Like much of this part of downtown CoMo, this place has a kitschy, charming personality. I was very disappointed with the salsa, queso, and chips, but the fish tacos more than made up for it. I feel like the prices are a little high for the servings provided, but I'd go back again. If I do, I'm looking forward to trying the Korean or shrimp tacos.

A decent experience, but a little expensive for what you get.
I got the fish tacos and disco fries. Fish taco (~$8) smelled very strong (my entire table commented), but tasted fine and I had no ill effects from eating them. Disco fries (~$11) were ok. The sauce in the middle was a bit too strong (BBQ), but the outer areas without it were very good. A little soggy, but what do you expect with queso fries.
Interior was nice and clean. Server was fast and friendly.

This place has great beer pulled chicken tacos in a super mellow atmosphere. Their burgers are good, but the tacos are my favorite. The fries are alright, too; the fries are the thin cut (think McDonald’s size) and super crispy. They also have a bar section as well. Overall, great option for a good meal and drink!

This is a great joint for food and cocktails. Good atmosphere, and reasonable prices for high quality dining. Always GREAT service as well. I'll stop in here while downtown just to get a stilt shaker and an order of fries with their custom dip sauces!

A local recommended this for a girls lunch, and it was delicious! Fantastic salads, great sandwich, and average cost you would expect for bar and food type atmosphere. A little loud when busy, but not as bad as I expected on a Saturday for lunch. Very good service too.

When you order a burger with bacon and cheese no bun bc you’re doing Keto and you get the bill and it’s $12 and doesn’t taste good. You ask about the price and she says well the burger is $5, bacon $2.5, a piece of cheese $1 and $.75 for mayo (not sure maybe they charge for ketchup also). But y’all does that add up to $12? Also why no discount for no bun... anywho will never go back and wouldn’t recommend at all!

Best place by far in columbia i had the fish tacos, sweet potato wedges and a few beers (option #2 and cream wheat ale). Then we had desert and it was by far the best in Missouri, for sure a place to give a shot!

Best food in town! Been in Columbia 7 years and this has become a go-to spot. All the tacos are amazing and they switch parts of the menu around frequently so there's always something new to try. Great staff too!

Really enjoyed my lunch this past Monday. Had never been but has been highly recommended by a friend for a long time I had the Cuban Ruben and the stout brownie. Both we're excellent except for one minor thing which I am sure was just a misjudgment on time. The sugar wasn't completely incorporated into the Carmel sauce so it was a little grainy. The flavor was excellent. The fact that almost everything is made in house is a big attraction for me. I highly recommend the Canteen and they will be seeing me again.

I went yesterday and had the best taco I've ever had in my life. It was their featured taco and I wish I took a picture to remember what was in it. It was slightly sweet, creamy and just enough heat. Kudos to the team and the brilliant mind that created a little piece of food heaven.

We drove in from Chicago and went there for lunch on Friday. Street steak tacos are amazing. Staff is awesome!! The food is so good that we went back for lunch on Saturday. Steak Torta was so amazing!! Tried the fish (pan seared tilapia) tacos...again amazing!! I would recommend 44 Canteen to everyone.

My daughter suggested we go to 44 Canteen (right by The Blue Note) for a dinner that wouldn't be too heavy. She had just eaten there for lunch and said it was so delicious she wanted to go back right away! She had the pork carnitas tacos and I had the fish tacos. Both were excellent! When we heard about he dessert choices, we couldn't resist the chocolate/peanut butter cake with chocolate ganache and chantilly cream. So much for a light meal! Our server was attentive and we were served quickly! We will definitely be back!

Two tacos for $8.00! The portion size of the two tacos was small. Should of been at least 3 tacos for the $8. Flavor great.
