Review The Porch - Dallas

We had a phenomenal late lunch. The service was amazing. Gina really took care of us and explained every dish well. She was spot on with flavor and taste. Didn’t steer us wrong. Hats off to the chef. The greeter at the desk was extremely nice. Made us feel like VIP folks. Nice experience!!!

I had lunch at the porch in Dallas. My server was very good. I had the smoked brisket enchilada, tres leches for desert. The corn bread was nice, moist great portion. I had the froze as my cocktail. Froze was very refreshing. The restaurant was a little noisy for my taste but oh well. All in all I would recommend it. Food was good. I loved the portion size. It was not so big of snall it was just right.

Came for dinner on a random Sunday. There was no wait luckily and the food was amazing! We have the spinach parmesan dip and a salmon burger which we were going to share. They split it for us without us asking which was lovely. All in all we only spent $36 before tip which is extremely reasonable and was plenty of food. Service was excellent and it’s very nice on the inside. Can’t wait to go back!

I absolutely loved this place. It was my first visit with the person I recently feel in love with. The food was a 10/10. It’s a really cute crack in the wall. The service was great. I’d definitely return. I also tried the strawberry crush.. it was okay but everything else was great. They offer valet parking on a tip base in the back of the restaurant.

Omg! Food was Amazing! Great service and nice atmosphere!! We’ll be back! We ordered way more food, but it was gobbled up before I had a chance to take pics. The pretzel appetizer was the best I’ve had!

The salmon and Brussels sprouts were amazing, the server Gina was attentive and on point. She knew the menu and was able to answer any and all questions. Love the vibe of the restaurant overall.

The food and service were exceptional. Gina, our server was very attentive to us and more than pleasant. She made us feel like we were at home . Everything was on point! Thank you, Gina! We certainly will be back and will tell everyone we know to come here. Also, the white and black brownie that she recommended was phenomenal!

The is so close to being a great neighborhood gem. The red snapper on the big board needs to be on the menu. It’s was fantastic. So was the spinach dip. I had 2 glasses of Pinot noir both were not to temperature. They needed to be at 55-65 and it was very warm. Also the butter cake was more like eggy & not gooey. Lately the lighting was was too bright. A little more atmosphere goes a long way.

Took a break from shopping on Knox and decided to try The Porch since it was close. It wasn’t busy for 1:30p on a Saturday and the food came out quickly. The Porch Salad with Chicken and the Crispy Chicken Cobb Salad were perfect. We ordered a classic Mojito and Mule and felt the mule could have been stronger… possibly the shot was forgotten? The Gooey Butter Cake is a must try!

Food was good, Really enjoyed the Spinach Dip App. We all had the Chicken fried Steak the flavors were good, but the steak itself was missing the salt and pepper, gravy and breading was seasoned add some seasoning to the steak and man it would have been the perfect combo. Green beans and mashed potatoes were really good.

Loved dinner here! Our server, I believe his name was Jason, was really great and all the food and drink were delicious. Would definitely come back!

Before arriving to Dallas from Toronto, someone suggested I have to try a local speciality. Chicken Fried Steak After checking out several locations I found The Porch. My Uber driver confirmed this is the place to go. At first bite i can say it’s heavenly! The batter is similar to what you get with most fried chicken recipes. Then you get hit with the flavours of a juicy steak. 😋 the gravy is unlike anything I had tried before and a great layer of flavour on an already delicious combo. The mash potatoes are a really good side. They are abit sweeter than I’m used to and surely a welcomed surprise. A side of a local Texas beer was a great beverage to compliment this meal. When it came to the staff I was greeted with a big smile and had amazing service from the moment of walking in to walking out the door. If you’ve never tried CFS , this is the place to do it! Thanks for the memorable dining experience!

This place has good food and good drinks! Wide selection of bourbon, which was a plus for me. The only bad thing was the waiter forgot part of our order and we waited and waited and waited ... until a manager came up, we told him the issue, and they gave us what was missing free of charge.

Server/bartender was Dylan. He was great. He asked and remembered my name and gave me recommendations off the menu. I ordered the brisket enchiladas, perfect Tex-Mex item. I also had an Old Fashion with bourbon. Drinks were strong, food was delicious and the food came out fast! Parking is behind the building (valet) but you can pay tip with an app (Venmo or Cash App). Unlike California the valet is complementary! I like the atmosphere. Low lighting and music wasn't too loud. The couple next to me at the bar was talking about renovations to their home. The group of girls on the other side was here for a birthday party. Crowd is young professionals. Classy place.

Nice atmosphere and location but average food. The draft beer...beer selection, in general, was poor. The food was so-so. Nothing unique or stand out. We had the tomato soup...which the waitress said was a big seller and they were known for. Except for the added cheese and some cream, it was no better than a can of Campbell's soup. The burger was ok, but not a standout. The bacon added the flavor. Bun was a little dry. nice cocktail selection.

Haven’t been to the porch in quite some time upon arrival we were sat and immediately greeted however it was to take our order I had barely sat down. Much less looked at the menu. My luncheon guest and I had barely begun chatting and were asked again if we were ready to order. The restaurant had no wait and wasn’t full. When we said we needed a moment we got an eye roll. As to not inconvenience our server another moment we both ordered burgers. There was no check back to ensure things were prepared properly. A medium ordered burger yielded a rare burger. Glasses once two thirds empty should be refilled but were ignored. My guests plate was cleared before I was finished (rude) and then the check laid by my right while still trying to enjoy my lunch. It was apparent the waitress had somewhere else to be because that’s the only thing we could surmise could be the reason for the rush. The food was meh, and the service was rushed and largely flawed. The Porch is definitely off the list for luncheon in my neighborhood. I cannot imagine that everyone is treated that way but honestly it was bad service, mediocre food and really no reason to return.

My daughter selected The Porch for her birthday dinner. It is one of her favorite restaurants. It did not disappoint! We enjoyed the crab cake salad and the prime rib sandwich (only could eat half). When we eat the chocolate tres leche cake, we were in heaven! Our waiter anticipated our every need! Exceptional eatery!

Neat atmosphere, but the service was terrible. I was there solo and sat on patio. Server took my order, brought my order and I never saw him again. Went and found another waiter and told him I needed my ticket. That other waiter had to check me out. (I was there almost an hour). Also, I must mention about the crispy chicken sandwich...not what I expected in a sandwich. It was a big piece of thigh (dark meat). It was not your typical white meat sandwich. I could only get half of it down.

We were there 9/23, about 11:30, and ate on the patio. Coffee, 2 mimosa's each, cornmeal battered fritto misto appetizer, croque madame, and The Porched grilled cheese with roasted tomato soup. The food was fine, mimosa's overpriced, service was very good. However... I messaged here about a major issue on Monday, included a photo, and despite being informed a response would be almost immediate, never heard back. The next day I did a formal post about the issue and included photos - still no response. So I posted on YELP - no response. I was bitten severely by something out on the patio. 2-1/2 days later I still cannot wear shoes; between the swelling and intense itching, shoes are impossible. My feet have 20-30 bites each and are very swollen. The bites are also up my legs, around my knees, wrists, elbows, upper arms, and even my hands. BTW you can discern the shoe straps by the bite pattern. I strongly suggest you fog, spray, do something about the patio. Multiple products and methods have been used to get these bites under control and healing, so far, nothing has worked.

Yesterday we celebrated a friend’s birthday at the last minute! We were scheduled to have a birthday dinner at another restaurant last minute but the Porch accommodated our party of 16 at the last minute. The service was fast and exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurant to family and friends for amazing customer service! The food was hot and fresh for a large party!

The food was bland, the lemoncello was elementary and tasted like artificial lemons. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful but it didn't overcome the unsatisfying food that was served. And the valet guys were totally rude and it seems to me that they were very entitled and didn't know their place in life

Was pumped to try this place but was a total let down. Our reservation on No wait somehow got deleted so had to wait for a seat. Half the wine selection on the menu wasn't available and then ordered a calamari appetizer and it was 80% fried coating with very little actual protein. The location is nice but the food and service doesn't warrant the price tag.

Been 2 times both times went without a hitch , food is nothing to out of the ordinary but always taste good and dis played nicely on the plate pricing is fair , I’ll go again .

The best meal we’ve had in 2018. Pimento Cheese Dip, Beef Rib Steognoff, Butter Cake. Wine. Great service. Amazing!!!

Excellent food and superb service. We mentioned that we were on our way to the theatre and our food arrived in five minutes! We ordered appetizers and salad instead of a main course, ate quickly, and they boxed up the rest for us to take away. Definitely going back to enjoy a more leisurely meal!

Excellent food at reasonable prices. The grilled cheese sandwich is to die for!

The service was poor at best. The food was cold and greasy. Not to mention warm beers. Now normally my wife and I lean towards the sympathetic and understanding side, but with so many negative things going on here. We had to give the Porch a horrible review!!!

Had my usual grilled cheese and tomato soup combo. It's always killer. Still is. Would have been nice if the pickles I added to my sandwich were dill pickles and not sweet pickles, but it's not a deal killer. I added bacon too. Yum!

Dallas native...love my city but The Porch was a welcome mid week lunch experience. First visit phenomenal service from being seated, to the wait staff (shout out to Dillon), and the salmon was yummy. However, I lost my mind over the "butter cake w/vanilla ice cream and a caramel" drizzle!!!
