We are currently sitting at Katfish Katy’s, with our family of 6.
Katfish Katy’s is a place we have historically loved and come to pretty frequently.
Since the new ownership, it continues to go downhill.
The chicken nuggets were so tough our 1.5 year old couldn’t bite into them. I tried to bite one in half for him and I couldn’t hardly bite it.
My daughters shrimp was grayish and tasted terrible- like maybe they were freezer burned or leftovers…or both. Hands down the worst shrimp I’ve ever tasted.
My young sons BLT was supposed to have regular Mayo and they forgot to substitute it, leaving it too hot to eat.
My husbands catfish and my catfish were barely warm, and so fatty, mushy and old it tasted terrible. It did not taste or look fresh cooked. I love most any fish, but I couldn’t even eat more than a few bites.
To top it off, the place is nearly empty and as our food was arriving a waitress came over and made us rearrange our kids to move the high chair away from the table that her new guests sat down in.
I told her no 3 separate times and she moved it anyhow.
We had been here 20 minutes, their party of 2 just walked in and chose a table right next to us with no fewer than 27 visible open tables under shade.
We specifically sat our kids where the baby would be out of the sun and the young kids would each be by a parent to help them. So we had to rearrange all of us and all of our food in order to even eat.
We would’ve let our own waiter know there were problems but we never saw him again until we were so discounted we just wanted our check and left.
We did have 1 kiddo eat a delicious grilled cheese and the corn on the cob was great.
I rarely leave reviews, but this was exceptionally disappointing.

Decent food, though very expensive. Portions are about normal, but what you are really paying for is the atmosphere and view. Right off of the KT trail, it's a beautiful spot and they often have live music and events. Servers are always prompt and cheery. This place is a great weekend stop!

Great grilled chicken sandwich with fresh lettuce tomatoes, pickles and onions. They put it on gluten free bread as requested. Helpful staff!!
Update May 1, 2021. My goodness the most awesome hamburger, catfish nugget, and pretzel. Long wait.

Great restaurant stop while cycling on the Katy Trail. Best burger and fries I've had in a long time!!! A fun place to grab a snack, or sit down and eat. Lots of families there for the Memorial Day holiday. Appreciated being able to stop in and enjoy!

Nice place to grab a beer and food, it's right on the Katy trail. They have live music most nights.

You won't be disappointed stopping at Katfish Katy's! Great food and atmosphere. The patio, deck, and restrooms are extremely clean. The restaurant is located right off of the Katy Trail-- don't worry, there is a parking lot too.

Great ambience! Music was good.. perhaps a bit too loud. The food was really good. The catfish had just enough spice. The cheeseburger my friend ordered was a little bit dry. The jalapeño hush puppies were the best.
