Love the styling of this restaurant and the view is so beautiful. Went for Sunday Brunch buffet. And they have a great spread from a carving station to Mexican food to breakfast staples like biscuits and gravy. My favorite items are the prime rib, waffle, and omelet station.
My first time at this restaurant with family and we enjoyed it. It was just the females that went and we had a good time. We tried a few drinks and had no complaints. My sister had a mix drink and you’ll see one of her drinks in my picture. She said it was delicious but was sad about the size (haha). She recommend asking server for recommendations as she did. She did try several drinks and was impressed by all of them. I had a flight with several of their beers on tap. It was okay. Nothing new but it was fun to have a mixture at that moment.
The clam chowder soup had a nice taste but found more bits of potatoes than clams. Overall, it was fine.
The food was good, the service was good, and I would be returning in the future.
I've been a long-standing fan of the Pomona Valley Mining Company - going on 40 years, actually, given that the first time I remember going there was around my 10th birthday, when I started requesting steakhouse-dinners instead of pizza-parties, and boy did I make the right decision, lol...
Christmas Dinner has become an increasing difficulty to negotiate for my family, recently, but I think we've found the perfect solution in the P.V.M.C.'s Holiday Brunch.
From the moment we arrived, the staff excelled at setting up our table (which we had to reduce from a party of 9 to 6, due to various health concerns, and were met with zero question or lag) and corralling us all to to our dining location.
Brunch at the Mining Company is as extravagant as you might imagine, with every section of the restaurant turned into a veritable smorgasbord of culinary wonders, their classic salad bar enhanced with the addition of fresh, raw shrimp (cocktail sauce available for those who want it), a perpetual offering of snow-crab, and perfectly cooked mussels in an oil-and-garlic sauce that you'll want to share amongst the rest of the plate.
Throughout the rest of the spread, you will find every menu-item that you have ever hoped to try there, ranging from some of the most perfect "plain" scrambled eggs (read: full of rich, melted cheddar cheese layered throughout) you've ever had (alongside crisp bacon and rich, snappy sausage links) to a full omelette-bar, where you can curate the perfect concoction of ingredients to be expertly assembled and dropped onto your growing plate of delights.
Prime rib is sliced according your direction and added, with as generous a helping of au jus as you care to pour on either the plate directly (you should) or the ramekins they offer for all your condiment-related desires.
Have I mentioned the ribs? Both beef and St. Louis Pork are offered, and they will absolutely inevitably fall off the bone into some other dish, only to be discovered later as a surprise flashback from this culinary journey.
One particular standout I feel the need to mention is the Menudo: I have never had tripe so perfectly cooked, and those who have disliked the dish in the past due to this ingredient would do well to give it another go - it's just tender and flavorful, with barely any chew...
The drinks are generous and bottomless, and they have a couple of self-serve licuado stations set up (orange-juice and fruit punch; both delicious) for immediate refreshment.
The service is impeccable, and our server, Regina, was as capable as they were charismatic, agreeing to take our party's picture (see below) whilst balancing all of the various juggling-acts they had going on at the time... and if you *do* happen to have a span between courses, just soak up that panoramic view!
All-in-all, I think our family has just discovered a new Christmas tradition, and my only concern is that I might have to make a reservation even earlier next year, if it becomes half as popular as it deserves to be, lol... the best news is that they apparently (amazingly) do this *every* weekend, so if you have the *extremely reasonable* $45/plate (children negotiable; I don't remember the details - and they also have bottomless Mimosas, so...), I am giving this Brunch an 11/10 - would highly recommend.
Merry Christmas to all, and to P.V.M.C., thank you for making us all feel like royalty!
My bride and I got to attend a holiday party here, as we drove up we were asked if we had reservations or attending a party which we answered a party. They told us where to go and what not. I decided to park valet ($8 +tip) we went inside and found our area, tables to the left buffet style servings to the, to the right, plenty of staff to help! For a party they had a cash bar, which was fine for those that drink, I myself do not. Going to the food, I'm not going to go through every plate because I had a little bit of everything but let me tell you absolutely everything was delicious! I will point out the vegetarian lasagna, was very tasty and I didn't realize it was vegetarian until after I had tried it. Food was delicious and tasty, the chicken skewers were dried but what can you expect after it had been there a while. Overall an easy five stars for the service, unfortunately I didn't get any names so I couldn't point anybody out in this review. But everybody was very attentive, quick to clean up youth dishes, and whenever you would look at somebody they would smile and occasionally ask if we if we needed anything, the service was top-notch. The food was absolutely delicious enjoyed every single bit of it! Glad I found this place in the hills!
this place was so fun n cute!! We went to the restaurant part and they had a salad and soup bar with loads of options. The staff was helpful and easy going. The view was amazing! Next time we go we’re going to try the bar side of the restaurant. Food was great!
Celebrated my birthday here, it was awesome! The bartender made me a special cocktail based on information from my boyfriend, and we noticed it was on the house after we got the bar tab. Food was perfect in every way! Views are beautiful, especially at night. Will definitely be back!
The food was good, but nothing worth going back for. The view is great, as well as the atmosphere. That is the reason this is my second time there. Is a great restaurant to take a friend. The desert was dry, pecan pie.
Looking for great view restaurant nearby Fairground area?
The view won’t let you down from the restaurant.
The staff, working here, is quite helpful, friendly, and polite.
Furthermore, the entree size is quiet big . They also offer salad bar with soup ! You can make ur own salad ! If you have big appetite. They can refill the bread for you .
Overall experience is quiet delightful ! Definitely a good place to hang out with friends and family.

We spent several days in the Pomona area and went out to this place for dinner. Got to say it was just great! Lots of FREE parking, nice atmosphere, good food with big portions, fantastic view, and a fantastic salad and soup bar that is all included with your meal. It's so nice to find a nice restaurant in the Los Angeles area that you can still afford to eat at and this hits the button.
Celebrated father's day here, the appetizers were amazing along with our main entree...had a country rugged feel to it so it went right with the occasion. The bar is pretty cool too with windows overlooking the town. Would definitely go back!
I've been wanting to go here for a couple of years now. Just brought my wife to celebrate our anniversary, it was great. We felt like little kids over looking the city 😂. A little pricey but it's worth it, food was on point. I think the cheese bread might be better than Northwoods inn 😳
Came here for Thanksgiving with the family. Made a reservation ahead of time. Glad we did because we were seated within minutes and we were able to sit by a window. The view is gorgeous, especially during a sunset.
The hostess and waitress were on point. Very friendly and attentive. Our waitress checked on us regularly. Thank you Michelle! She was awesome!
They had a Thanksgiving special, but I was craving a steak. Decided to go with the Rib eye steak rare with mashed potatoes and clam chowder.
They also served garlic, cheese bread which was soooooooo good. There was melted cheese on top and it was served fresh and hot.
The clam chowder was good. It hit the spot.
The Rib eye was tender and the flavor was delicious. It is topped with a herb butter compote which enhances the flavor and has your taste buds doing a happy dance. The mashed potatoes were also good.
I recommend the rib eye. It was good!
I also had a lemon smash cocktail that didn't disappoint. It wasn't too sweet and was strong. Pretty good.
The only complaint that I have is about a bartender. I went to their bar to order another drink. I saw that no one else was ordering a drink so I thought it would take no time at all. I was wrong. There were two bartenders. One of them was preparing drinks for the servers while the other was not paying attention to her customers. She was looking at her phone, talking to the other bartender. I waited 5 minutes and she realized she had a customer waiting (me!). She was clearly distracted and ended up dropping a glass and chit chatting with another server that came by.
The bar itself is very nice and they have a nice variety of liquor, especially whisky.
Definitely recommend this place for a date night or girls night.
We have been coming here since 2005 and tonight was the best it has ever been. Our server Alexis and staff were amazing. The food was perfect, oh that rice and beef soup is out of this world, don't forget about the cheese bread.. I can't wait to go back.
Drinks tasted great and the bartender was fabulous, when it came to dinner the salad bar was subpar. Very little variety to make a salad and the soup wasn't even hot, warm at best. Although the flavor was great. The waitress was extremely attentive and updated us frequently which was amazing. He had steak and it was delicious, it melted in your mouth and had all the flavors you'd hope for. The trout on the other hand was nice, I am picky with fish so overall good execution. In the end a great date night experience and will come again with this experience in mind.
Went with the family to celebrate I am now cancer free. The food was terrific, service was great and the view was beautiful. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it was terribly hot in there. We were told the air conditioner was in but going in and out so not really cooling anything down. They brought us ice cold cloths to help keep us cool. My sister-in-law had a hard time handling the heat and couldn't eat so they didn't charge us for her. Otherwise the food, service and champagne was great!
