Capital City Club

Oh friends, if I could give this 0 stars, I would. My organization has been holding events at the Capital City Club for something like a decade. Never, in all that time, have we ever had as many issues with an event space as with the Capital City Club the past six months. I first started trying to book our event date with Kirkland Bennett, the current Events Director, in February. Numerous phone calls, voicemails, email messages went unanswered. Sent emails with "read receipts" in early April- got the confirmation that it had been read over a month later. Finally on May 3rd, only one month out from our event, did we get our first draft of the contract. CCC never confirmed receipt of the signed contract. They never charged the credit card to book the event space either. This morning was our event. Coffee and breakfast were put out 15 minutes late for what was to be a prompt 45-60 minute event. AV was not operable until 35 minutes past the start time, and even then, not in the capacity it was supposed to be. Staff working the event were friendly and tried to be helpful, but clearly did not have the tools or support necessary to execute events as promised. From start to finish, a disaster. We will not be holding events with the Capital City Club again.
