4 stars for being in Cuero, choices outside of fast food are quite scarce. I have visited 2x, had the double steak burger both times. The taste is not memorable, it could use some additional seasoning to make it pop. Quality of the meat appears to be good, but flavor is a definite undertone and not a belly-dancer kind of showstopper. The presentation is well done, it preps the taste buds for nirvana and leaves you in the lobby. The card, though is quite sexy.

We went with a group. After taking everyone's order they came back and said they were out of certain products, so we reordered. When the food came out almost an hour later they gave our steak to another guest and claimed it wasn't their fault. After almost TWO HOURS they tried to give the steak they were charging us for. After the embarrassment of sitting through an evening with friends without our order, we declined to take the steak nor would we be paying for it. Poor Service, Mediocre Food, Outrageous Prices. I can't recommend this place.

I have dined at this restaurant previously. The food has always been decent, considering the options in a small town. (Fast food).
Tonight we ordered a appetizer salad and a dinner plate, [grilled shrimp]. When I got home the 30.00 shrimp platter had fried shrimp and approximately 1/2 oz of broccoli.
I called the restaurant and graciously explained the mistake and requested I bring back the 30.00 fried shrimp platter and exchange it for what I ordered. I was given a to go box with nothing but a portion of grilled shrimp and had to scoop the 1/2 oz of old broccoli out of previous plate. You would think after paying the outrageous price for subpar food, the least they could do was come off another 1/2 oz of broccoli. Shameful!!

Cuero is a small Texas oil town, so I was expecting a Texas Roadhouse style steakhouse when I went here yesterday. I was quite surprised to find it was much fancier. I immediately felt out of place when entering as I noticed everyone wearing formal attire. My daughter and I had just come from the playground, so I was wearing shorts and a tee, and my daughter had sand in her hair and looked loke she was auditioning for the lead role in "Lord of the Flies." Regardless of our appearance, we were greeted with a smile and seated immediately by a friendly host. I was glad I didn't bring my entire family. The menu isn't child friendly and we would have had to walk home if I had brought all my kids because I would have had to just sign over my car title to pay the bill. Since it was just my daughter and I, we did okay though. I ordered her the cheeseburger and fries, and I had a shrimp salad. Both meals were delicious (I tried a bit of the cheeseburger too). I would definitely come here again, but probably just with my wife....and next time I'll most likely at least wear pants.

We had an awesome experience here. The restaurant was uncrowded, the wait staff was very friendly, and the New York strip was delicious. The portions were large, both the said and the potatoes being sharable and the meat was seared properly and cooked exactly as we ordered it

What a wonderful steakhouse in Cuero! Our Prime Rib was perfectly Medium Rare. The crab cake appetizer was as delicate as it was sweet crab meat deliciousness. Service was outstanding. Whoever is in charge of this little gem certainly know what the heck they’re doing! Thank You!

I love the atmosphere, service and food. All are top notch. Quality food and friendly. If something isn't right ( rarely) they will make it right and do whatever is necessary to accommodate you. Love the live music that starts every spring. Shorts are acceptable attire. A nice relaxing and enjoyable experience.

Crystal Gomez is doing things in Cuero that we can’t even find in the big cities. There is no premade frozen chicken fried steak folks; she trims cuts pounds and hand breads a huge CFD that looks like steak in a wonderful breading with incredible gravy.
But let me get to the reason that they use cloth napkins and real tablecloth’s and attentive waiters. This place has some of the best seafood around anywhere. Super light breading on the fried shrimp that lets the shrimp flavor come through. The mac & cheese, oh my!, well you just gotta try it. The red snapper oh my goodness the snapper is a huge thick piece of fish that taste like snapper and then is covered in a sauce that you just need a spoon for And included grilled shrimp!! Truly some of the best seafood I’ve ever had. Oh and don’t forget the crab dip. We also had the wedge salad which is why we were just too full to even think about desserts. But next time!
