The Backyard Restaurant

This place is absolutely AMAZING! If you are looking for a Family Friendly Venue, this is your place. I held three large events (approx. 120 pax per event) and our guests had the best time ever. The food was great and the staff were very nice and friendly. There are play areas for the children as well as a space for adults to enjoy a hot or cold drink. We did different activities for the kids during the first two hours and we pre-ordered all the meals. The kids had a ball. The owners are easy to deal with and accommodating. The BACKYARD is located inside “Briars Sports Club”. I am looking forward to organising another event soon.

We had our little girl's 2nd birthday party at the Backyard and it was perfect! We had the pizza & pasta sharing menu for our group of 30 - the food was delicious, everyone loved the pizzas. The venue was perfect and the kids loved playing outside. Thank you to Tiff and Adam for being so accommodating and making everything so easy for us. Highly recommend for groups with kids!

Overall good experience, just a few things that didn't make it a 5 star option. Disappointing can't seem to speak to anyone to book or ask questions, had to be all online. Food took close to an hour to arrive and wasn't even peak, hate to see what peak time would be like. Quality / portion size did not match high cost . One of my orders did not exactly match order, instead of schnitzel was grilled, which I dealt with because I was starving and probably the healthier option, but would have been nice to know prior to tucking in! Great place for kids to run around.

The place is great for kids to run around and play. You have set times which is fine however when they take an hour and a half to deliver your food, the timings become an issue especially as we needed to have a cake post food. After numerous requests chasing the food they just didn't care. I think they can't handle the volumes.

The backyard has huge outdoor play area for the kids so the adults can enjoy the food while the kids are kept busy outside. Plenty of outdoor seatings available. Order the food at the counter and pay it to get the food delivered to the table. Portion as well as price was alright. There are some gaming machines inside as well.

Bit of an odd second experience, first time was great. Food came out in a timely manner, this time round, it was a booked party and the kitchen must've been understaffed, orders were coming out extremely slowly (a good 40 min wait) and dishes were missing from different tables altogether. Still, the kids like the play area and keeps them off parents backs for a little while so can still round out to a 3 star experience.

I visited The Backyard at Concord a few weeks ago for dinner. Although the food was quite nice, I couldn't help but notice the poor treatment of the hardworking staff at this establishment, primarily by one of the men in the kitchen. Our server was doing a fantastic job until he was rudely interrupted by someone in the kitchen angrily yelling at him to do something while he was in the middle of taking orders for my wife and me. I've worked in the hospitality business for 30 years and have never scolded any of my workers for just doing their job. I like to tell my employees that nothing is more important than putting the customer first, and I'd like to commend the young man serving us for ensuring we were looked after despite the pressure put on him. I would have rated it higher, but my experience was soured after what I witnessed. Not sure if we'll be returning.

A solid NO for the food here. A friend ordered schnitty and said it was awful and my burger, whilst it 'appeared' cooked was fridge cold in the centre. That my friends is how you get salmonella poisoning. Not sure how they managed this ( what, par cook at prep time and then drop on the hot plate when ordered?). Train your staff, make sure your equipment is up to the task or don't offer to make food for paying customers. I WAS offered a refund 😧 just so disappointing.
