The food was awesome!I had the Aube Benedict with prime rib hash. The hash was really good. We had a larger party but our waitress handled us like a pro, even the few smart asses in the crew (you know who you are! Lol) .Thanks Lisa great service and everyone else who helped!

The Puppy is a local neighborhood bar with great staff, food, and atmosphere. The staff are attentive and will always take care of you! The food is remarkable, with large portions and wonderful flavor. The atmosphere is as good as it gets with the indoor space having a large U-shaped bar but the star of the show is The Outback. The Outback transforms this bar into an outdoor oasis where you can spend all day listening to live music on the newly renovated stage!

We just happened to find this place on the way to Stowe. It turned out to be a great place for a late lunch. I had the ham club with bacon and the wife had the French dip with cheddar and grilled onions. Both were fantastic as was the service. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were very friendly and very fun.

They have indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outdoors right next to a small pond/fountain. Good food and friendly staff. It was a nice warm evening and we just felt relaxed the whole time.

This burger was very well cooked and my hats off to the grill guy. It was a perfect temp and super juicy so no pressing. The burger was this: pickled red onion topping, cheddar, 1/2 pound of beef (they didn't specify where, cut, or anything like that so I assume it's tube meat that they portion) I'd consider this on the lower rung of an average burger. This was a steakhouse burger with nothing really steakhouse about it except maybe the pickled red onion? The idea of the burger wasn't really there. Usually a steakhouse burger comes w/ a BBQ sauce and a fried onion ring as we commonly see it. Sometimes it comes with a A1 type sauce or bears the name "Texas Burger" or "BBQ Burger." I think at the end of the day, these kinds of burgers are pretty similar but Spanked Puppy's version just seemed like a burger with pickled red onion. The pickled red onion sadly went unnoticed. I tried it alone and it didn't have that acidic vinegar hit that you expect and was too fake of a color. The chipotle mayo was there but not much flavor with it either. The meat was well cooked but poorly prepped. A little salt can go a long way with this burger. The bun was a store bought burger bun with a spongy consistency with a "there but not noticed" vibe. Too floury. Again, hats off to the cook for toasting it w/ butter on the flat top though. This burger excelled in its cooking and delivery but fell flat on its flavor and overall planning. Rating below: Name of restaurant: Spanked Puppy Date: 1/10/21 General time: 2pm Town: Colchester, VT Name of burger: Steakhouse Burger Side included?: yes, fries Price: about $12 Temp order & temp received: medium rare, got medium rare Patty thickness: Thick patty burger, average, 1/2 pound burger Number of patties: 1 Bun stability throughout: Decent Type of cheese: Cheddar Level of cheesiness: 1 slice Condiments: Pickled Red Onion Sauces: Chipotle Mayo Rating: 4.5

BEST prime rib I've EVER had!!! No kidding! Who would've thought! Seriously; most tender end cut prime rib ever! Friday night menu has prime rib! Every bit was tender. I prefer end cut when available and complimented first our waitress about the meal and then the owner came over. Compliments are earned and as a small restaurant attached to a bar, everyone should know they do roast beef very well!! The live band just started (6pm). Great musicians and songs. Mix of country; jazz and (not hard) rock. Awesome.

Came here for brunch on a Saturday and even though we missed the breakfast menu, the lunch menu had some great choices. The chicken sandwich really hit the spot and was big in portion size. The waiting staff is super nice and was always around to answer any questions.
