Boathouse Bar And Grill

Off the beaten path was this quiet little bar. At least it was when we stopped in at 2:30 p.m. on a weekday just in time for the start of happy hour! They have these huge chicken poppers, handmade and perfectly cooked, crunchy, and gooey cheesy! The onion rings are thickly battered, so very crispy and delish. At one point, we were the only ones there (if you don't count the blackbirds who wanted nibbles) and really enjoyed the shady deck with water view. The waitress was very friendly and great, and gave us discounts on everything! I hope to come back sometime for the live music and fun!

Amazing atmosphere, wait staff, menu for all tastes. Outdoor patio bartenders, tables with the beautiful evening view of the water were superb! Inside bar, staff and dining area was just awesome! The food was delicious from the boiled shrimp to the fried platter everything was delicious! Can’t wait to come back soon!

We enjoyed our visit. We went around 5 on a weekday. Not busy so we got excellent service. We enjoyed sitting by the windows and enjoying the water view. We ordered Mexican martinis that were pretty good. I ordered the wrapped shrimp which was a bit disappointing. It wasn't quite what I expected. Couldn't taste the cream cheese or crab just the bacon and shrimp and breading. But I also ordered a house salad and Mac n cheese that were both very good. My daughter ordered the mahi tacos and she really enjoyed them. Overall, it was a nice experience and we may visit again next time we are on the island. The location is perfect as it was only a couple of minutes from where we were staying.

Food is to die for! If you don't read the rest at least read that. 5 stars for food. Apps/Meals/Drinks fantastic! Came in Monday night even after reading not so great reviews. I had time and no agenda so I thought I just wanted to try somewhere new on the water even if they are a bit slow. I will support many of the previous negative reviews but add my take...Arrived and a group of 4 in front of us had been waiting and walked out. I saw this happen multiple times during my visit. There was 1 bartender working and 1 waitress. Short staffing is definitely affecting this place, but the 1 waitress that was working didn't seem to be motivated to prevent walk outs. At one point she had 2 or so tables and still wasn't seating families walking in the door. I will say for the evening, her lack of attention definitely turned away multiple tables and income for the business. This place has great atmosphere, 2 story and outdoor seating but none of which could be utilized because the waitress did not want to serve indoor and out so we opted to sit at the bar. We were served by Lolo the bartender. She was fantastic. Great drinks, attentive, she went above and beyond. She was serving a full bar, answering the phone and even made time to sit tables and take orders. I'm sure going way beyond her necessary job duties. The food was amazing, we ordered appetizers and meals throughout the night. I didn't seem to notice a long wait time as others have reported. As far as quantity, I will say I paid $15 for calamari which was a very small portion and not worth that price, BUT it was very good. Chicken fried steak, amazing, mac & cheese amazing, fried shrimp...all of it very very good. Honestly even though I have multiple complaints as others, I'd still definitely go back.

Nice little place on the water. I had a pina colada, and it was good. We had their fried pickles - very good eith just the right amount of breading. I had their shrimp basket. The shrimp are delicious. My husband had their 4 alarm burger and stated it was good with a moderate heat level. FYI - he doesn't handle spice well so some may consider the burger to be mild. The onion rings were absolutely delicious!!

House was packed, cook walked out... yet this was by far the best dining experience we had on our vacation. The food was very good. Our server doing the best she could, and the manager actually cooking provided the perfect recipe for a memorable evening. In the midst of tired, sunburned and upset customers, they didn't stop doing their job. Professionalism at this level is noteworthy. Thank you for providing a wonderfully memorable evening and great dinner for our family.
