It was dinnertime. All the restaurants in Crested Butte had 30 to 60 minute wait times. We barely noticed Sherpa because it is not on Elk Street, but there was no wait time, which delighted us because we love Indian food. Sherpa did not disappoint. Delicious and satisfying. Try the Momos for an appetizer. Ask for a chicken and veggie combo, because they are both even tastier than the other. :)

Family run place with great food and very personable service. My son(9) and I were in town for spring break and this was recommended as an off the main drag place. The owners daughter helped pick 3 separate entrees because I wanted to expose him to some different cuisine. All 3 were delicious and he actually ate the leftovers for breakfast. Absolutely will come back next year.

Friendly, prompt service. We have a child with nut / soy allergies and they patiently helped us select items that were safe for her. We enjoyed everything we ordered. Would highly recommend, if you enjoy Indian / Nepalese food.

We were in Crested Butte for 6 days and went there twice for dinner. The Nepali/Tibetan food was outstanding. The stew, the dumplings, the naan... just everything tasted so great! Staff was great! if there's a wait, it's well worth it... go early!

Got into Crested Butte Sunday evening and set out for dinner after a long day of travel. Turns out there's not a ton open on Sundays in CB, but Sherpa Cafe was there for us and they did a great job! You can sit indoors or outdoors; the inside is snug and cozy with not a ton of seating. The single-person bathroom was clean and tidy. We were happy to hang out outside and people watch. Service was very polite and sweet and got our orders out quickly and efficiently. We shared orders of samosas, garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, and chicken momo. The samosas were light and crispy, not greasy at all, and came with a lightly spicy dipping sauce that we all liked. The chicken tikka masala was super creamy, maybe a little on the sweet side compared to other versions I've had, but still delicious with the perfectly aromatic basmati rice. Weirdly enough, the garlic naan was the weak link -- it wasn't buttery / crispy enough for me. Still enjoyed it, but I've had better. Lastly, the chicken momo were tender, flavorful, and numerous. We don't have anywhere to get momo in our home town so they are always a huge treat! Thanks to Sherpa Cafe for such a pleasant first evening in CB!

Such a lovely place with good, hard-working folks. Got to meet Sis and Aria while I are the most delicious meat/veggie/dumpling stew with garlic naan. Grateful for the hearty meal and good company.

Went here because everything else was busy and boy am I glad. Super nice staff, very attentive and quick. Chai is so flavorful and good. I had been craving Nepalese dumplings (momo) for so long and hadn’t had them in years so I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and flavors. Also had the curry and it was great. Overall very very satisfied. they also had a non scheduled party of 10 walk in unsuspectedly during a rain storm and we’re able to seat them in like 4 minutes which is needless to say impressive
