I went here for dinner with my parents and a friend of theirs on a Saturday evening. I will have to say, the quality of the food was great. The service was attentive yet not obtrusive. Portions were of adequate size other than the strip, it was massive. I would absolutely reccomend this place for an awesome meal and service. Be prepared to pay though, as it's not cheap, you get what you pay for in a dining experience.

Love this place. Never had a bad meal for very reasonable price. Seafood specials based on the season are always a hit. Nice quiet restaurant with good wine selection. Service is hit or miss.

I had the she crab soup which was thick and creamy which is what you want in a she-crab soup. I would rate this definitely at 9 out of 10 since I had to add pepper my husband ordered the fish dip in which they used king fish. They also added red onions and capers as a garnish. I would also read this is a nine out of ten I know I'm nitpicking but I would have pickled the onions. Since we ordered the appetizers we decided to split The Market Fish which was parmesan crusted amberjack fish with a Wasabi type aioli sauce. The sides were a risotto and a potato dish, chefs choice. Overall everything was really good. 7/10.
My husband thought that the sauce didn't go well with the fish, I thought that the parmesan crust was maybe a little much.
The risotto and potato dishes were good but didn't blow my socks off.

This was a very pleasant surprise in a small town, even if it is a tourist location. We visited here based on some reviews and were not disappointed in the least. The portions were way more than we could finish. The food was fresh, the sauces were rich and creamy, and the staff was very efficient. I had the shrimp and grits, my husband the Mac and Cheese. The names of the dishes are misleading as both were very much gourmet selections. Great food!

I had been on a week long vacation to Key Largo with a great group of people. We stopped in to Crystal River, Florida to swim with the manatees. This was our final night on our journey, and we wanted to try somewhere a little more upscale and memorable for our final night together.

We showed up with no reservations, and the restaurant was booked solid. When they discovered we were from out of town and that we had a large group, they offered us a seat in the wine cellar where they sometimes place larger parties. We cordially accepted the invitation.

Ten minutes later, we were led to a building beside the main restaurant. We were led inside to the wine cellar, and the lady leading us was teaching us the history of the restaurant(which used to be a church) as she led us in. Wine and music surrounded us as we were sat down. It was a bit chilly, and without having to ask twice our waiter turned up the temperature for us. Not much time later, we all had a glass of Pinot Grigio and were swapping stories. The Pinot Grigio was cold and had a very mild flavor. It worked as a great pallet cleanser before the appetizers arrived.

For an appetizer we ordered a couple orders of the pork belly. Now, I'd never had pork belly. That was a treat. It came out in little blocks with a glaze on them. It reminded me very much of a fatty pork tenderloin, and the glaze had a sweet chili flavor to it. There was a sauce comprised of Siracha, garlic, cumin and paprika that made an excellent edition. It was fantastic. It also came on a bed of cabbage that had been seasoned and sauteed in sesame seed oil. It added great contrast to the pork, and the sesame seed oil was a nice break from the salty flavor of the pork. I highly recommend giving this a try.

All of us ordered a soup, either tomato basil or She Crab. I had the chance to try both. The tomato basil was somewhat sweet, well seasoned, and tasty. It also tasted like it may have had some mozzarella in it. It reminded me a lot of pizza soup. (I'm a big fan of pizza, so I'm alright with that.) The she crab soup seemed to be a white wine and crab soup. It was fairly sweet, and had a strong crab flavor. The crab was stringy instead of chunky, but I didn't mind this much. Of the two, I preferred the tomato basil, but seafood lovers might enjoy the She Crab soup a lot.

With dinner we had a Riesling, which was surprisingly sweet and smooth. I had never tried a Riesling, and this was recommended by the waiter, so why not? I was pleasantly surprised. My dinner entree was the "Maple Leaf Farms" Duck Breast. Today, the sauce they were topping it with was a pitaya(dragon fruit) puree, served with risotto. The portions felt a little small, but given that we had an appetizer and were going to have dessert, I think the portion sizes were acceptable.

My first bite was of the risotto, and oh my goodness can they make it well. It was creamy, with sun dried tomato and spinach. It had the perfect combination of salted creamy sauce with the occasional pop of sweet from the tomatoes. The risotto was cooked to perfect, both firm and soft to the bite. I find that a lot of places under cook or under cook rice, but this was not the case with a single grain.

The duck itself was warm, tender, juicy, and delicious. Instead of over-seasoning the duck, they cooked it naturally and let the natural flavor of the meat be the showpiece. The pitaya sauce was sweet and willingly stuck to the meat if desired. Together, the two formed a wonderful flavor combination that was very satisfying.

It was time for dessert. I noticed on the menu that every day the chef makes a chocolate dish to feature. I'm a large fan of chocolate, so this was tempting. So naturally, for dessert, I ordered the chef's chocolate feature. It was a flourless chocolate cake with walnuts. It was moist, rich, and sweet. I've had a few flourless chocolate cakes in my day, and this one definitely reached the top of my list.

When dinner was done, I felt full but not stuffed. In my opinion, that's the sign of portions well done. The waiter took pictures of our group upon request during and after dinner, and now we all have photos and a memory that will last a lifetime.

I highly recommend making reservations and visiting Vintage on 5th if you stop by Crystal River, Florida with a group of friends or a loved one. Not just for the cold wine, or the delicious food, or the atmosphere drenched with history. But for the southern hospitality, and the exceptional service of the staff. Your visit will be one that you won't regret.

Fantastic dinner. Our waiter, Michael, was awesome. We had the honey mustard rack of lamb and Chilean sea bass in buerre blanc, sun-dried tomato risotto and (not your average) key lime pie. Wine selection is strong and very modestly (refreshingly so) marked-up. We paid just $52 for an average retail of $34! Highly recommend. A great find in the wilderness of NW Florida gulf coast.

Cute place and a great concept, but the food is mediocre. I liked it ok but it was nothing special & overpriced because it didn't live up to it.

From head to toe.. AMAZING!. I created an urban spoon account just to review this amazing restaurant. My girlfriend and I made a reservation (good luck getting in without one!) For 8 p.m. and arrived around 5 minutes early. It took a little time to actually seat us, but we were given seats at the bar until our table was ready. When our rable was ready, we sat and ordered the Carribbean Jerk Shrimp which was to die for, and I ttpically hate seafood. When we ordered a bottle of wine before our meal, our server, Michael, suggested a 2011 Meiomi Pinot Noir and gave us a sample. Both of us were immediately sold after sampling the wine. Michael also suggested the Pork Chop and cheese grits for my girlfriend and suggested having my Veal Chop cooked medium. He was spot on. The mashed potato side that I ordered with my veal chop was to die for as well. We finished the meal off with creme brulee. Everything was absolutely FANTASTIC and Michael did a phenominal job serving us. The next time we are in Crystal River for vacation, we will definitely be back!

We were visiting in the area and decided to try this restaurant. We called for reservations but the restaurant was booked. They suggested we come to the wine bar which is seated on a first come basis. We really wanted to try this restaurant so we decided to go over knowing we might have to wait. We checked with the hostess when we arrived. She said someone had failed to show up for their reservation and she would try to call to see if they were on their way. We walked to the bar and she came over and told us we could have the table. We really appreciated her effort. The atmosphere is wonderful and the food absolutely delicious. Everything is cooked to order so don't be in a hurry. The wait is worth it. The best meal we have had in a long time. My husband loved the shrimp and grits. I had She Crab soup and sautéed seafood in a garlic lemon butter sauce over linguine. So so so fresh and good. We then shared creme brûlée. I can not say enough good things about our meal. Everyone there worked hard to make sure you have a great dining experience. Cindy was friendly, efficient, and absolutely delightful!

Road Trip Stop.. I love road trips whether it is for fun or a purpose. We get to try places away from home.
Vintage On 5th was a great stop for dinner and a place where friends took us to visit when in Crystal river. There’s not a lot in Crystal River and a find like this is worth remembering.

We started with Truffle Fries and Smoked Fish Dip and shared them. It was a debate over which we both liked better, But that wasn’t the best, which was yet to come.

We both had the Grilled Shrimp Salad and by now, we were getting full. The portions are generous and are so good tasting that you don’t want to leave anything to waste.

I had the Angus Beef Tenderloin and she had the Angus Ribeye. Both were cooked to order and they were cooked right when served. Both were good but both needed a little salt to enhance the flavor of the meat. That’s no big deal and a mostly personal preference. The veggie garnish was not all that exciting and instead of filling up with that we left it for the sea gulls. Not that it was bad, but it was a non-essential to the main course. The sides we had were unremarkable. Just get what they offer or you want when you are there.

Dessert was good. I don’t think the home-made Key Lime Pie was made with real, fresh Key Limes. It was very good and I’d say to order it, but I just don’t think it’s the real deal when it came to the limes. Favor just wasn’t right. If it was real Key Lime, then something else in the making of the filling caused the taste to be off.

The carrot cake was very good with the cream cheese frosting. The carrot cake was good and the frosting was their variation of the cream cheese style of frosting. When restaurants make their own, every recipe is both different and unique. This was good and remarkable but was their version amongst many other versions.

Before we arrived at the restaurant, we were told of that 18% gratuity stuff. I don’t play that game. So what if 6 or more people sit at one table. The restaurant is still getting six orders. To “demand” an 18% tip is wrong because if the service is lousy, I’m not going to be forced into paying over the 15% that I pay. This is about the server and the service provided. I’ll over tip well if the person is really making an effort and doing their server work well. But that demand is wrong. Therefore, we sat at separate tables, next to one-another and avoided that gratuity stuff. We could still converse with no problem as we were close.

Great place, good interior atmosphere and clean. Prices vary where everyone can find something within their price range.

Absolutely outstanding!. We dined at this wonderful restaurant tonight, as we do each year when we are in the area on vacation. The food was superb and the service outstanding. The owner is so attentive and gracious-goes out of his way to make sure that your dining experience is all that it should be. The waitstaff and all of the personnel went out of their way to ensure that my friend had a memorable birthday dinner-it could not have been nicer. Everything that we ordered for dinner (rack of lamb, grouper, fillet mignon was over-the-top in the way it was prepared and presented. What a wonderful place to go for dinner, anytime!

All around great experience. I visited this restaurant while taking a weekend retreat in crystal river. It was my wides choice and she did well. The restaurant is in an old church but I did not see any evidence of this on our visit. The atmosphere was great. The food was great. And the service was great. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone. I had the shrimp and grits which were ( you. Guessed it) great. My wife had the Mac and cheese which was good but just did not compare to the shrimp and grits. I saw a review that was negative and the only comPlaint was that the table was wobbly. I say deal with it. Don't let that scare you away from this gem.

Beautiful dining room andwonderful food with excellent service that is not over serviced. Probably the only A-rated restaurant in the area that consistently has A-rated standards. A well rounded menu selection that has something to offer for all palates, including the pickiest eaters. This is a place to enjoy the setting, service and food. Don't be in any hurry and you will be graciously recorded.

Vintage on 5th is located in downtown Crystal River. Not exactly a metropolis, so calling it downtown is a stretch. It is located on – you guessed it 5th Street! The downtown area of Crystal River is probably about three-square blocks and easily navigated by foot. The restaurant is impressive from the street in that it is located in a renovated church, which was built in 1940. Locating a restaurant in a historical building in most cases is a good

What a cozy restaurant to share with your friends and family. I can't wait to take my mom here! Honestly, the service was wonderful and even though they were very busy, they were very attentive! All staff members wore masks and made sure to sanitize previously used areas. They have a great selection of wines and delicious food options, of which include a lot of locally-based items. They have a distinct way of making you feel like you're right at home while simultaneously acknowledging they're high-end appeal.

My husband has been here before but this was my first time. He says it was better when he came in on a week night. There are vegetarian/vegan options which tasted good, not what I hoping for with the cost. My parents ordered the veal and steak and both tasted great. My son ordered the rack of lamb and devoured it so it must have tasted really good. The service is great and I loved the atmosphere. I’ll go again.

The food and service at Vintage on 5th is outstanding! My wife and I were well treated and the meals we ordered were delicious. My wife had the shrimp and grits and I ordered the sea bass - wow! I tried both and the shrimp and grits is a must! Also for the salad dressing, make sure to get the balsamic and Gorgonzola … simply amazing! The sea bass was cooked perfectly and went well with the mashed potatoes. You’ve gotta try this place.

My husband and I celebrated our 22 year anniversary here. It was absolutely delicious. From the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out, the service was outstanding. My husband had the tenderloin and I had the pan seared sea bass, shrimp cocktail for appetizer, carrot cake and coffee for dessert. We will be back for sure! Our waitress Lauren was outstanding!

Absolutely excellent. My husband and I had veal chop. It was cooked to perfection. Had soup, salad, veal chops and a sundae for dessert. Our waiter was Mike. One of the best or the best 5 star restaurants around. Highly recommend it. We also had excellent wine.
