Sam's Southern Eatery

The food was excellent. Reminded me of fresh out of the sea or ocean. I had shrimp catfish and slaw. The only thing needed was a pickle raw onion and some green tomato relish. They do offer fried green tomatoes. Oh I had one of them to. I will be back. They have really cleaned the restaurant up painted it bright. Looks an feels comfortable

We have tried several things, fish is awesome as the crab cakes too! Ordered the burgers tonight through a delivery and not really hot, II watched the delivery schedule so I know they were right on time and the burgers weren't even seasoned . Was expecting more at least some sort of flavor, very small amount of fries for delivery too. Will try it again. Hope they focus on delivery needs

My wife and I had eaten and enjoyed the restaurant that occupied this location before it closed and Sam's moved in. We thought we'd give it a shot. We were amazed at both the quantity and quality of the food served. The waitresses were terrific and helpful and checked on us often. We've eaten there many times and have no complaints between us. Unfortunately, that changed at noon today. As we entered the business Friday it was full of smiling diners, but after being seated we could hear what the other eaters were saying and the complaints were many. Apparently many had been there a long while and their drink orders had not been taken. Other's had gotten their drink and ordered but had been waiting a long time. Two tables had been there long enough with no service until they finally left their tables to find another place to eat. The line to pay was backed up and there were grumblings heard. The wait was too long for a lunch break and many more were leaving. The waitresses were killing themselves trying to keep up with customers, orders, cleaning tables and running the cash flow. They were trying but having trouble. I hate to say it, but after forty five minutes with no service we left. I was disappointed as we left and I heard no less than six tables and customers saying they wouldn't be back. It was Friday, it was fish day, it was noon and it was busy. They may have lost customers, both old and new, on this day, but I won't stop going there and I'll keep recommending them anytime I can.

The food was bland. We didn't get many hush puppies and the waitress was kinda rude and gave off the impression that she REALLY wanted us to leave. The drinks tasted odd and the amount of sauce for anything was really small. We came in just after lunch time (around 1-2ish) and there were no other customers.
