Review Garden Cafe - Dallas

The atmosphere is enchanting and my photos don't really do it justice. The owners have put a lot of loving energy into the ambiance. There are cooling fans that blow water from the posts of the bergola and there are mini fans for each table. One minute you are driving along bustling Gaston Avenue then you drive a couple of blocks to Junius and you transported to this serene oasis. There is literally a garden with plants, flowers, and herbs. The only thing I did not care for is dining with dogs. I am a pet lover but I leave my pets at home or take them to venues designed for animals like a dog park. They do their best to make some item menus from scratch. The service is excellent. I was advised it is best to make a reservation online and you can even request your preferred seat! This place is a cut above but is only open on Thursday, Fri, Sat and Sunday so make your way there as it will fill your belly and lift your spirits!

This was like a little secret garden. I feel like the secret was how amazing the food was. Literally, everything we ate was so good. Shrimp and grits were delicious (I'm a NOLA frequenter... and it was legit good). The dessert was awesome too. And my son met some new friends in the garden! The Mondrain Composition coop was so cute ❤️💙💛. Definitely will go back. Such a sweet spot.

I ordered Country Boy Benedict, it was good in taste and fresh. The gravy was yummy. Macchiato came in a cute cup and was strong. I didn't like the Strawberry Shortcake it was just cream and strawberries on the biscuit. The biscuit was salty and it was weird in taste.

I had the most magical wedding in the garden. Everyone said it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had, and Mark is the best and most easygoing to work with. I’ve had brunch here dozens of times, but getting married here is on another level. Thank you, Garden Cafe!

On a quiet sunday morning, this lil cafe proves to be the best decision we made in under 10mins after our 7mile trail at the White Rock Lake. Located comfortably about 3miles from the beautiful white rock lake, this cafe is situated in a quaint neighborhood and has ample seating both indoors and outdoors. Love their website and menu, the classic french toast and garden omlette (with vegan sausage) was to die for! Great service and ambiance. Definitely going here again😄

Beautiful outside patio area surrounded by a lush vegetable garden. There are a couple of chickens and a child's play area. The inside dining area is cozy with comfortable booths. If you want to eat in the garden on a weekend, make reservations! The food is delicious, and the portions are good. Lots of menu items that cater to everyone, including vegetarians. The staff is funny and attentive. Our waiter Holden gave us lots of suggestions, and his witty banter kept everyone laughing. This is the perfect place to eat outside when the weather is great. If the weather is an issue, just eat inside and enjoy all the terrific home cooked food!

I am staying in Old East Dallas and found this place walking distance from my apartment. It’s in a beautiful neighborhood! They have a nicely decorated indoor area and bar as well as a large back patio. I’ve been for dinner now a few times and brunch once. Service is always great and the food is amazing. I’ve tried 4 different dinner options and haven’t been disappointed yet. Love checking out the garden as well.

The service was great. I was seated quickly and our server was friendly. I had the gnocchi and my friend had the roasted chicken. All delicious!!! Cute patio! There's misting fan outside too, which is nice for the hot summer nights. There's plenty of seating. There's free parking and plenty of it. I would def recommend this place to anyone. I feel like it's a little hidden gem just south of Lower Greenville tucked into a neighborhood.

I ABSOLUTELY love this place. It’s definitely a hidden gem. It feels like I drove out of town to a farm and ate the best pancakes ever. It was nice walking around to see all the veggies that were planted in the garden and the chickens they have. Visiting gave me so much serotonin.

I got there at almost closing time. I think they are only open for breakfast & lunch. I ordered the meatloaf, seasoned rice & sauteed zucchini. It was delicious. Only drawback was the rice. Lacking in flavor and had an overcooked texture to it. The people that work there are very nice and laid back. The guy in the kitchen could change his voice to sound like a parrot which I found entertaining and funny. They grow their own veggies out back by the patio. Go check it out.

Garden Cafe has been going down hill for a while and today it reached the bottom. We paid $80 for a breakfast that took 1 hour and 5 minutes to come out and was basically inedible. They said nothing about any wait when we checked out - we would never have stayed with 2 small kids. After 40 minutes we finally got a hold of the manager to ask about our food and she snapped back “It’s a 45 minute wait.” There was no apology for not having told us at checkout. When the food finally came, all of the meals were undercooked and I found 2 strands of hair in my omelette. We’ll be crossing this place off our list. And judging by the other very unhappy customers around us, we won’t be the only ones.

This place is fantastic! From the service to the food everything is great! I highly recommend it! Try the cappuccino with the Lavender sweetener!

Garden Café is one of my favorite breakfast venues. Great food, prices and ambiance. The bacon is to die for.

First time there yesterday and it was just wonderful. The staff was incredibly nice and the food was amazing. Added bonus that we got to bring our own wine. We spent most of the afternoon on the patio and it was just perfect for such a sunny day. Fed a little sparrow, listened to all of the birds in the trees. Thanks so much for a great day guys.

The food and service is amazing. Garden cafe has become my favorite breakfast spot. Sitting outside amongst the garden is so peaceful and serene. A perfect place for family and pets.

Great food really loved it. My chicken fried steak batter needed a bit more salt and pepper but otherwise everything was fantastic. I’ve been going here since they opened and I’m grateful that the quality has been maintained.

Great patio, especially with the gardens. Great food. Pet friendly patio.

Great setting, delicious food, and a restaurant that works in a cool old neighborhood shopping center. Garden Cafe embraced our neighborhood rather than leveling it. The garden is lovely. The food is fresh. The service is friendly. The owners are good people who invest in the community and have made it better! Oh yes, and the sweet potato pancakes? Try them!

Such a lovely oasis in the midst of our big city. Loved the menu, the friendly staff, the comfortable seating (inside and out), but MOST especially loved the fresh food and options for this vegetarian. I always appreciate local, organic produce and theirs is outstanding!

Ambiance is great! Felt hurried in line. Prefer waiter/waiteess. Fruit was superb. Potatoes needed some zip. They were bland. Adding herbs/spices, make crunchier and add bell and onion would work. For the price of 50.00 for three--I thought it was over-priced for what I received.

Fantastic food, and the coolest patio garden atmosphere in town. Very cozy experience. Also, Mark Wooton is a genuinely rad person -- aside from the restaurant, he's generous in his willingness to help a neighbor with anything from moving a sofa to lending a shovel for a proper feline burial.

A bad manager can take a good staff and destroy everything, causing the best to leave and the remaining to become indifferent

Best veggie burger and okra in town. Really good coffee too. Havn't been disapointed.

This place used to be one of my favorites in all of Dallas! Today, as we waited in line, the cashier made the announcement, "Just so you now, it is a 50 minute wait for food, after you order." This is the 3rd and last time that I have heard this announcement when there were very few people there. Is the management aware their staff are inviting people to leave???
