Wimpy's Diner

There was dried vomit in front of the front door when I arrived i thought this is very bad optics. I should have been power washed away I walked and sat my self down in a booth Looking for nice twist combo Asian waitress is like soup kitchen nasty, I asked for half tomato, half potato with my twist order she said no you pay extra I say no tip for you. Plus you get a bad review. Every wimpys i have been to has no problem with half tomato half potato All I can say is go to the Wimpys in Thornhill on Yonge Street its way better I always tip big time for good service and good food.

New review March 2019: Definitely not like place regardless of the new management and staff. Lets put it this way...one of the waitress is really condescending and it was to talking to me like I'm mentally challenged. She asked me if I'm hungry...what kind of question is that... "No I come to Wimpy's to dance...". She asked if the food is ok and when I responded "not really" and then she ignored me and moved on to my surprise. With the first occasion I have asked her why did she put the question if my opinion doesn't matter or counts. Let's go over the actual food. I ordered Benedict Salmon. There was no Salmon as I imagined. There were 2 thin strips of smoked Salmon laid on two pieces of bread. Everything was covered with some eggs and added some home made fries on the side ( I believe that's the name used on the menu) The price was13.99$. For this price, in an actual restaurants I will get an actual Salmon. Definitely waist of money and time. I don't recommend it to anyone. Please see the pics. Also I need to mention that the salmon strips were frozen. My girlfreind ordered medium rare steak and she got am medium well steak. Worth to mention that I'm my coffee cup there was a small piece of hair. See pics. Old review: Pleasant serving stuff. Good food. Everything was good except a bit longer time to cook the meal and to get to our table.Overall, a very good experience. Staff was pleasant, mannered and attentive.

Customer service was really good, the person at the front was really patient while taking our order and made sure they got everything right. The food was okay, portion was very nice and filling but it didn't really taste amazing. I ordered an omelette and it looked really good but the egg tasted burnt and unsalted. Lastly, the cook wasn't wearing a mask and I honestly don't feel too safe eating at a restaurant where someone is making my food without a mask during these times.

Great diner with friendly staff and good food. Everything in Wimpy's adds to the authentic diner atmosphere from the seating, the decor, and the music. Prices can get up to around $20 per person especially if you want to swap items or order a drink. The staff is helpful to let you know when you will be up charged before you have to make a decision.

Update: came on a Sunday and had to wait 20 minutes for takeout order and it wasn't even that busy. Then upon payment the ASIAN lady was very upset we didn't leave a tip for a TAKEOUT order and she scrunched up our receipt not even asking if we needed a copy. Lastly, when I got to work I didn't even have a fork or any condiments to go with my food. This is unacceptable behavior from any hostess and I will not be coming back to this establishment as long as she is working here. Great customer service, drinks refilled without having to ask, food is prompt and always have seats available.

1st star for having the most passionate server in town. 2nd star for cleanliness 3rd star for fast service, despite having only one cook (i think I only saw one guy at the back) 4th star for being baby-friendly, and yummy deep fried pickles Lost star --- the hot dog wasn't what my palate had in mind, but the server did say order the steak burger.
