Review Cafe Hiro - Cypress

I'm not kidding when I say this place is extremely good. Like very very good. It's a Italian Japanese fusion restaurant with a Vibe that takes you away to another place once you walk in. The restaurant is decorated throughout and painted on the ceiling to give a calming and serene feeling. It's one of those restaurants where you can tell that the chef in the back truly cares about the food they're putting out. Would I recommend it? Yes. Would I go again? Yes. Would I order the exact same things? Hell yes. Should you take your baby mama and all your friends? Definitely.

Absolutely incredible, literally stunningly good food served in a wonderfully relaxed European home-kitchen type atmosphere. Photo shows salmon and mushroom risotto and uni spaghetti, with a pork bun on each of our plates. The risotto defies description, the sweetest, almost candied, fish paired with rich and creamy umami mushroom sauce. And if you like that combination, get the bread pudding and leave a big tip.

This place is so good! The food is very delicious. We ordered the scallop risotto and steak. Both came with a side salad. The scallops are juicy and fresh. We also ordered the walnut crème brulee, which was not too sweet and 100% tasty.

My BFF who is also a foodie introduced me to this establishment 12 years ago (when the sautéed mushroom salad was still an off menu item), and the quality of food here has remained excellent consistently throughout the years! The waitresses are always polite & super helpful, & we always have a hard time deciding between just ordering a bunch of appetizer as the meal, or getting our old favorite entrees. Always a great time. Reservation recommended since it's a small place & always fill up quickly around dinner time. Update 6/27/23: Came back tonight to celebrate BFF's bday. Food & service is still consistently excellent 👌

I’ve coming here forever and I have always enjoyed the food. I try to change it up or get something new each time I go to keep it fresh. Of course the Uni pasta is delicious! All their salads are good too. I really like the last time we went we had this medley of mushroom salad that was super dope! Today we had a tempura fried shrimp salad that was perfect. The shrimp was lightly battered and fried with a very light dressing. I had a seared and crusted ahi tuna with eggplant and bokchoy that was excellent! See the picture below. We always have the walnut crème brulet to finish it off. It’s probably best to make reservations on the weekend. The staff are really nice and make the whole experience wonderful.

This place is a hidden gem right here in the City of Cypress! French-Asian fusion is the theme and the food is outstanding! Highly recommend the Uni Pasta, Carbonara, Sauteed Chicken and the BBQ Beef Salad you won't be disappointed!

The food was great, the atmosphere was nice and cozy, a bit small but that what great about it, it a hidden gem for Japanese and Italian fusion. The Peking pork was great my little cousin ate 3. The chicken curry curry was delicious, got the mild one and it was delicious. The appetizers were great got the beef tataki and some salad with cheese mango and baby tomatoes.

A well-known Japanese fusion restaurant that continues to provide great twists on Italian classics. I will say this restaurant is not for everyone. If you like your Italian food rich and salty, or your portions large and family style, this will not be what you're looking for. Their plates are on the smaller and some might even say simpler side, but it continues to be popular with a decent wait if you don't show up at their opening hours. Thankfully they do take reservations.

Great food and service. My friend, my husband and I went here for dinner. My sister and my old friend both recommended this place. I really like the Osso Bucco while the seafood pasta was too much tomato. I really don't like too much spaghetti and so I ate all the seafood and left most of the pasta. The waitress was concerned and asked if I like the food. I thought that was very nice of her - she sounded friendly and genuine. I am not sure if I will come back since there are so many great restaurants in the OC and Cafe Hiro was great but not spectacular, but I will certainly recommend it to other people.
