Went to try Tabooleh today for lunch. Since I am allergic to pine, I cannot have most authentic Mediterranean desserts, including baklava. I asked a waiter just to be sure if the desserts contained pine nuts, which they all did. About five minutes later, the owner brought out and served me at my table, an entire plate of baklava without any pine nuts. They made a plate of baklava just for me! If you haven't tried Tabooleh yet, I'd highly recommend it!!
The only way you will eat like this at your home is if your Mom is Egyptian! Great selection of dishes - everyone will find something yummy on this buffet of Arabian Foods! For those that are new, there are some notes of explanation on the buffet table, as Vegan items are clearly marked. Also, easy to stay gluten-free with this cuisine! Tabooleh has a nice atmosphere and good music softly playing in the background for those that wish for a bit of "exotic" atmosphere. Looks like they have a side room for special parties too!
We went for dinner a few days ago and we'll be back again! Variety of choices with meat and vegan dishes, a grill where the chef cooks up different meats with veggies on the spot, desserts and candies, and such delightful service and attention. We enjoyed multiple plates of good food and left very satisfied and looking forward to next time Would highly recommend!
Excellent buffet. Well worth the drive from Davenport. I didn’t want to stop eating but my stomach was ready to burst. Some of the tastiest gyro meat I’ve ever had. Super friendly service. Will definitely be back.
We went to Tabooleh a couple of days ago and I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed it. The food was phenomenal! And what a great idea, Mediterranean food as a buffet. As I am unfamiliar with it in general, I was able to try dishes I might not otherwise if I had to order individually. It was fresh, hot, and delicious! I spoke to the owner, Yasser, and he was so friendly and helpful, answering my question on ingredients and the names of dishes. It is already my favorite restaurant in the Iowa City/Coralville area and I've only been once. Please go, you will not regret it!!

Great middle eastern restaurant that is worth it in every way. Generous portions, fresh food, and very flavorful to boot. Would recommend this place for takeout and dine-ins! (p.s try their lamb shank you won't be dissapointed)
I love this restaurant! I visited it on a whim and loved everything about it. They have a great selection of Mediterranean food. The staff is very friendly, too. They treat you like family anytime you come in.
Make sure to have some babaganoosh. It is the best I've had in the area. Their gyro meat is also excellent, as is their pita. The stuffed peppers are also delicious.
We took plater of kebab and we enjoyed the food so much. If you are looking for halal food in Iowa city then you can definitely go to this restaurant.

I have lived in iowa for 15 years and I would say that tabooleh restaurant is the most authentic 💯 and delicious food i have tried. I travel 40 minutes just to pick up my food.

Visited this place on the second day of opening and the food was amazing. Loved the customer service and the vibe. The food has an authentic homemade test wish was perfect. If you like Mediterranean food this place is definitely the go to place in Iowa City if not the only place. They have a plenty of variety to choose from the salad, entree and dessert. One last don't forget to get have your tea !!!
