From the times I had this place referred by Yelp it turned out to be a slight disappointment food and service wise. Came here on Friday night and got a nice table in the corner. Dining hal is small and has only about 11 tables + bar and outside table. Single person servicing the whole place is definitely it enough. We had to wait and experienced “hold on a sec” looking at someone’s back few times till other tables left. Recommended Hungarian Goulash was very tender, however so over salted that had to leave it at the plate. German Bratwurst with potato salad on the other hand was mild sausage, nothing to stand out from with regular potato salad (why European?). Check Pilsner on tab was on the bitter side. Overall place got marked that “Been there”, however one time deal.

Even though I walk by DJ's every week, I wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't found it on Google. I'm glad I did because it was a really good time. The food is a little old fashioned: The portions are enormous—too much for one person—most of the meals came with potato salad and the bread comes with those frozen butter packets that simply do not melt. Despite that, the main entrees were great. The wiener schnitzel had spices folded into them that really elevated the meal. For a lot of us, it was our first time trying German food and it was a very positive experience.

I drive rather than fly because I love finding small spots that I'd otherwise miss. Well, that's not true. I drive because my wife won't fly. But finding small, intimate, out-of-the way restaurants is one of the benefits. Fortunately for me DJ's is walking distance from my home. Charming. Smiling staff. Great soup, salad and entrees. German beer on tap. DJ's has become a favorite and a place I bring out-of-town guests as well as good friends.

We were really looking forward to this place since we were from out of town. Decided to try this place but the food was quite bland and under seasoned. In comparison to Esthers German Bakery in MV, their schnitzel was not very flavorful and the breading was falling off too. The portion was very generous to feed two but not the best schnitzel I ever had. Their food looks very photogenic though.

This place is nostalgic to me. I felt like I was transported to Germany or the Czech Republic. The pilsner was cold and on tap (forget glasses of water), the pork schnitzel, red cabbage, and spaetzle with that mushroom gravy - delish! The salad dressing with dill is delightful. The soup was so flavorful. The apple strudel - just like home. Everything is delish here! You should visit if you want a taste of home and to build a community - everyone is your friend here.

There is a new owner and a chef , he makes stuff from scratch and you can taste the difference for the better, even though the food was always good. We just love this place and the server there is GREAT, her name is Monika
