Review Yum Yum Chinese Restaurant - Coral Gables

The night before Christmas, we enjoyed a most exquisite holiday meal. This was a family table event and we had the chance to taste a delightful variety of traditional Chinese delicacies. On regular nights, we enjoy the dinner specials. These are very nicely priced combination dinners. I highly recommend the Fried Tofu with Black Mushrooms.

This rating is not for their food, but rather the service and the cleanliness of the place. I've been here a couple of times asking about their duck but they are always out, one time I was finally able to get one, and it wasn't bad. I'm not crazy about their food but it isn't bad at all either. The place looks a bit dirty, at least the last 3 times I was here it was. I usually order to go but have eaten inside, they are friendly but they look at you like you did something wrong, which I didn't care for either, they usually have family in there too, maybe kids and what seems to be someone's grandma which has glared at me like I'm stuffing things in my pockets. Anyways, besides all this go ahead and eat their food, not really a disappointment. They have a big problem, and it's next door, a more busy Japanese suchi restaurant. I can understand their concerns with parking because costumers will park wherever they see fit, but today (the day I'm leaving this review) I had a problem with Yum Yum, one that I didn't have in the past with them, I wanted to order from both places but because the restaurant next door takes so long I wanted to place my order, come back to Yum Yum, place my order with them, pick up next door, then pick up from Yum Yum again. I told the lady first which is what I always do that I parked in one of their 5 parking spots in front of the restaurant and told her my intentions (again, like I always do) but she told me that if I was ordering next door first I had to park on their parking, I tried to plead her telling her she's allowed me to do this before, I can understand that with so many costumers she doesn't remember me, but boy.. I felt she was pretty rude, masking her attitude with a sorry, twice. I told her I could leave my card or I.D. which I just remembered that they're not supposed to accept it anyways. I could explain in further details but this is too much a waste of time for a place I will not be coming back to, there are others that are better, except for the duck, around my area. I'm not saying I don't suggest eating here but be aware that you might feel unwelcomed. By the way out of their 5 parking spots only 2 are taken, finally after almost an hour someone parked there but apparently just realized that to go next door and eat at the other restaurant you can't use Yum Yum's parking spots. My order is ready not next door, I could have been eating Chinese, but they lost me as a costumer.

Forget all the people in the reviews who are complaining about the most trivial things - yeah, you're not gonna get Michelin star level service at a Chinese takeout restaurant. Yeah, you're not gonna get personalized, top of the top quality food here either. Sure, the online delivery system doesn't work sometimes - lower your expectations, it's not exactly an easy task to have someone personally cook all your food and then have someone else deliver it to your exact address, which is why UberEats bleeds millions every year. Anyone who expects this is delusional and entitled. Fact is, this place is really great for what it is - a fast and cheap takeout restaurant. The service is really good too actually, for how busy the hostess looked. The food is great for the price and the portions are more than fair. I literally have nothing to complain about and I will be returning soon.

Delicious food, the owner is always nice and courteous. Try the spicy Singapore noodle, it's our favorite!!😊

I would give this place a higher rating but my partners orange chicken was horrible it was straight breadcrumbs with sauce no white meat at all! He even threw it across the kitchen. The tofu was great and their fried rice is always good. Just stay away from the orange chicken.

Great Chinese Take Out. Great for Delivery and Take Out. They have consistently great food and the portions are HUGE!!!!! Seriously... portions are enough for 2-3 people so sharing is a plus. Highly recommend honey garlic chicken. It's chicket bites deep friend like sweet and sour but the sauce is the wonderful honey sauce. I can't taste the garlic. I LOVE this chicken dish and there is always plenty for the next day at work for lunch or dinner. The only item I don't care for is the wonton soup. Everything else has been great. Been ordering for over a year at least twice a month. Ower and Staff is very nice. Inside is quiet and nothing fancy but owners are very nice. We do the delivery.This is our favorite Chinese restaurant in a 20 mile radius. That is saying a lot bcause I'm picky. You won't be disappointed and definitely order the honey garlic chicken. Oh yea, if you order a side of vegies you will be very happy there too. HUGE order and VERY tasty/mild white sauce. GREAT VALUE all around.

Best in the area. Good Chinese food for very reasonable prices. The food is prepared very quickly, and it is delicious. Usually the restaurant is empty, but most of thier bizniss is take-out.

Good food, cheap combos. This restaurant is right up the street from me. It's unique in that it offers lots of different combinations at a good price and also they make a mean Egg Roll (it's red inside like in the Northeast!!). They deliver, though I'm not sure how expensive it would be as I always pick up. They make your food super fast, so you can order on your way home and it'll be ready by the time you get there. The staff is super nice and will remember you after a few visits. Parking out front is a horrible situation (as you would have to back into on-coming traffic on Coral Way), but there's usually parking behind the restaurant (there's 4 or 5 spaces) or parking along the street right next to it.<br/><br/>I would say most patrons take their food to go, so don't be dismayed by the empty restaurant. And, if you do want to sit down to eat, don't expect to be wowed by the decor. Just enjoy your cheap eats!

Typical Chinese-American Fare. I go here all the time. The food is decent by Chinese takeout standards, the portions are pretty large. Mostly I go here because it's very close to the house and the people who work there are extremely nice. Otherwise, it doesn't stand out in any way. Parking is a huge problem, leaving almost always involves trying to back out onto Coral Way.
