I absolutely adore this establishment, the food, the service and the overall atmosphere just intertwine with each other so well. I see why it has been going on for over 25 years. I took my lovely date out to eat here and it exceeded my expectations. The food and drink is on the expensive side but it is worth every penny! The staff are so nice and friendly. I sat at the bar where we were greeted by Alan and David, swear to god their smiles would light up your whole evening, the food was beyond amazing, something you wouldn’t find anywhere else it is truly so fresh and delicious! The servers that weren’t even at our table would come by and check on us, top off our waters, and always asked us if we needed anything else! Honestly I am so amazed by this customer service I wish I could give them a 100 stars! Dylan and Zoe were very helpful and kind throughout the whole night when we were there :) I highly recommend this place for new comers and regulars to visit this place! 10/10

Incredible selections throughout the whole menu. And super sweet, knowledgeable staff. My favorite restaurant in a lot of categories: Japanese cuisine, raw foods, seafood, sake, vibes

This is a Dallas classic for traditional Japanese sushi and robata. It’s not the trendiest or flashiest restaurant in town, but it’s hard to find fault with the expertly prepared grilled items or fabulous sushi and sashimi. Atmosphere is quiet and subdued, and service is extremely attentive.

My son & his girlfriend took us Tei Tei Japanese restaurant in town for my special day. We ordered more than 10 different dishes, served in order with special wine. Really good and fresh food, extremely delicious, experience is wonderful.

The food here was phenomenal. This is not coming from someone that hasn't had some of the best sushi in Okinawa Japan. You can taste the freshness in every bite and the service is great. Food service come and refill your water and beer as soon as it gets to mid-glass

Tremendous restaurant from the same owner of Tei-An, a longtime favorite (note the same cornflake shrimp tempura). We particularly loved the yellowtail collar and miso sea bass (which I daresay is considerably better than Nobu's).

We enjoyed their robata and the whole grilled fish! The sushi is average. A bit disappointed on their “feed me” roll. It supposed to be a chef special and a surprise but it was just some California rolls with salmon on top. Service is very good though.

If you want some Japanese style grilled fish/meats and sushi, this place is solid. Ambiance was upscale and chic, food service and quality were both good. The nigiri sushi I ordered (salmon roe, いくら) was the freshest I've had in Tx, although you pay for the privledge. The softshell crab salad was also quite nice.

I originally chose Tei Tei Robata for sushi. There was not a large selection of rolls. But that doesn't knock this amazing restaurant at all! This dimly-lit and atmospheric restaurant has all kinds of seating arrangements for various personality types. The bar staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable! The chefs are not slouches, either! The traditional dishes were excellent! The surprise of the night was the hearty Cornflake Crusted Shrimp (featuring a goodly amount of meaty shrimp) that delivers when you want something different than Panko crusting. This restaurant is deserving of its praise!

The dinner was so good! We had Ashley as our server, and she was extremely nice and helpful with guiding us through the meal. The sushi was pretty good, but the Robata! Wow! The grilled Branzino (bass) was easily my favorite part of the meal. Highly recommend!

Absolutely outstanding. We had Omakase (7 courses) and they were all fantastic. It was great to get a sampling of some of their best dishes without agonizing over what to get. The semi private room is a nice touch.

Food is delicious on top of exceptional service. The staff here is knowledgeable and makes sure that you're well taken care of throughout your time dining with them. The frog leg karaage with maitake was an exquisite plate to kick off your journey. The chewy mushroom goes well with the exotic almost-taste-like-chicken texture of the frog legs. The sauce further complements the pairs since it's lightly sour and savory. Miso seabass itself was a delightful dish because you clearly taste the flavor of miso in every bite. Sushi rolls was fresh and flavorful in its own fashion. But what stands out the most for me was the A5 wagyu on hot rock because the experience enhances the food since you're deciding how to cook the wagyu yourself and the dipping sauce they provide was *chef kiss. Overall, outstanding experience dining here and definitely will come back!

The plates here are VERY small so if you have a voracious appetite, meal can get very expensive. On the other hand, if you eat lightly but prefer very high quality food, Tei Tei Robata is the place for you. Recommended: Sashimi varieties are fresh, which is surprising for Dallas area. The carpaccio are especially good, with the delicate balance between sweet n sour ponzu sauce and the fish. Not recommended: Dessert. Nothing fancy. The chicken karaage is decent but not worth spending money for. Do reserve tables in advance, because it gets busy quickly.
