Crozet Pizza

I haven't been here in about 10 years. I happened to be in Crozet and had to stop for a pizza to go. I placed my order and waited at the bar for 50 minutes. I had a glass of wine at the bar and a salad while I waited. Both were just okay. I wasn't asked what kind of dressing I wanted. I was just served the salad with a side of a raspberry vinaigrette. I wanted some salt and pepper but never could get the bartenders attention. There were two other couples waiting for to go orders too. All three of us had to ask the bartender to check on our orders. The service was mediocre at best. When I got home with the pizza, we were so shocked. There was barely and cheese or sauce. The mushrooms were really dry. We had to "doctor it up" with more cheese and I really wished there was more sauce on it. Definitely not worth a 50 minute wait. This was nothing like the pizza I had there before.

Staff are exceptionally friendly. The pizza and calzones are solid, good fare. Just not exceptional. If we lived closer it would probably be our go to pizza joint but isn't quite worth the current 45 minute drive for us. They were out of the famous key lime pie when we went so I may change to 5 stars if I get a chance to try it

I ordered a cheese pizza and some fries. I’ll start by saying that the pizza had so little cheese, it was mostly marinara. The pizza was pretty flavorless and all you can taste is the dry Italian seasoning that’s sprinkled on top. The fries were very very salty, we could not eat them even if we tried scraping the salt off. This has to be the first time I’m ever disappointed by pizza or fries.

I ate here on Saturday with my parents and toddler. We ordered three cokes, two burgers, a salad and a basket of fries for $80 including tip. Two complaints: 1. My burger had plastic wrap in it. 2. Our receipt said “Old People” on it. (See attached) We rarely go out to eat and this was a big treat for my family. The experience was not only unenjoyable but actually made us feel bad about ourselves afterwards — the exact opposite of how a good meal should make you feel. Very disappointing.
