Attention Seafood Lovers! Oceanaire Seafood Room must be on your list of upscale restaurants to try. It sits within the Westin hotel at the Galleria mall in Dallas.
The red Christmas tree-lined street sets the tone for the evening before you ever step inside.
The restaurant is very open and welcoming. I love sitting upstairs overlooking the entire space but for a Girlfriend’s Christmas dinner we sat at a cute round table on the first floor.
The food will not disappoint! I had the Chilean Sea-bass and we shared sides that included creamed corn, brussels sprouts, and truffle fries. The sea bass was perfect, sprouts were crispy and the fries were elevated!
Friends and I shared a bottle of wine; a red blend called Chateauneuf-Du-pape which was $150+. The wine was good and we expected the cost.
My only complaint is that upon making reservations I requested the grouper because previously I’d been told they don’t always carry it. When I arrived at the restaurant the staff that seated us didn’t know what grouper was and the person serving our table said grouper hadn’t been available for the 7 months he’d been employed there. This is so disappointing as the grouper is a big reason I continue to return to this restaurant.

Excellent setup, lighting, ambiance, and most importantly food. Service by waiters was 5 star. Bread and pickles/vegetables, calamari, shrimp tempura, shrimp and grits apetitizers are excellent. Surf and turf was excellent also. Chicken fried lobster is a must try! Flat bottled spring water is very pure and feels like it goes down easy.

My sweetie brought me here for a celebratory dinner... every dish we had was absolutely phenomenal! Our server, Amber, was amazing & kind, she gave us GREAT service! The rest of the service staff was extremely attentive as well, they kept our water glasses full and our table clean. I can't wait to come back!!

We dined here for our anniversary date and it was absolutely delicious. The environment is nice with low lighting, nice table cloth over the tables, and decorative very nicely. The raw bar is on display and adds a “cool” factor as you walk in. We started with a selection of different oysters which was perfect. For the main course I had seared tuna with a seaweed salad and delicious sauce. Husband had the Bass which he feels is the best he’s had. For desert we had a champagne toast. Our waiter was sweet, informative, and did a great job.
Also, the bread and pickled tray was awesome too.

I only had one drink while waiting for a friend but it was one of the best Old Fashions I've ever had. Delicious. The place was super nice. Plenty of seating in the bar area. A coat room is available but I wish there were some way to hang a purse where you sit at the bar. Service was fantastic.

Still the best seafood and service around. Hands down the best Clam Chowder around, sea bass, crab cake, hashbrowns, asparagus to top it off. A must when you are in the area.

Great food, great service 👍 Their crab cake was amazing!!

11/10. Casey’s service was so good! I was shocked to learn it was only his fourth day on the floor! He was so kind and patient. We had never been there before and asked Casey for his recommendations for dinner, wine, and dessert. everything he recommended was finger licking good. Mediterranean Branzino 10/10. Gulf of Mexico Striped Bass 10/10. Raspberry cheesecake has an oreo crust.. mannnn 10/10! Honorable mention to lobster mac and the spicy shrimp app. Thank you Casey! (deserves a raise already)

Took my wife for our anniversary dinner here. When making the reservation, there was a note section and I put “8th anniversary, if possible can there be a glass of buttery chardonnay waiting when she is seated”. Didnt expect much of it but figured hey maybe they would do it. When we got there, they had custom printed menus with “happy 8th anniversary” and some hearts printed on it and the wife was super impressed as was I. Then when we were seated, Ryan immediately poured a glass of chardonnay which my wife loved. I’m impressed at this point thinking they couldnt possibly do any better, but then Ryan the server was amazing. Everything he recommended was great, the food, drinks, etc. they kept bringing out stuff we did not order and said it was on the house…Champagne, dessert, appetizers. It was one of our best dining experiences ever and we will definitely be back. Thank you Ryan for making it such a great experience!

Super late review.
My family and I ate for for pre-Christmas lunch. We loved the food, very tasty! Service was great! Good portions!
Makayla Woolsey
We had the jumbo lump crab cocktail, oysters, the chicken fried lobster with cheesy grits covered in hot sauce and honey, the seafood salad, mixed seafood platter and seared tuna. The chicken fried lobster was outstanding and everyone should try it. The fish is flown in fresh daily. The lump crab with horseradish based dipping sauce was tasty, crab cakes were great. Other items were very good but just not as good as the aforementioned. The price was a little high for the portions provided but you get what you pay for overall.

Okay y’all. My lobster and grits was H E A V E N L Y. Angels ascended onto my pallet and I felt the hand of God on my taste buds. 🥵 The only dish that I did not agree with was the calamari. Every dish was *chefs kiss* however the calamari had fried LEMONS in it which I thought were squash but they were LEMONS. That was the only part that I truly did not agree with because I did not mentally prepare myself to eat lemon with rind included. Overall this is a perfect venue for friends celebrating birthdays! 🥂🍾 Also our waiter was incredibly attentive with us.

Food was great, atmosphere was nicer. We didn't have for long to be seated. For drinks we got the Oceaniare 2.0 (blue) and the sangria, personally prefer the sangria the Oceanaire had a bitter sweet taste to it.
For food had the shrimp and grits for appetizer as well as the seafood salad, no doubt seafood salad was the best choice. Forgot the names of the main course but the blackened fish was better.
Chelsea MacKinnon
Celebrated my niece’s 18th birthday here and the service and atmosphere were both phenomenal! They printed KK’s name directly on the menu and made her feel so special! The ladies loved their food choices and the Clam Chowder were to die for! I had the Ecuadorean Mahi Mahi and it was a bit dry. Other than that, everyone enjoyed the heck out of their meals and it was the start of a great night!
Lydia Bishop
I had very delicious food on my first visit. Service is great and waiters are pleasant and professional. On my second visit, the appetizers we ordered were disappointing but I would go back again.
Cathy Brower
Excellent! Jay and I we celebrating our anniversary and the made special menus for us. The seafood tower is exquisite! We had it with oysters and shrimp cocktail. I had the lobster trio, which is a chopped lobster salad, lobster risotto, and Dijon lobster. Jay had the seared scallops and lobster mac! Dancing Hares wine and the best wild blueberry cheesecake. The greatest staff. A delicious and wonderful evening

We went for dollar oysters on A Sunday. The bar was fairly full, so we sat toward the near end which had a narrow ledge backed by a glass payne beyond which was an iced display of seafood. Beyond that were the servers doing their thing. Stupid design and uncomfortable seating. The service was prompt and courteous. The oysters were house choice, and not to my liking. Malpeque and Even Blue Points would have been better. The condiments were very generic. There was no horseradish at all. The whole experience felt a bit second rate. I really think I would have enjoyed it had we had our choice of oysters.

This restaurant is phenomenal every time I go. Was there for a family celebration, they even juggled to change our reservation last minute to allow another person, even though they were fully booked. My Texas redfish with Dynamite accompaniment was perfectly cooked and flavorful. My son's king crab legs were expensive, but the sweetest and most tender he'd ever had. Others at the table had a whole fried Texas red snapper-- the presentation was awesome ad the flavor even better. Sides are to share, and all delicious. Great oysters on the half shell too. Service was attentive, but not intrusive, and our waitress was very knowledgeable. Hope to have a chance to return soon.

We wanted to give this place a shot. We had an itch for seafood. We had excellent service & great food. The food was delicious! It was a little pricey but it was worth it in our opinion. We will definitely be going back when we're having that seafood itch again.
Cecilia Rodriguez
The food was good. The beef tenderloin tips were succulent. The baked Alaska was just as good. The only thing that kind of ruined the mood was when our waiter spilled our bottle of wine on our table. 😕 We did not get compensated for his mistake. 😡
Ruthie Vargas
Big thanks to Warren and his suggestions. My red fish was to die for! Drinks were on point. We will be back!
Jaden Berry
The food is amazing. Their chicken fried lobster is the best lobster I have ever had, hands down! And the service is, of course, excellent.
Sam Holmes
Check the check. On my most recent visit I received an email from Landry's promoting $1 chef select oysters at the bar open-close along with a Halloween Dinner for two. I even mentioned the promotion to the Bartender and showed him the promotion before ordering. Still was charged $21 for a half dozen and had to send the check back to be corrected. This was my fifth visit and the fifth time I had to have my bill corrected. Not sure at this point whether it's a matter of competence or scruples.
The food was great, aside from a couple of bones(!) my wife found in her salmon, and the ambiance is impeccable, but if you're not paying attention, you're likely to be over charged.
Dana Cofer
I always enjoy Oceanaire I've been a few times! It was her birthday they created a personal menu ( very cute) , great waitress, the food was good... I will continue to go there... Only advice add Salmon
Francine Boerner
Wonderful staff and even more excellent coordinator ... Ask for Stephanie, gumbo, Angry Salmon and peanut butter bars ended up tasting very addicting!!! Everyone needs this as a regular
Stan Mannis
Great ambiance, great service, even better food! Highly recommend!

Our new favorite restaurant! A fantastic experience, top to bottom. And if you're lucky, you'll get seated with Warren, who was just the best. We'll be back as soon as we can!
Johnnene Addison-Gay
The service was very nice; some more personable than others but overall, very attentive. Fried lobster, wasn't my best choice in foods. Though different and tasty, I think I prefer my lobster come directly out of the shell into my mouth and not breaded then fried. The desserts (we tried both the chocolate caramel cake as well as the blueberry-white chocolate bread pudding) were good. Large portions that we were able to bring home and share with our teenage sons. The Wait time between each entree was daunting as well.
Scott MacPhee
Good but not great for the price. The seafood was reasonable, the drinks were acceptable, the atmosphere upscale. We perhaps might return, but not any time soon. Too many other choices.
Todd
If you consider yourself a member of the Idle Rich then you will absolutely love paying $48 for a dozen raw oysters that are the size of a quarter.

What a miserable experience.
Neil McGinnis
I come for the appetizers. Crab Cakes 4/5 (good but nothing special)
Oysters 4/5 (very good but i have had better)
Clam Chowder 5/5
Escargots Burguignonne 5/5 (maybe best escargot in DFW)
Oysters Rockefeller 5/5 (maybe best in DFW)
Fried Asparagus 5/5
Atmosphere 4/5 (a little conservative for my taste)
Service 5/5
Value 3/5 (many items are overpriced)
Elissa McCracken
I'm not happy with the way this restaurant is managed. It took 15 minutes for our waiter to greet our table, it took another 20 minutes to order wine, the food was average and we could never find our waiter. This may be harsh but not good service for me.
AG
Great quality fresh seafood and customer service. Ask for Nate, he won't steer you wrong!
Shannon Bogan
Stay away from this place. My steak was overcooked to the point of no return. Then after the waiter forgot the addition of my Oscar topping, he proceeded to bring it out "on the side" on a plate that was too hot to touch with no warning. Overpriced to say the least. I don't mind spending $200 for dinner as long as it's worth the money. Check out Truluck's instead.
Joshua Franks
The Oceanaire was a very nice place. No complaints about the food or atmosphere. My wife and I stopped in for a night cap and small snack before returning to our hotel room upstairs. We had already had dinner earlier that evening at Benihanas. So we both ordered a couple of drinks and she had a cup of clam chowder as I had a bowl of the same. Our waiter (bobby...name on reciept) was friendly at first but after he realized we weren't there to spend lots of money he became very rude and sarcastic. We overheard him talking to other waitstaff about how much we spent and how we shouldn't have waisted his time. We asked for the dessert menu but didnt really feel like eating such a huge portion...he snatched the menu away and mumbled something as he walked off. Did we break some sort of rule? Are we not allowed to eat what we want? We were promptly seated and other wait staff were very courteous. Hats off to the Oceanaire...thumbs down to Bobby. I should have complained to management about his rudeness.
Jason
This is our second time to eat here this month, and this time was just as good as the last. Service and food were both as good as it gets. In my opinion, this is the best seafood in Dallas, bar none. Items not to be missed: appetizers-raw oysters, shrimp & grits; entrees-scallops, lobster thermadore; and dessert-baked Alaska.

Freshest seafood in Dallas!. The food and wait staff here are wonderful!
Tech Alumnae
Yum!. Got engaged here, and wait staff was great. Good steak as well for those that don't like seafood (my hubby!)
Greaton Pickwick
Absolutely fabulous seafood. Fresh oysters and the cold water lobster tail were fantastic. Great atmosphere!
Foodie33
Always a favorite on date night. Great atmosphere and selection. Starters are delicious - beautiful salads, crab cakes and soups. I love the stuffed sole, although it was a little too buttery last time. My brother enjoys the oysters, but I don't care for them in general. Try it out!
Laney
Crab Cakes. The crab cakes are to die for! Next time, that will be my entire meal.
Mariana
Just ok!! Halibut was dry flavorless , food took about 45 minutes , no wonder .... The worst Bellini I ever had ... I am not from Dallas and I find that the city has much better places for seafood

The Oceanaire, Fresh Fish... But be ready for Stormy Seas. Ah, the Oceanaire! The supposed beacon of fresh fish in a sea of steak. The Dallas Oceanaire sounds like the kind of place you can get a great piece of fish in an upscale atmosphere. This on the surface is true. The fish and other ocean fare is indeed quite fresh. The selection is unmatched in the DFW area. That I will not debate. My portion of Black and Bleu Mahi Mahi was scrumtuous. The crabcake appetizer my wife had was delicious. My selection of east coast oysters were beyond fresh, and accompanied with a miniere, and cocktail duo. The Lighthouse fades into the distance from this point. We were out child free on an anniversary date. I was warned that this was not the most romantic place in town. I was ok with that. I did not realize that we were to be surrounded by flash bulbs, young children, and believe it or not scantilly clad possibly paid (wink) women. It was a virtual buffet for my attention deficit disorder!! Good and bad, considering I couldn't process one word my spouse was speaking to me about. There were breaking dishes and glasses multiple times right near us. A lovely family, that snapped flash bulb after flash bulb, with a two year old little girl that ran wild. The menu is done daily, and must be a nightmare to prepare with all of the selection. My side items served al a carte were hit and miss. I had the brushell sprout leaves with smoked bacon, they were not bad. The green pea risotto however was horrid. The risotto was very under cooked, and I sent it back. Well enough rambling (A.D.D remember). Overall this place was pretty good. I will dine there again, and probably stick to the oysters and other raw, or steamed seafood. Happy dining DFW.

Oceanaire - Galleria, Dallas. Oceanaire has the freshest seafood in Dallas, flavorfully prepared by an excellent team of top-notch chefs.

They have a rather extensive offering of fish, oysters, and other seafood. They're usually the first restaurant in the metroplex to get Alaskan King Crab when it is in season.

If you've ever been to anywhere from Cape Cod on up or Seattle on up, then you know the difference between seafood that is fresh and seafood that is not. It's hard to find it any fresher than here, locally.

The lunch crowd is usually the corporate business type. Dinner usually has couples, groups of adults, and more business types.

When I can't make it to Seattle, I come here for king crab. I haven't been as often as I would like, but the food has always been very good here - even the side dishes. If I were an oyster person, this place would be heaven.

They have a $7 bowl of clam chowder that I never could reach the bottom of and that (plus a generous portion of complementary food) would sometimes make up my entire lunch.
Matt McCreary
Unbelievable. Oceanaire is uber-tasty and has an incredible decor! A great food experience and great dining atmosphere.

Great Food! Great Service!. My husband and I dined at The Oceanaire last Saturday night. The food and service was excellent! Our waiter was very professional and the crab cakes were to die for. We will return soon. This restaurant is a must try.

Ocean View. It's been more than 2 years since I last ate here, but that one trip has not left my mind based on the richness of the food and the immaculate treatment poured on the customers at this fine establishment.

I had the Lou de Mer aka Sea Bass, and it melted in my mouth, literally. Best fish eating experience ever...and your talking to someone that fishes and eats lots of fish. Truly breathtaking experience.
Jose
Not so great. The place is very nice. The food wasn't as good. The bread was hard, we had to chew on it for sometime. The waiter was to busy doing something else. although there wasnt many people. Over priced for two plates, two drink, an desert came out to be $97.00. was it worth it?? nope. not going there again
Barrett
Salads are terrible for such a nice restaurant. Crab cakes are $16 per crab cake but they are delicious.

Fresh Seafood flown in daily.... Arctic Char, Red Snapper, Halibut T bone - the list goes on & on. Flown in fresh daily! And they have an Oyster Bar!!! (is there another in Dallas? someone let me know...) They have an amazing item called the Grand Shellfish Platter - it's this huge Ice Mound with all sorts of shellfish sticking out of it. I was absolutely beside myself! The Wine List Alone is worth going. The side dishes are served family style and are a meal in themselves. Impeccable friendly service (not stuffy-just very accommodating.) Centrally located at the Galleria in the Westin. Take your credit card, tho - this place is not cheap, but worth every penny.
Jim S
The best seafood in Dallas. Great service and worth the money. All food is very fresh.

Worst dining experience in Dallas. My husband and I recently ate at the Oceanair for a special night out. We have been to the one in Indianapolis, which we highly recommend that location, so we were expecting similar service. What we encountered was the worst night of service we have received anywhere. The food was ok, but not as good as our previous experience (and we ordered the same meal). The price was overrated for what we received. To start the night we arrived for our reservation only to wait an hour for a table. During that time we saw several people arrive after us and seated right away. We wouldn't have been as frustrated if we didn't have a reservation already made, and these people had later reservations than we did. Our waitor was nice, but slow. What should have been a dining experience that we were expecting to last at most 1.5 hours, ended up being a three hour ordeal and caused us to miss plans we had made for later in the evening. We will never again go to the Dallas location.
DFW Diner
Been great until this last time. Every time we have dined here, it's been wonderful, until this last time...Our food took over 45 mins, 3 people in our group received their dinner cold, and it wasn't even busy. Our server did not give us the attention we expected, not checking on us but one time. Things just weren't the same. I'm sure we'll give it another try but we left very disappointed.
Rob McClellan
Dining Options. When I went we all had the same dish because the options were not that much. Food quality was excellent but selection was limited.
Feed Me
The Crab Cake at The Oceanaire. You know how a lot of times you get a crab cake that is full of bread crumbs and lots of other indistinguishable ingredients. Well, you will NOT find that here. This crab cake is made of big chunks of lump crab meat, cooked to perfection. Squeeze a little lemon on it, dip it in a little creamy mustard mayo and watch it fall apart as you eat it—because that is how crab cake is supposed look, taste and act.
Louise Siebert
We have been to Oceanaire many times as the seafood (in my opinion) is some of the best and freshest in Dallas. However we haven't been since they got bought out by Landrys so i went with baited breath hoping it hadn't brought about changes for the worst.
