Really enjoyed this Tex-Mex spot. Very colorful atmosphere, friendly staff, and the food was good.
They have a sauce bar where you can choose from over a dozen different sauces from mild heat to "I dare you to take a shot of this" heat levels.
My only complaint would be the ti y cup of salsa that comes with your tortilla chips isn't really enough. Even after I split it to two cups and added hot sauce from the bar, I still felt I was lacking. Maybe pre-Covid salsa was also available at the hot sauce bar? Either way, I'd suggest asking for extra salsa when you order if you like it with your tortilla chips.

Service was ok. But food was really yucky. I'm not sure if that's normal for the restaurant, but we were very surprised it's so highly rated, popular. The chicken quesadilla was barely edible. The salsa was really gross and tasted like shrimp juice was in it. Also tried a chipotle burrito that was hard to eat. And we had some tacos that were not impressive It tastes like there are almost no spices used in the cooking, maybe just like salty chicken bullion and artificial smoke flavors in the chipotle. Neat atmosphere, but we tried a variety of food and it was all VERY unpleasant. It was definitely the worst Mexican food we've ever had. We'll not be going back again.

The way that they package flautas to go now is absolutely ridiculous! Previously (all other locations still do this by the way, this is the ONLY location that stopped) they would pack the to-go container with a generous amount of lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, and guacamole. Now since they are a “test” location, they package the veggies/toppings in small little plastic containers, that aren’t even sufficient for the order. I literally have to go to the store and spend more money to have enough lettuce, tomatoes, etc. Also this is even after I ask them for extra veggies. If you have experienced this as well, speak up! This new to-go method is giving us customers less value for our money. They didn’t even fill the containers up with lettuce! SMH. Unacceptable.

The only people that was working was the GM and an employee. They ran the whole restaurant!
It was busy and they went above and beyond. Henny the GM is phenomenal. We need more people like him!
Food was flavorful and great!
Henny explained the new menu items and was passionate on what he is doing.
One new item they have on their menu is wings. Wings at a Mexican type restaurant? They were a hit with my son and I!
My son and I love hot sauces and they have a great selection!
We all loved the artwork in the whole restaurant!

So, my first time here. Very disappointing. Giving 2 stars for friendliness.
Chicken Nachos & Chicken Tacos = BLAND.
Both had very little meat included. Nothing was hot / warm - even the tortillas.
The chicken itself seemed to be stewed & not even grilled. The lettuce & shredded cheese literally tasted like something you buy from Walmart.
The portions were okay - basically standard size but again, light on the protein especially for what you pay - $30 for two 'meals'.
I (basically) considered this glorified fast food. I highly suggest making this yourself at home - it will likely taste better.

I had to wait a while to get my food as they were training (on a Friday of all days) but when I got my food it was DELICIOUS. Literally. The burrito was fat. Just slapped some of their green sauce on that bad boy and devoured it. I do recommend. Also a little too expensive. So eat by yourself is also my recommendation.

This is an awesome Tex-max place. The food is delicious and consistently good every time I’ve been there. The staff is friendly and service is fast. Highly recommend!
