Review La Maria Mexican Restaurant - Cypress

Went here on a Thursday evening. Wasn't crazy busy and service was pretty prompt. There's a pretty large menu. Maybe slightly more expensive than like a taqueria Aransas type place. Food came out hot and tasted good. Never had to ask for a drink refill. Employees were nice to our kids and they had a few TVs in the place. Only negative really was the bathroom. Flies in there, no paper towels, and kind of small for the size of restaurant.

Food was excellent service was great I had spinach enchiladas my wife had cheese enchiladas and my son had suiza enchiladas and my sister inlaw had half order of nachos tou won't be disappointed with this place take a chance and tray this place out support you local restaurants........ tell them papi sent you

It's an okay place. Wait was not too long staff was friendly prices are reasonable. Only thing is that it's not a MEXICAN restaurant but a Tex Mex restaurant.

Considering the prices, and their proximity to a Kroger with plenty of fresh food you'd think you'd have something pretty nice here, but no, the food tastes as cheap as it looks. The large queso bowl was the size of a small at most other restaurants, didn't even have chili peppers in the cheese, just some jalapeno slices on the side. Wasn't awful but you can get more bang for your buck at any other place. I got a "cheese puff" that was just a small upside down tortilla shell with a spoonful of queso on top. The shell itself was identical to the one my taco was served in. Nothing on the inside. Not even remotely "puffed" by any stretch of the definition so I felt pretty deceived. I complained to the waiter and he insisted what was on my plate was what a cheese puff was supposed to be, and honestly I'm more upset he had the gal to say that than anything. Enchiladas just tasted... off. I can't really describe it but it just did not taste good at all. Almost like they used stale or spoiled ingredients? That's what it tasted like at least, I took one bite and had enough. I have no idea where all these good reviews are coming from, because on a Friday night this place was absolutely dead and my friends and family have been telling me that I shouldn't have gone. Pretty sure we watched someone dine and dash while we were there, and while I do not condone stealing food, I can hardly blame the person considering the prices and quality of the food for not wanting to pay for it. I'm really not one to write bad reviews, and I always try to be understanding of a bad day or something at a restaurant having worked in food service myself, but this place obviously has issues with charging too much for too little and not using fresh ingredients. They're cheaping out on the food despite what they're charging and it shows. Just bad, 2/10.

Fast, friendly service. Always checking to see if we needed refills or any problems with food. Had the Acapulco which is a beef taco, two cheese enchiladas, a beef tamale, rice and beans, and a small guacamole salad. Everything was good and tasty. Usually don't eat the rice but this was way better than most.

One of our favorite family spots. Service is fast, wait staff is always friendly. Food is always good.

First visit for myself, my son had been there once before. I was pleasantly surprised, service was fast and friendly & the food was superb!! I'm a bit tough on Mexican restaurants because there are so many around and most tend to blend together with the same menus & flavors. La Maria is an exception. From the salsa to the food La Maria has a flavor all it's own & I can't wait to eat there again!! Thank you La Maria.

Good quiet corner spot for a late lunch. Quick and friendly service. Recommend the Enchiladas suizas! I'll be back to try their other dishes.

There was a bug � in my food. we were not offered a satisfactory compensation. Me: yes sir there is a bug in my food Mgr: oh I am sorry let me check it out it looks like a food fly. Would you like me to get you anything else? Me: no sir I am done. Mgr: okay let me check it! Waitress: are you ready for your check? My hubby: yes we are Waitress: brings check thank you My hubby: looks at check tells me we will never be back (I already knew this) I can’t believe the only thing they did was remove your meal! Me: wow � that’s all. We paid and left never to return again

Best Mexican restaurant in Cypress to go to. Prices are reasonable & food is great! I love their frozen margaritas & pina coladas! We have been going there for years & still go every week! This place is never too loud inside when you want to hear each other. We are never disappointed!

This was our 1st time here. Food was good. Margarita as we're good. Waiter was on point!

The people here make me feel like family. They love what they do and they care about customers. They will do whatever to make it a great meal. Oh, and by the way it's the best red salsa in Texas and the food is always great �

Love their tortilla chips and the top shelf margarita is awesome!

They always have the best cheese enchiladas and I used the Xochimilco dinner from years. Now I go fore the Acapulco whenever I'm in town.

Honestly one of the best places to eat. Not only is the food excellent but staff is very friendly and makes you feel right at home. Their salsa is one one of the best I've had since I've lived in Cypress the last 3 years:
