Great place to go after work and also vibe is good. Service is great, no wait time. Bartenders are really great, sadly the tours for brewery is closed but mentioned it will be opened very soon again. There is a window seating where a couple can have a good vibe especially when it’s snowing, the interior string lights and table lights are really good. Will be visiting again with friends. Don’t forget that they offer takeout’s for both beer and also food, need to pay $10 for bottle though but can be reused if you want to take beer home next time without paying for bottle again. Rye eye-eye drink is really smooth considering its IPA, really nice drinks.
Wonderful food and great beer. As it got busier, it got a little loud, but it wasn't bad. Food tasted great. We got the nachos to start and shared two meals.
Cask ale, fish and chips, sauerkraut balls and great service! Angelo has a unique way to caramelize his Scottish ale. Hear all about it on the All Things Beer Podcast!
Great food, beer, & service! The wings are large and grilled with the sauce on. They fall off the bone. I had the sausage & pirogies, cleaned the plate! Had an excellent beer from the rotating selection. I will ll have to come in on Sunday to get a scotch egg too!
Visited Columbus for a weekend and stopped into Barley’s on Friday night.
My favorite beer was the Scottish, which was smooth, caramelly, and went down easily. All of their beers did, really. Their pale ale was interesting, and it matched the on-menu description of being “not very pale,” but it was delicious. The malt inside came forward well and it made for smooth, easy drinking. Surprisingly similar in feel to the Scottish, but quite different in taste.
I got the chicken fingers and fries, plus one of each sauce. The chicken fingers were breaded perfectly and the fries were exactly what one needs at a brewery. Their buffalo is exceptionally thick and very delicious—some of the tastiest buffalo sauce I’ve had. The classic buffalo + bleu cheese combo almost seemed to cancel out the flavor of the buffalo, and the bleu cheese was more creamy and less gorgonzola-forward than I had hoped, but still good. The honey mustard was exceptional! Interestingly, the honey mustard was delicious on the fries, but the seasoning on the chicken fingers mixed with the sauce strangely and wasn’t as good. But the more I ate, the better it got! The barbecue is very heavy on the hickory flavor, which is great if you love hickory, but I like my barbecue sauce a little sweeter and tangier. Theirs is very dark. The ranch was ranch.
Hannah made sure I was happy and she was a delight. If I’m ever in Columbus again, I’d hope she’d be working Barley’s that night.
Great atmosphere and even better service. We enjoyed their flight of beers and tasty nachos. The wings weren’t our favorite in Columbus but that goes for most baked chicken wings that aren’t also smoked/fried as well. Their house imperial stout beer was one of my favorites as well as the haze odyssey. We will be back soon to try other menu items 😄
I dropped in for a single drink before attending another event. I enjoyed the flight of beers (pale ale, hazy IPA, and double IPA) and the casual atmosphere. The server was efficient, but could have smiled and been more welcoming. It felt like a transaction.
An alumni event in the rustic underground space was so fun! Excellent service. I wish I could have tried everything on the menu! Try the Oktoberfest beer!
Nice quiet place for a quick lunch while at the convention center. We ordered:
1. Buffalo cauliflower 🪽- these were spicy but delicious. Must like cauliflower. (4.5/5 🌟)
2. Sweet potato 🍟- these were fried and seasoned well. The mayo on the side could have been better. (4/5 🌟)
3. Pear and Pine - I ordered this concerned about the 🍍 juice. The 🍍 was overpowering and not my cup of tea. (2/5 🌟)
Our server was attentive, and I would visit again.
Ample vegetarian options! The nachos, perogies and truffle mac-n-cheese were on point!
