Had a great and relaxing dinner with friends. Love the ambiance, the food was cooked at the temperature I asked for. A perfect place to unwind.

Wonderful evening out with my wife. Pleasant walkable area of Orange Avenue in Coronado. Romantic early-evening interior lighting, table candles, silhouettes of fellow patrons and guests through glass and panels, and room-expanding reflections from wall mirrors. Comfortable and intimate seating. Professional five-star staff. (We loved the formality, to include being seated side by side with a "table push"). My wife and I started with bruschetta and red wines (mine from Italy, hers from Argentina), then moved to pasta plates of Tortellini Verdi and Linguinne alle Vongole. The bruschetta was perfect; soft mozzarella, flavorful tear-drop tomatoes in garlic-basil, all tastefully toasted atop crostini. Our unpaired wines were spontaneous and memorable. Following the antipasti, we were presented with our main course. The cream tomato sauce of the tortellini spread warmth and thick satisfaction. Meanwhile the clams of the linguine came plentiful, and were placed lightly, almost playfully, around plate and through pasta. Unexpected sweetness topped it all off: complimentary Tiramisu with two dessert forks. Overall, an expensive meal, but one that was experienced with formality, spontaneity, satisfaction, and suprise. An evening experience worthy of a return.

Easily one of the best hidden secrets for amazing Italian cuisine in San Diego.. or better yet Coronado! We've been going for a couple decades and find it amazing that it has kept up and never lost a beat. The service is outstanding in the best old school way. The staff are extraordinarily attentive, extremely knowledgeable from the wines to the entree recommendations. Do yourself a favor and try it yourself. See if you agree!

This is an absolutely first-class wonderful restaurant and I highly recommend it. The food is outstanding and the service is the best. When I first checked it out on the Internet, I saw a negative review of its Caesar Salad so, when we got there, this was the first thing I ordered. Never (never!) had I had a better Caesar Salad. As I said, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! GO THERE. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.

Unfortunately the fantastic ambiance and service were not matched by the food. The oso-buco had mouth-watering flavor but the meat was surprisingly tough. I really wanted to enjoy the lobster ravioli -- the sauce was good, but wasn't a fan of the ravioli and filling. I'm not one to send food back unless there's something terribly wrong with it. The food wasn't bad but certainly didn't match value with the price.

Service and food was excellent, but it took almost 40 minutes to pay our bill because the owner couldn't get our gift card to go through. It's a great restaurant, but in those instances when there is no communication happening and it takes that long, I can't give a 5 star.

This is one of those little gems that every community harbors. I've been to this restaurant only three times in my life, but each time has been memorable. The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful, the atmosphere is low-key and refined. They have a great selection of wine. The dishes containing veal and bone marrow are to die for. I like most of the pasta dishes that don't contain seafood (I'm not much of a seafood person!). When I was here last night, my brother had a soup that contained clams and he swears they were delicious. The charcuterie is also very good.
