Terrific as always .!!!!! The food is always the best and the bomb !!!! And the employees are always the most efficient HAPPY and make you feel like you're part of the family . You always get your food hot . And the prices are reasonable.!!! I highly recommend this place to get the food and take your family and friends !! The food is made with love !! So are the tamales !!! The tamales are also the bomb you have to order them a day in advance but worth it !!

I was looking for the best green Chile in Colorado while I was on vacation and I found it!! We ordered a green Chile chicken burrito to share because we just wanted a little snack because we were going to be having a big dinner later, I soon regretted not getting my own. First bite in and I was hooked. This burrito with green Chile had the best amount of heat to it from the peppers. It was so flavorful and fresh tasting. I ate every bite and spooned up all the leftover green Chile sauce, it was that good. Forget Santiago's this is the place for the best green Chile in Colorado. We will be back!!

Just wow! I don't know that I need to say more, but I will... The food is great, wonderfully priced and the staff is very nice. We actually came down to get some dumplings from the Lucky Dumpling - around the corner - and while we were waiting we decided to check out El Taco Rey and we were glad we did. We decided to order even though we had food from the Lucky Dumpling. Now I'm not saying the Lucky Dumpling isn't good - read my review - but we just loved the Burrito from here. Me more so than my wife 'cause we ordered the Green Sauce and it was a bit too spicy for her. But she said that we "have to go back"! The food tastes great! And the pricing is good AND they do have free parking!!! Go Go Go There.

This is absolutely Colorado Springs best locally owned Mexican food! The staff (family) is so friendly and great at what they do. The food is tremendous. Try the smothered pork and avocado burrito, the crispy fried tacos, the salsa, and best part is the banana pudding. Delicious. I could go on and on about so many more of the menu items. If you live in COS, visit this place. If you are from out of town, put this on your list of places to visit in COS! You will not regret it.

Oh my gosh! Another oldie but goodie Colorado Springs restaurant here for ages. They have the best Avocado Pork Burrito smothered in Green Chili in this city. It's tiny, family owned along with a wonderful family atmosphere. All the food is awesome, but my favorite is their Green Chili. Nicest family ever!

I should have taken a picture, but I was to busy 🤤 haha. I had gotten the pork avocado burrito with chili on the side. I'm glad I did that bc I was able to taste everything separately. The chili reminds me of my grandmother's 💯🔥 I ate it by itself. The pork inside the burrito is amazing as well as the beans on the side 😍 Will be visiting it again soon!

Food is definitely on-point!! But I recommend that you call & place an order to-go, or use a meal delivery service. Otherwise, you will be so cramped while you eat & may even have to share a table with a stranger or 2. The building is so small, but the food is so popular that the line is out the door & down the sidewalk!! This place is a family owned business & definitely a downtown favorite. 2 thumbs WAY UP!! I definitely recommend!
