Review St. Pete's Dancing Marlin - Dallas

I am simply amazed with the weird menu and its incredible flavor. Everything was fresh no corners cut. Service was beyond my expectations. Ask question before ordering, everything is made a little different. Portions are great and you will love the beer selection and price. The place is what you expect from a Texas place. Great job guys

We dined here on 15 SEP 2023. Absolutely amazing food. Great menu with a lot of choices. Easy to find something you like - hard to choose which dish to eat because there are so many love dishes. The server this day was a little reserved at first but opened up after a short while. Nice and professional. The place is also interesting - nicely decorated with a lot of fun and interesting stuff. They also got beer, wines and cocktails. What’s not to like about this place. Definitely a place to come back to. One of our favourite restaurants in Deep Ellum.

A Dallas staple for 20 plus years. If you give this place less than 5 stars you should have your privileges revoked. If this place wasn't in Deep Ellum it would be packed every night. Food is all quality here and the bar is very extensive. Pictured is the Chicken Fried Tuna Steak sandwich. If you like tuna, you're gonna fall out of your chair after you taste this thing. One of the best sandwiches I've ever had. And it's huge too! The atmosphere is so on point here as well. It has all the feels you want in a down home, relaxed restaurant/bar. So casual and always friendly. Don't let this place fade away Dallas! Stop in and give it the love it's given us for decades!

Fun place, eclectic decor all over. Relaxed, casual, good for groups. Large menu, not just your typical bar food. Food was decent. I tried the cornmeal crusted catfish which was pretty good, tater tots with it were good. Decent wings on the apps menu. The steak fingers not so good - just a weird dish but my partner was curious to try them. The skinny margarita (aka doesn’t have all the simple syrup or sweet and sour mix) was actually quite good, enjoyed that. Not necessarily a place I would be craving to come back for the food but I heard their catering food is great but I would come back for the atmosphere or if you’re with people who are picky eaters and prefer something simple.

Kinda cool spot in Deep Ellum with a funky vibe. I only had an appetizer and beer. Had the wings, which were great. There were 10 to 12 in our party, and the assortment of food all looked appetizing, and I heard no complaints. All compliments regarding the food..suggest you visit.

Absolutely love this place! One of my all time favorite burgers & the best fried pickles. Everything on their menu is always delicious & they offer pretty much any type of food you’d be looking for! I love the character & hospitality of their staff. I wish I would have come here sooner, but am so glad I’ve found such a gem! Don’t miss out on this place!!

What a fun place. My wife and I were in Dallas and decided to go out to Deep Ellum. We came across the Dancing Marlin. The atmosphere is cozy and the decorations are very eclectic. Apparently they are known for their seafood. I had the Chicken Fried Tuna and my my wife had the Tuna Tacos. At first I was a little leary about fried tuna steak. Wow! It was great. I was concerned that it would be over cooked and dried out. Thus was not the case. The steak was crispy on the outside and moist and pink in the middle. Great! The fish Tacos were also very tasty. The fish in the Tacos were also very moist and cooked perfectly. This is a fun place to visit.

Love this place. Had a great experience here. Customer service A+. Food was good - chicken fried steak strips, chicken fried tuna, lasagna- try those first. Huge beer selection. New local family favorite.

I’ve been here twice, because of two things. 1) a dog friendly patio. And 2) a chicken fried steak and baked potato that is worthy of being a bucket list item. They call it a Tom Green County CFS. I don’t care what you call it. Just ring the dinner bell and I’ll come running. It is, quite simply put, the best CFS I have ever eaten. The seasoning is very well done and concentrated a bit toward the gravy. Very well done. The $2.00 upgrade for a baked potato is well worth it. They arrive fully loaded, and so big that they actually have been assigned their own ZIP Code by the USPS. Amazining meal, atmosphere, and while I have seen some complaints about service, I have not had any issues. My service has been good both times I went there. I have no complaints, and I’ll definitely be back the next time I get to craving for a CFS.

This is a no brainer. Pete serves up a great menu with variety to the point you could have a different meal everyday out of the week. The atmosphere is visual yet cozy and quite entertaining. You never know who you’ll run into at St Pete’s. Most the time Pete himself. Great place to have a cocktail and the pasta and calamari are awesome!

I've been going to this place for years! It's my monthly, sometimes a weekly spot. I am a real stickler on menu items, so I would always get the wings and a burger or Pasta Diablo( with chocolate milk of course). One day a friend asked me to try out the chicken tenders. I'm not big on tenders normally, but holy mackerel they were good. Since then I've fallen for the Catfish & Shrimp combo too!! Once again, I normally hate catfish, but there's something different about it... it's super fresh and has a great cornmeal crust. Thanks Pete for the great food!!!!

Everything exceeded my expectations here. I ordered a clam, artichoke, and goat cheese pizza and it was honest to god the best pizza I’ve ever had. The gluten free crust was a nice addition as well. Pete had some great stories and a quirky unique humor about him that just makes this cozy business even more valuable to the deep ellum community! Thanks Pete and team :)

Great atmosphere. Unfortunately that is all that I found great about this place. We walked in. Sat down. Ordered drinks and waited 15 -20 minutes before our server came back with drinks and took our order. Then another 40 + before our server came back with my Tuna steak sandwich, tastes pretty good except it was cold. We tried for the whole time we sat to get another round of drinks, we actually got tired of waiting for our waitress to come back and ordered, not once but twice frome the Bartender and never got our drinks. I will not be going back. I will not be recommending this establishment to anyone. I was very disappointed, having heard so much about this place.

The food was great, staff was friendly and atmosphere was nice. The portion of the food was a lot so well worth the cost which is reasonable too.

My favorite hangout in downtown Dallas. Friendly, great food, live music and the owner is one of the coolest cat's you'll ever meet.

I had a pizza and chose the toppings. I can’t believe I’ve never had scallops on pizza before...incredible! I’ve eaten here many times and am never disappointed.

Service has always been top notch, food is great! Added bonus it is one of few places to sit on a patio and enjoy a drink and cigar without being hassled!

My pet Marlin had been feeling blue so I took him to Pete’s hoping he could find a cute Marlin to dance with (all the cutest girls hang at St. Pete’s). There were no dancing Marlins but I had the best pasta with garlic and oil EVER! ...and my Marlin was so happy with the chocolate brownie dessert that he started dancing on the bar all by himself!!! Do yourself a favor and eat a Pete’s. Best grub in town.

This place was fantastic. They had the best grilled tuna I’ve ever had!
