We stopped here after searching best seafood in Dallas... yes, seafood. We didn't want to dress fancy but wanted quality too. At the market downtown Dallas was perfect. The oysters and crabcakes were to perfection. The jalapeño crab bisque was good for a change-up. They service was exceptional and hospitality spot on.
This is a great spot to grab something to eat while at the market especially if you like seafood. They have a good menu with a variety of options and they serve brunch too which is a plus. I wasn’t too crazy about the crawfish hushpuppies because I didn’t really like the raspberry chipotle sauce. The crab cake sandwich was good and a really great portion for the price. The service was quick and friendly! The bar was busy (it was Sunday) so there was a wait to sit at the counter. I enjoyed the open space and being in the market, really fun and relaxing vibe!
Located in the historic Farmers Market in Downtown Dallas is Rex’s Seafood. I ordered the salmon burger with sweet potatoes fries. Let me start with the fries first because they were AMAZING! I fell in love with those fries from the first bite! They were hot, fresh with savory and sweet undertones. The salmon burger was amazing, and this was my first experience with such a burger. That avocado slices on the burger took me to flavor town! LOL. The atmosphere is really cool. I hadn’t been to “The Market” since they actually had farmers selling their produce when I was a kid. I’m definitely going back to eat at Rex’s again.
Seaside Omelette, crab legs, bacon scallops, and calamari were fantastic. The meat just melted in your mouth.
This place is a hidden gem. Their redfish and spinach was yummy. We also ordered the shrimp crab nachos - they had me had crab and nachos. Our group also had crawfish and oysters. Not a oyster eater but they have a huge selection. I also took home a quart of crab tortilla soup I cant wait to try. Shoutout to server/bartender Jerry who provided great customer service.
Delicious food and fun area! We ordered both of the lobster rolls, shrimp pasta, and I forget what the other pasta dish was, but it was all amazing. Also ordered a couple appetizers. Will be back!
Had lunch around 1 pm, not busy at all. Went for a lobster roll but noticed they also had a soft shelled crab sandwich. Ended getting both. Hot lobster roll was really good on the buttered brioche roll. The soft shelled crab sandwich stole the show. It was served on a ciabatta bun and fessed with a coleslaw. Only downside is the shrimp cocktail should be renamed to cocktail shrimp.
We go often! The food and service is always GREAT! Last weekend they went above and beyond with a request and I had to leave a review! FYI - The Oysters are AMAZING! Clean and already shucked!

My mom has seafood allergy all her life and when she has been doing chemotherapy, she lost her seafood allergy and this is the first place we went to. So, when we were here, it was such a special moment. She can finally have fish ‘n chips after 45 years of being allergic to seafood. So, I would say I love this place and also because they serve fresh and delicious food ❤️💯
