lobster roll was out of this world. Service and atmosphere was great!

10/10 on the food... delicious! I'm usually disappointed with lobster rolls but this was really good! The clam chowder was pretty awesome too. A bit pricy at $39 for the lobster roll but good nonetheless.

Came here only for the lobster roll and left with a bit smile and belly full of a roll, truffle fries, slaw, and dessert. The food is great here at least on the roll that i had. I will definitely come here again when i want a good lobster roll or some fresh seafood. The place even seems like a great place to have a date night when you both crave seafood or a quick lunch. It seems they serve food to go and you can order online so that also means you can eat this food and take it to go. I haven't had any of their selection of wins or cocktails so i will have to waive that as being good, but i will rate this again if i find anything different. The service was great and not overwhelming. The food came quick. Again the lobster roll was so good. The bread was so buttery.
