It is rare that I give give stars but Sammy's is well worth it. I had the two meat plate which was a great price for the amount of food given. The food was excellent an the customer service was remarkable. This absolutely a place that I will be frequenting often.

Wow! Fantastic Texas barbecue with all the trimmings. We have been eating at Sammy’s for longer than we can remember. But we moved out of town and don’t get to come here as often. We came for lunch today and it was amazing. My wife had the brisket and I had the turkey and both were perfectly smoked, tender and very flavorful. But the sides are out of this world as well. Great french fries and onion rings, both of which are prepared fresh when you order. They have homemade fried okra, coleslaw, and it goes on and on. The staff are very friendly and the restaurant is in a great, rustic, Texas themed setting. It’s in the heart of uptown, and easy to get to from anywhere. I know this sounds like an ad but it’s just that it’s so good I want other people to discover it as well!!
Delicious brisket sandwich. Ribs that are so tender the meat falls right off the bone. And delicious BBQ sauce. Excellent service from staff & very reasonable prices.
Food was fantastic, but portions were on the smaller side, but then it did not cost us an arm and a leg either. Not a waited table place. Belly up to the food area, order, pay and find a seat.
Wooooooo. Hot darn, this place is great. Get your tray and pick your options. The fried okra is a must. Everything was so good.

Delicious . Stumbled upon this place while visiting Texas. They offer indoor as well as outdoor seating . This is honestly the best . The side dishes were enormous and delicious . After I told them I was from out of town and absolutely loved the food , they gave me some of my favorite sides to take back to the hotel. Such a fun atmosphere coupled with delicious food . So happy we stopped here
Was in town for an Insurance business meeting and had lunch here. Excellent food and service. Went back right before my flight back home and packed my food to make sure it would not spill on the plane. Make sure you try this place when in Dallas!
Friendly place.... very friendly! Was in Dallas for a couple of days for a conference, so had to try the famous Texas bbq. Chose this restaurant as it was in walking distance from the hotel (per Google maps). A bit pricey for picnic type food... think all I ordered came to $23 something but then again, if you knew how to order it probably would be fine. I was a bit overwhelmed by all the choices and it was a lot of food!!! Have to say that baked potato casserole (dish at top right) was really good... ribs very tender too.
