Review Steel City Pops - Dallas

Heidi Behan
There isn't much to this little gem but it was on our to do list for Dallas and it did not disappoint! We chose fruity Popsicles instead of creamy so we didn't add any toppings but if we were to get creamy next time, we would definitely add some toppings. This is a fun place with delicious treats, especially to beat the Dallas heat!

Yummy pops! I had the key lime pie and my daughter had coconut cream pie dipped in dark chocolate. Both were fantastic! They were pretty big. I would have been satisfied with half of one but it was too good to waste! Can't wait to go back! ❤️

Been here quite a bit every time I go to Greenville. Their popsicles are delicious no questions ask! I am absolutely in love with the Tuxedo Crush but it is very sweet and creamy! Kiddo will love it for sure

Pretty unique and tasty pop. @ $3 a pop and extra for dips & stuff. I got the blueberry basil. One of the cashier wasn't the friendliest faces working at a ice cream spot. (Monotone & no eye contact) May be she had a bad day.

This is my second visit. I would love to high five the recruiter because both times the employees have made it such a pleasant experience! They seriously know the product, have great suggestions, and know how to explain all your options clearly. We had the tuxedo and banana cookie crunch. Both were absolutely delicious!!! They do have dairy free options which was a must have for me. There was seating available to watch the process of how the sicles are made which added to the uniqueness of the environment. We will definitely be back!! Thanks for such a positive experience! :)

Tried Steel City Pops while in Birmingham for work and have been a fan ever since! I am a fan of the fruit based pops and went with a Strawberry Lemonade and my girlfriend got the cookie dough, dipped in chocolate. Both pops were excellent and service was friendly and fast. I will definitely be back.

Great pops! Just had the Peach Cream. The kid had root beer but they changed the recipe and added more ginger, so he said it was a bit spicy. Place is very clean and a great place to hang out on a hot day.

The employees are always so helpful and accommodating with questions and inquiries. A gentleman behind the counter was even so kind as to bring me some napkins after he saw my son thoroughly enjoying his treat and making a slight mess all over his jacket. Thank you to that kind gent, and thank you, Steel City Pops, for always providing delicious treats that my son and I can enjoy even when it's 37 degrees outside!

Tasted like those sweet tast of your childhood, very nostalgic to us! My 3 years old also loved the ice cream!

Such a cool spin on dessert! And it feels a lot lighter than eating a piece of cake. I will always go here when going to dallas. Blueberry is my favorite of the fruitys and pistachio is my favorite of the creamys.

Stopped in when I saw a Facebook promotion cuz I was close by. I had the peanut butter popsicle dipped in dark chocolate and dusted with espresso dust!!! Yummm!!!! Not only was the selection huge and delicious but the service I got from Taylor telling me all about the business and the concept was top notch. I had no idea it started in Birmingham and I went to the University of Alabama. Taylor signed me up for the rewards club so I get a free popsicle every 10 I purchase as well as gave me a free gift popsicle stick for my next visit. She even told me where several other locations are since I drive around all around DFW for work. In short, super yummy popsicles and extremely great service!!!

Poppin' pops!!!!! Flavors are insane. Try avocado. Red velvet dipped in white chocolate drizzled in pecans, rosemary plum.....the list goes on!!!! Never disappoint!

Lots of flavors to choose from. I think their dip options are limited with only three flavors, but their is something that goes with everything they offer.

Fresh, low calorie pops - sign me up any day! Love this location so cute and preppy! Its small and not really any place to eat the pops inside that I saw, but man the flavors are incredible and they do allow you to have samples before you buy. We took ours to go and they had a little to go freezer baggie that came with our pops at no extra cost. Not the cheapest place, but the experience and flavors are really good!

Delicious popsicles! Please turn music up inside the store. It’s awkwardly quiet in the front. The front desk girls are super nice. Please install some type of fly/bug killing device. So many flies flying around in there was a little gross.

Another favorite dessert spot, how can you not go wrong with a popsicle. I got the buttermilk with caramel drizzle and it was GOOD! I would recommend trying a flavor you wouldn't normally try!

This was my first time here! I really impressed by the variety they offered and the seasonal pops. I tried the Pumpkin flavored and was very impressed. They need to do a better job of posting prices of those "extra" items or make sure the cashier is explaining that to customers. Otherwise very nice location and a good treat. I did speak with the manager about those extras and they are working to get signs created which made me happy to hear!

Just dip some high-quality gelato-on-a-stick in chocolate and add toppings. What's not to love?

So, I had one of these famous pops first at a school day where I was serving with another company. I dragged my wife out to the store because the pops were so good! I grabbed a 'Spicy Ginger Ale' and was pleasantly surprised. It did indeed taste like Ginger ale, and the spicy was almost too much, but it was super enjoyable all the same. My wife got a cherry sour cream pop covered in milk chocolate, and we devoured it. I recommend to anyone looking for a great popsicle!

My first thought was "this has to be overrated," but it is totally worth the hype! Wonderful for a quick dessert. Diverse flavors. Delicious!

Fresh popsicles made with fruit, juices and cream. Nothing artificial here! Popsicles are $3 + per pop but they are yummy! Honeydew 🍈 was the surprising hit at our family.

I'm a huge fan of restaurants that use all natural ingredients and Steel City does! A popsicle with no artificial ingredients or colors? I'm in! Delicious and unusual flavors which are seasonal. I need to go and try the fall flavors but Strawberry Balsamic & Root Beer are my summer favorites. Only bad thing-it's cramped! I haven't been by when this place isn't crazy busy with a line out the door. Good for them-sometimes sweaty and awkward for us line-waiters.

Really good!! What a great idea and alternative to a icecream shop. It was delicious. I got chocolate, very creamy and good. Have to eat it fast though. With the Texas heat it was melting quick!

There are very few places worthy enough to have their distinct identity and yet be successful. Steel City Pops is one of them.

Pros:

1. Unique Pop flavors. From creamy to fruity. Wide variety to choose from.

2. Good ambiance of the area its located in.

3. Friendly staff.

Cons:

1. Parking is just madness.

2. Serving portion is so huge that by the end of the eating it, you are just finishing it and not loving it. The happiness quotient decreases rapidly after half of the popsicle.

3. Pricey but hey that's what gourmet food is about.

All in all, definitely a go to place for more than normal occasions. But not sure if I will go here every time I have a craving for popsicle.

Only reason I didn't give 5.0 is because of the price. REALLY COOL PLACE AND REALLY YUM POPSICLES. I go very often but keep in mind you will pay $5 for one pop! Get vanilla chocolate chip, it's the best.

I came here after lunch a few weeks ago and I loved it! All of their flavor options look great so I had a tough time deciding but I ended up going with the coffee popsicle and I couldn't have been happier! It's made from freshly ground coffee beans and is perfectly sweet and creamy. I will absolutely be back!

What's not to love?! It's exactly what it claims to be--and a MUCH needed respite from the heat. I went with their most popular, the strawberry lemonade. I had been craving a lemonade, had a popsicle version instead! I did notice that those of us who ordered the fruit-based pops had MUCH less difficult problem of them melting too quickly given the insane 100-degree heat than my friend who got a vanilla one, which was melting faster than she could eat it. All around, delicious, cheap, and the two girls at the counter were super sweet!

Can't go wrong here! Flavors are both inventive and familiar, and the pops are priced to move. Can often get crowded since there is limited counter space, and plenty of patio space to sit and eat the pops before they melt.
Eating Out
Steel City Pops is a very trendy location with a constant line out the door. It's roots are based in Alabama where a family had a great experience with all natural pops traveling with their kids. From that experience, the owner decided he wanted to offer this great tasting natural alternative to families everywhere. It's been a home run expanding from Alabama to Texas.

This location was busy with a line out the door for the two hours we were in the Lower Greenville area. While the line is very long, it moves fast. Most people know what they want by the time they reach the counter. It just takes a minute to hand you a pop and pay. I had the Peanut Butter Chocolate pop (400 calories). My daughter had the fruit strawberry pop (119 calories). As far as tastes go, it's good but not great. The concept and healthier menu options are why I gave this 4 stars instead of 3. I doubt I will personally be back, but I highly recommend this if you are walking up and down Lower Greenville.

You really can't go wrong with any option at SCP. My go-to choices are watermelon and strawberry lemonade, but the creme-based pops are always super good... Especially the cookie pops :) The line is crazy long on weekend nights, but it's worth the wait.

Yum! I'm not a big sweets or ice cream person but who can resist a popsicle?! The avocado is my favorite, followed by blood orange. Perfect on any hot Texas day!

Hello ice cream lovers, your dreams just came true! I tried this trendy Popsicle shop this weekend and can't get over my new obsession. The menu is cultivated of refreshing fruity flavors, as well as creamy ones. My favorite thing about this lower Greenville spot is the minimalistic design of the interior. White walls+black detailing = a blogger's dream kitchen. Am I right? Anyways, I ordered the vanilla brownie bar. It is literally a brownie nested inside creamy vanilla ice cream! My boyfriend got the chocolate chip cookie bar inside vanilla ice cream. Naturally I tried his and it was delicious! The cookie pops collection is fairly new to the menu but is a must to try. Just be sure to get a large stack of napkins so you don't look like a dripping slob like I did. Oh and just incase you need some fashion inspiration,(you probably do) head on over to www.hannahbethstyle.com !
Stay Glam,
Hannah Beth

Steel City Pops only uses certified organic products, and they try to use local produce when available. Their pops come in a wide range of flavors. Sadly I only got the chance to try two of their flavors. Coconut, so creamy and fresh, and Coffee Brownie. It’s literally a brownie and coffee ice cream smashed together with a stick through the middle. Dear lord it was so good I ate two of them.
Everything Glitters In Texas
I am a little obsessed with this place. Great location off of Greenville to grab dessert after dinner. There seems to always be a line, but I definitely think it's worth the wait. They switch up flavors pretty often, but I am a big fan of the Strawberry Lemonade one they have currently. If you want a "creamy" flavor, caramel and peanut butter are both great choices! If it's summertime, though, I highly advise asking to keep the plastic because they will drip like crazy in this Texas heat and humidity.
The H Is For...
At first, I thought this concept wouldn't last, because popsicles seem to only be treats enjoyed in the summer, but boy was I wrong!! They've got the art of blending great tastes together into many different flavors that are unique and tasty! The popsicles, themselves are filling and never disappoint. I love that they are made with natural ingredients and change seasonally to reflect what's in season! I'm SO GLAD they are here to stay! The line is always long, but it moves quickly.

My Favorites:
Chocolate
Vanilla and Chocolate Chip Cookie Pop (it's GF!!)
Coffee and Chocolate Brownie Pop (it's GF!!)

Steel City Pops is definitely a top stop to plan on frequenting this summer. You can't really go wrong with any of the flavors, whether it be a fruity or creamy flavor - they have you covered!
