The food here can be great but it is really hit or miss. Lately it's mostly miss. I picked up a pizza last night that was more of a cracker than a pie. It was a $27 dollar pizza and most of it remains in my fridge this morning destined to be dog snacks.

Staff was great and friendly! Sandwiches are HUGE! Bonus points for homemade bread. Prices are quite affordable. Decent place to check out if you want a relaxed environment.
While our most recent meal at the Plum Tomato was adequate, service was extremely slow to our table. We watched other folks who had come in well after us get served and there was no adequate explanation given why our fairly routine orders took 45 minute to be tabled. Our server was more interested
Excellent pizza! The crust had a nice crisp but also had some chew to it which I liked. I got a large and had left overs for 3 days! Well worth it and still good reheated
The wings were awesome. Nice and crispy outside, juicy on the inside and tossed to near perfection in teriyaki. Waitress was on her game, and I never had to ask for a refill. Great little restaurant.
If everything in a pizza place can be judged by the cheese pizza, The Plum Tomato is One of the best wood fired pizza places in CT. I really like the rustic atmosphere and the friendly people here. Try the Sammy the Bull sandwich! Incredible flavors!
Their cheese pizza slices are Awesome sauce. 😎 They have a great recipe in our family's opinion that makes it worth a stop for takeout pizza slices even though there's no real dining area. Consistently really good garlicky, buttery deliciousness.

Very good dinner! The chicken sandwich was huge. I ordered a quarter and it was the size of a whole at other place, fanatic taste and loaded with meat and toppings.chicke. Walnut salad was also great! The pizza guy showed off too for my kid. My son thought Mario worked there! Fun night!
The Plum Tomato recently catered our special event Friday night in Colchester. Worked with Erin Walls and her service was exceptional and thoroughly detailed. Many compliments on the food! I highly recommend for catering!
Good pizza but the only problem is when taking out it doesn't seem to.hold its heat even for a short distance. We really like the Pisa pizza and the Greek salad was great!
Just a short time in Colchester, but after eating at the "Plum" we are impressed. Friendly service, good and plenty food ( enough pasta to have a second dinner and the tuna wrap served a lunch too) We will be back!

We used Plum Tomato Colchester Catering for our party. Everyone loved the food. Our experience in making the food order and having it delivered was the best. The people were very helpful and pleasant . Will use them again for future events.
