Best Gen. Tzo's around (yes, better than Chen's). Great Prices. Nice People. No what you are getting: no ambiance, tiny staff, this is not for those looking for a fine dining experience. For those that want great food at a good price they can't be beat! We started eating there when we lived in the neighborhood, now that we've moved away I still make the drive to Cranberry to pick it up to go.
Best Vegetarian Chinese food I have ever had. I miss this place every week. I recently moved out of state but for the last 2 years I have been going here weekly. It is run by a wonderful family. The food is amazing and the only problem is Cranberry twp is too big for its own good now and people are too impatient. This place gets very busy and they do an amazing job of keeping up. I have tried almost every Vegetarian dish he can make and they all are better then I have had elsewhere. I have not found a place out in Ohio yet that compares sadly. Give them a try next time your looking for chinese food with excellent flavor. Try the Hunan sauce or the General Tsos for sure!
Soup and Thai Food. Fantastic Hout and sour soup with Right spices and lot of Tofu and Mushroom . Best for this weather when its cold in Pittsburgh . The yellow curry was not upto the taste and the chef made it the Indian style I wanted with flavor . He was kind enough to give me a small portion of Red Curry Chicken . The little girl who works there is cute . Will be back soon
Best Chinese food I know of. Pittsburgh is already privileged with a great Chinese restaurant market but red bowl is close to home, unbelievably affordable and consistently delicious. My family's personal favorite dishes are mango chicken, Singapore noodles, general tso's(of course) and red rose scallops. Lunch prices are only 6.50!
Joey and her husband always will recognize repeat customers.
ALWAYS good food AND service!. I don't know where these bad reviewers have been visiting, but it wasn't MY local Red Bowl. The service is TOP NOTCH, we are always greeted with a smile and the waitress/owner always remembers our order. We come in maybe monthly, and somehow she remembers us.
Every dish we have had has been tasty and beautifully prepared.
I really don't understand the people who have complained about this restaurant -- it is consistently good food, and consistently good service. Couldn't ask for more!
More please!. This is such a nice place! I wish they delivered too, but I like to dine in here. It's always clean, and such nice staff. The food is incredibly delicious!
Absolutely FABULOUS !!!!! I had the Thai Red Curry Shrimp and it couldn't have been better in ANY way. Served HOT, unlike those horrible Chinese buffets. Vegetables al dente. Large shrimp perfectly cooked - not overdone. Spiced and flavored perfectly. I'll be back tomorrow! (Only one itty bitty thing - not a fan of the country western music, but I'll listen to most anything for this fine food !!!!!)
This is my uncle Chen's resturant and it is really goood I wish he can cook this for me everyday u have to try it
A Little Bang for a Little Buck. After searching for a decent place to eat at in Cranberry (there are so many restaurants but so few of any quality) outside of the five million chain restaurants, I came upon the reviews for Red Bowl and decided to try it. Maybe the reviews hyped it up to much because it was just really nothing special at all. For an appetizer I tried the pork egg roll and the spring roll. The spring roll was literally only cabbage. I like cabbage so that is fine, but it was pretty bland. The egg roll I would not order again. For dinner I had the Crispy Beef off of the specials menu and it was good...sweet and chewy. My boyfriend ordered one of the combination specials that had Red Curry Shrimp and General Tso's. The curry was fine...curry paste and coconut milk...pretty boring. The General Tso's was not spicy at all and was just sweet. I would definitely not order that again. I doubt that anyone would have a bad experience at Red Bowl, but I really don't feel the desire to ever go back there again. If I lived in the surrounding neighborhood I might. Prices are very low. I hate to even say it, but Chen's is much better all around.
Red Bowl. Great stop if you like Asiian or Thai. The crispy beef was delicious and everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked great. The servings were generous and the leftovers were tasty as well. Its a must stop.
Try the General. I have been to Red Bowl many times for lunch. I would love to try the whole lunch menu, but, every time I have been there I just can not resist staying with the classic line up of Hot and Sour Soup (one of the best I have ever had), General Tso Chicken, with Egg Roll and Fried Rice. I can highly recommend Red Bowl.
Do you love chinese and or thai food???if you do you will loooooove red bowl. Im the type of kid that absolutly loves Spicy food, but if you dont , it you can ask for it however you want. If u like shrimp and coconut milk I recommend the spicy thaired curry shrimp,it is to die for!!!!!It is also GLUTEN FREE!!!!!!!
We eat Asian food once a week and have tried many in the North of Pittsburgh. This one serves Thai and Chinese food and is our favorite one to go to. My wife has a gluten allergy and the chef will make her dish accordingly. We love the hot and sour soup which is made when you order. The red curry shrimp, shrimp rice noodle and shrimp fried rice are out of this world. Once you try it you will love it
Fantastic food!!! Definitley my new go to Chinese restaurant!!! The cheese wontons were the best I have ever had!! Hot and sour soup was fantastic!!! The Singapore noodles were loaded with shrimp and the chicken in the Thai red curry was SO tender! Very reasonably priced....two entrees, one soup, one appetizer, and two drinks for $28!!! Servings were very generous, service extremely friendly! The chef even came out to ask how we liked everything!
Good Asian food. The Red Bowl in Cranberry is a great option if you're in the mood for Asian food, but you're not sure what you want. They cook all the standard American Chinese dishes and they do them well. They have a mix of Thai and other Asian dishes on their menu, but I haven't tried any of that yet.
Service is fast and courteous for both take-out and dine in. I wouldn't classify this as a destination restaurant, but I wouldn't hesitate recommending this if you're in Cranberry and in the mood for Asian.
You must try the hot & sour soup!. Best hot and sour soup I have ever had ( that's a lot). I had to stop myself from going there 5 days straight for that soup. Mango chicken is also delicious. Red curry chicken is not as saucy as it is in Thai restaurants, but still good. So glad this restaurant opened in Cranberry TWP!
It is the best Asian food I have ever tried, your attention and waiting time is very good, congratulations, your food is incredible, I recommend it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Love their take out! Fair prices, food is hot when I pick it up. Never had a bad meal from there. Sometimes it's not the best but probably the most reasonable Chinese take out you can find in cranberry.
Honey chicken was yummy. General Tso's was just ok. Great egg rolls.
This is one of our favorite places for a nice casual dinner. The food is always hot and fast and the employees are always professional and courteous. We really like the general Tsos chicken as well as the cheesy wontons. We recommend this place to everybody that asks where to get the best Chinese food in cranberry township.
Ordered the Vegetable Mei Fun and it was very good. A little bit saucier than I'm used to, but it still tasted great. Restaurant was clean, service was fast. Not overly friendly but not rude either. Children were present but were well behaved, I barely noticed them.
UPDATE: I have to say their Vegetable Mei Fun is 10 times better than the China King in Seven Fields. Now I'm not sure I'll like vegetable mei fun from anywhere else!
I liked it was very delicious 😋. I recommend you came here
First time visiting in 2 yrs! Same great food and service as we always experienced in years prior! Sure, the prices went up slightly but people need to understand that with the prices of everything rising, so does the price of food items and other things used for running a business. 🤷♀️
This is the best Chinese food around!! Great family!
Went last night for the first time and we loved it. Service was great and the food had amazing flavor. I had the Happy Family and all the meat was juicy and tender and the shrimp was amazing.
We don't live in the area but will return when we are down there.
This place is becoming one of my regular lunch spots. Every time I go the food is amazing. I'm a vegetarian and was really excited that they have general tso's tofu! It's a family owned restaurant and the family is very straight forward which can come off poorly, but I enjoy that my friends and I can eat in peace instead of hearing "is everything alright" all the time. I would highly recommend this place for great Chinese food.
The Red Bowl China is a unique experience. The decor is authentic and the staffers are amiable and pleasant. As you can tell by the picture, the food is impeccable. The flavors really top off a perfect crunch in the spicy general Tso chicken. I assure you that every meal on the menu will be as satisfactory to you as I guarantee you my meal was. All in all, a place to put on your bucket list and a personal favorite.
I work right down the street from this location and have been coming here most Friday & Saturday nights on my lunch hour. Food is always cooked correctly, taste great and for a good price. Allot of the items are fried :'( but the lady that works here is very personable and can point you in the right direction to there more healthier dishes.
Tonight. I am having steamed chicken in a wine sauce and expected it tastes very good
I love the Red Bowl. I always like to go support small family run businesses. The food there is great!!! I get General Tso's chicken. It was a good price and a huge portion. The food came up fast as well. I can't wait to go back.
Food was delicious. I had the Pad Thai Tofu and my girlfriend had the Broccoli in Garlic Sauce. I usually don't care for Asian food because the sauce is heavy and too sweet. Both sauces (plus the duck sauce that came with the fried wontons) tasted fresh and homemade. Possibly the best Chinese I've ever had. I definitely liked it better than Chen's (the food, anyway).
The service was a bit slow, but I think that was mostly due to the stream of customers while we were dining in. Only other complaint is that I don't like country music.
I'll definitely be back to try the curry and spicy mango.
Only negative is having that poor little girl working 6 days a week open to close basically and she has to be less then 10 years old.. so sweet though I love her she’s so great and nice.
Simple little place but the wall decorations are beautiful and the food is amazing for a great price! I got the lo mein and fried rice to share with another and there was so much we had maybe another 2 meals worth. Would highly recommend this lovely little place.
